General overview
The house is located on the Golden Circle in South Iceland in Reykholt a small village 15 mins drive from Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot spring. The house is 2 minutes walking distance from Friðheimar Tomato farm restaurant. The house is perfect for a large family and sleeps up to 10 people. There are 4 seperate bedrooms, a master bedroom and 3 smaller rooms with beds, either twin or queen size beds. 2 matresses are available that can be used by children.
The space
There are 4 seperate bedrooms, a master bedroom and 3 smaller rooms with beds, either twin or queen size beds. The kitchen is very spacious and light with a large table and lots of space to cook big meals. A large fridge and a dishwasher. The nice livingroom is quiet and comfortable with some musical instruments to enjoy. In the center of the house is a space for TV with a large and comfortable sofa. The bathroom is newly renovated with floorheat and a large shower. The washing machine is situated there as well.
The house is 200 sq meters large and is situated on a 2 acre plot. Out from the living room is a large padio facing SW and is ideal for enjoying summer days. A hot tub is on the east side of the house together with a pizza oven and outdoor shower.
Guest access
The house is on one floor (no stairs, basements or attics). The doors are standard whith so wheelchair access is not possible. In front of the house is a large parking space and one has to step up one step to enter the house, on the other side of the house there is easy access to the padio and throughout the whole garden. People with walking difficulties should find it easy to walk around.
Notes
The little village Reykholt is quiet one with very nice neighbours. The house is located at the heart of The Golden Circle, the most popular tourist destination in Iceland. In the surrounding area you will find Geysir hotspring and Gullfoss waterfall (10 minutes drive) in 40 mins drive you will find Þingvellir National Park. In Flúðir (10 mins drive) you will find The Secret lagoon and Farmers Bistro. In Laugarvatn, in 20 mins drive you will find Fontana Spa and a lake you can swim in as it has some geothermal hotsprings in it. It will take you 2 hours to drive to Vík (Black sand beach, waterfalls, puffins and more). Drive to Reykjavík is 1 hour. There are several sigths you can see within 1-2 hour driving distance that is worth seeing. Staying in our house for a week will give you plenty of time to explore countless destination as giving you a chance to relax and connect with your family.

Neighbourhood
There is a small gas station and shop in town, a local swimming pool with hot tubs. The main industry is growing vegetables and flowers in greenhouses. One of those is the famous Tomato Farm restaurant Friðheimar, that is in 2 minutes walking distance.
Getting around
You will need a car while staying here as almost everything is accesseble by car. Public transportation is not easy in this area as the bus only drives by 1x a day.

We are a couple with 2 teenage daughters that love to travel. We are looking for a comfortable house that fits 4-5 people preferrebly in warmer parts of the world. We like to travel in January-March for a length of time, but also for Easter break and in September-October. We are adventerous and love to meet new people and live like the locals.
