Neighbourhood
The neighborhood is all residential and very quiet. Every road leads to a beautiful desert hike or world class biking trail.
Getting to my home
When flying into Cabo San Lucas it’s best to either rent a car at the airport or hire a shuttle driver to take you to La Ventana which is approximately two hours away.
Nearest airport
San Jose del Cabo or SJD is most popular although some flights can go into La Paz which is only a 45 minute drive.
Getting Around
It’s convenient to have a car but renting bikes can get you to restaurants and shops. The beach is within walking distance.
Staying at Carol’s house was truly a great experience. We were met by her son, Michael, who was a wonderful source of information. He has a great dance studio next door. We never anticipate taking a dance lesson after 36 years of marriage, but he is an amazing, patient instructor and the type of dance is not intimidating whatsoever even for those of us with two left feet.
Carol’s home is decorated beautifully with art and is well equipped to cook meals at home.
We also loved the beautiful sunrises and enjoying the spectacular views from the house of the sea of Cortez. A beautiful beach is only a two minute drive. We literally had the beach to ourselves and snorkeled right off shore for hours. There are tons of beautiful fish and saw different types of eels too.
We highly recommend a stay at Carol’s house and a dance lesson too!
El Sargento is a gem of a paradise that during the early summer is pretty much empty of tourists since the area is known for world class kite surfing in the winter months.
We were able to see some incredible kite surfing our last day as the breeze picked up and all of a sudden a bunch of folks showed up to kite surf.

Thank you Marcella for your wonderful review. We love our little paradise and sharing with others. Please come again and hope to visit Costa Rica and your home someday.
We enjoy having Carol visit Utah. She took the initiative to wash the used towels and sheets upon checkout and was great with the cat. It was wonderful going to the aquarium with Carol, her daughter and granddaughter!
Carol is a thoughtful guest and friend, offering to take care of our plants and leaving our home wonderfully clean.
Carol was a very considerate guest and we will miss her! She communicates well and left the home just as she found it. We are happy to have facilitated the initial bonding between grandmother and granddaughter!
Jill’s home has been a wonderful place for me to stay. The location is perfectly situated close to shops and everything else one might want or need. Her home is clean, with all conveniences and Jill is attentive and communicative. I will always choose to stay there when possible. It’s been a dream come true.
Marcella and friends were a joy to have in our home. Everything was treated as their own and they even left little gifts for us. I would host them again anytime.
Jill’s house has been a dream come true for me. Its location is perfect, close to everything you can imagine. Her home has all one can need, is neat and clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and pleasant to take a stroll through. She has been generous to offer to me with flexible terms and I have been grateful. I will appreciate staying there again when possible.
This exchange was a dream come true for me., The location was perfectly central for shops and everything else I needed within walking distance. The owners made sure I was comfortable and had all the necessities for my stay. The accommodations are roomy, totally private and easy to come and go. I recommend this exchange highly and hope to make it again in the future.,

We are a loving family with our first grandchild on the way. We are very active in summer and winter sports and enjoy water sports at our Baja location, including windsurfing, kiteboarding, SUPing and snorkeling. It is important to us that we respect others homes as we would wish the same for ours.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
