General overview
Whisper quiet, two-bedroom private apartment with leafy views from the large balcony to the Harbour Bridge (and a spectacular view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House if you take a 1 minute walk to the harbour's edge). You will see kookaburras and lorikeets in the trees.
Two minute walk to restaurants, shops and cafes and public transport.
The space
Eclectic, colourful, 1920s apartment opening onto a large verandah that overlooks the leafy park and the Harbour Bridge.
2 bedrooms (one queen bed and one king single), one bathroom (with bath), a large light-filled verandah and a private internal courtyard.
The apartment is filled with art, antiques, and low-maintenance pot plants. The apartment building nestles into a beautiful leafy park on the harbour. Incredibly quiet, while being in one of the most city-central locations.
Guest access
Our apartment is not wheelchair / low mobility friendly - you need to use two flights of stairs to access it. Once in the apartment however, it is all on one level.
The park and harbour's edge are 50 metres down a hill.
Notes
If you're travelling with a baby, happy to provide a cot, change station, etc - whatever you need!

Neighbourhood
Lavender Bay is one of the most beautiful spots in Sydney. We're next to the harbour - looking out at the most stunning view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. In Octover-November, the Jacaranda trees turn purple with blossom, and people come from miles around to take photos.
Just two minutes walk away are renowned restaurants, French and Italian bakeries, beautiful shops and a supermarket.
Lavender Bay is very close to the city, and one of the most accessible areas by public transport (ferry, bus and train are all very close).
Things to do within a 5 minute walk:
Wendy Whiteley's Garden - one of the most romantic spots in Sydney. Created by artist Wendy Whiteley, with views to the harbour, this publicly-accessible garden's winding walks look out on the harbour. Enjoy a picnic at one of the many private picnic tables in the secluded garden.
Luna Park - a retro amusement park beside the harbour built in the 1930s.
Harbourside walks - you can take long walks beside the harbour in both directions. Walk under the famous Harbour Bridge and look across to the city and opera house, or walk in national park at Ball's Head.
Kayaking tours leave from Lavender Bay every day, giving you an intimate tour of the harbour.
Getting to my home
From the city, just hop on a ferry at Circular Quay and our ferry wharf (Milsons Pt) is the first stop. Then it's a 5-10 minute harbourside walk to our place.
You can also catch a train or bus to North Sydney, and then it's a 10 minute downhill walk to our apartment.
From the airport, a 25-minute taxi ride will get you to our place most easily.
Nearest airport
Sydney Airport (SYD) - 25 minutes by car, 45 minutes by train.
Getting around
Shops and very good restaurants are 2 minutes walk away. Public transport (ferry, train, bus) is a 5-10 minutes walk away.
We stayed at Anna and Jacks jewel of a home and just loved their artistic decor and leafy outlook over the park from their verandah.
We heard kookaburras and lorikeets every morning!! Their apartment was clean and well thought out and exceptionally quiet.
Going to a show in the city was fabulous - just a walk through the park towards the Harbour bridge, and then a quick ferry ride past the Opera House to the city. The city lights reflected on the harbour were just magical.
We found fabulous weekend markets just ten minutes away in Kirribilli.
Anna and Jack responded quickly to our messages and made the whole exchange so easy and such a pleasure.
We would highly recommend an exchange with them.

Rebecca and Rob were such lovely guests, we would gladly welcome them back any time. They looked after our place beautifully, were very communicative and were a delight to meet. Happy travels!

Anna
Anna and Jack (mid-30's couple with baby Genevieve born June 2024). We love rock climbing, bush walking, urban exploring, history, languages and food. Anna is a cyber lawyer and Jack works in construction procurement. Genevieve is a cute freeloader!
Anna has been on 5 PLU exchanges around the world with her parents, so understands how important it is to look after your home, and your animals or gardens that she will be caring for.
We would welcome sim, non-sim or globe exchanges in Australia and around the world.
If you live close to Sydney and would like a weekend by the harbour, we would also love to have a "mini exchange" with you!
We look forward to hearing from you.
