Charming Studio in the Heart of Old Town Nice 🇫🇷☀️
Welcome to my cozy and well-located studio in Vieux Nice, just a 3-minute stroll to the beach and the famous Promenade des Anglais. Tucked into the historic old town, you'll be steps away from local markets, cafés, and cobblestone streets full of Mediterranean charm.
Nice sits at the heart of the French Riviera, one of the most sought-after coastal destinations in the world. Savor exceptional food 🥐🍷, soak in the rich culture and history, and enjoy stunning sea and hilltop views — all without leaving town.
With an international airport, high-speed trains, ferries, and great highway access, Nice is a perfect base for exploring the region and beyond.
🌟 Easy Day Trips from Nice:
Monaco 🎰🏎️ – Formula 1 thrills, world-famous casinos, and cliffside luxury (25 min by train)
Cannes 🎬🛍️ – Film festivals, shopping, and sandy beaches (40 min by train)
Menton 🍋🌴 – Elegant gardens and seaside calm near the Italian border (50 min by train)
Antibes 🎨⛵ – Home to the Picasso Museum and a lovely old port town (30 min by train)
Èze 🏞️🌸 – Medieval hilltop village with panoramic views and perfume shops (train or bus - also depending if you want to go to the beach below or the hill top town (very steep climb!)
Cagnes-sur-Mer 🏖️🎭 – Charming seaside town with a pebble beach, open-air markets, and Renoir’s hillside estate (20 min by train)
Villefranche-sur-Mer 🌊🎨 – Colorful harbor village with sandy beaches, art-filled chapels, and narrow, winding lanes (10 min by train or 15–22 minutes by bus, depending on traffic and stops)
I take the bus because it takes less time to walk to the bus stop then taking a tram or walking to the train station
The French Alps 🏔️❄️ – Just a couple of hours away for hiking, skiing, or scenic drives

Getting Around
It's very easy to get around in Nice and nearby towns.
You could not find a better spot to stay and explore Nice that Anne’s cozy little place in Vielle-Ville. Though compact, Anne has decorated it beautifully and it has everything you need to enjoy your stay. The kitchen is well equipped (though we ate out most days as so many places to explore). We loved the daily fresh food market in the town square with a feast of local produce and delicacies. Comfortable large queen bed with the high ceilings and rough hewn original timber beams dating back to around the 17th century. We look out onto the church of St François de Paul across the quadrangle.. So close to the beach and walking distance to everything you want. Anne kept in touch and made sure all was smooth for our arrival and stay. We stayed 4 days there and are only sorry we couldn’t stay longer. It is a real treat to stay at Anne’s place and thank you for the opportunity 🤩
We are just leaving after spending an entire week at Anne’s apartment in old town Nice, France in mid August. Even though it’s a busy time of year with lots of tourists, we never had a problem getting a nice spot in the beach or any restaurant. There are soooo many restaurants closeby, down the charming narrow streets. Nice has a festive, beach, happy vibe but also peaceful and calm compared to what we often see in USA. We would return and also highly recommend for solo or a couple . It was very clean and organized! The bed was very comfortable, ac was quick to cool the apartment and the water always hot in the shower. Everything worked perfectly and there are adequate supplies to make the stay comfortable. We liked that we could walk everywhere or conveniently get to the bus stop. We felt safe and locals were friendly. This was a non simulations exchange and we’d love to host Anne and Bluberry again and also her husband if he can get away.
Thank you for this opportunity!
Anne was our 1st contact and exchange partner and I can’t say enough about how wonderful she is. Her generosity with time to explain the process and openness to hosting our adult son at her place was beyond my expectations. I will share my sons review of her spot and look forward to hosting her in September.
“Anne was an amazing host, super communicative, thorough, and helpful with everything I needed, including great local recommendations. I came here mainly to relax after six weeks of traveling through 13 countries, and this place was exactly what I needed. The location is unbelievably perfect, just a five-minute walk to the beach and right in the heart of Old Nice, which is full of charming restaurants and cafés. I didn’t do tons of sightseeing, as I was looking to relax mostly, but I did make it to Antibes one night for an incredible jazz show, visited the Marc Chagall Museum (which has some stunning mosaics and paintings), and took a short trip to Èze, a beautiful medieval town nearby.
The apartment itself is super comfortable, the bed and couch are great, the laundry works perfectly, and the kitchen and bathroom are both really nice. The Wi-Fi was flawless the whole time, and check-in was a breeze with all the clear instructions Anne provided. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better stay.”
We were delighted with the stay at Anne’s apartment in Nice for 8 days
The location is perfect to explore the old town of Nice, convenient to rail lines, parks, shops and many places of interest
The apartment was clean, well equipped with everything that we needed including beach stuff and very quiet
Anne kindly left us welcome beverages, coffee and provisions in the kitchen which was greatly appreciated upon arrival
We would highly recommend Anne as a host
Some of the things that we enjoyed in the area include
- walking along the ocean (during the day and after dinner/evening)
- taking the train to many local beaches and towns including Antibes, VillaFrance sur Mer, up the Var River and from Marseille
- local Fresh restaurants in the area and Lebanese and Turkish cuisine
- we were lucky to catch a drone light show and fireworks display two blocks away
The communication with Anne was great including the helpful videos sent before we arrived
Thanks Anne!
Anne’s adorable studio conveniently has both an elevator (we only used for luggage but it was very handy) and air conditioning, which my husband appreciated. It is beautifully decorated and so comfortable! The location is phenomenal - we walked only a few steps to the Cours Saleya market every morning and often went to the beach and walked along the promenade (again, only a few steps to get there). The proximity to all that and the many, many wonderful restaurants was so great!
Anne left metro cards in the studio that we could reload which was nice - we left them behind with a few rides for the next guests. We used the Monoprix to stock up on some groceries and appreciated all the cooking supplies, beach items and every day items Anne had in the studio. Having a washer was really nice as our trip was longer and we could pack less.
As this was our first true swap, we learned a lot from how Anne organized the info she passed on. I will definitely be making videos for our future guests! She was quick to respond and share information and I look forward to hosting her & Blueberry Maine in our (Niagara, ON) studio.
Our short 4-night stay at Anne’s well-appointed apartment in Vieux Nice was fantastic. She provided detailed instructions (including videos) to access her apartment and how to use the appliances via WhatsApp. The step-by-step videos were extremely helpful. She was quick to respond when we had questions during our stay which was very much appreciated.
The apartment is beautifully decorated and has all you need. Her studio boasts a lovely view of a nearby bell tower that tolled at noon. The location is superb and the apartment was perfect for our short visit. You cannot get a better location than Cours Saleya and a short walk to the Promenade de Anglais. Nice-Ville train station is a quick 15-minute walk for day trips to Antibes, Menton or Eze.
Do not hesitate to reach out to Anne if you want to be in the heart of beautiful Nice. Anne is a fantastic host and we hope to see her when she visits NYC this November.
Nice was soooo nice 😊. We went in early May - the weather was perfect, warm but occasionally needing a light jacket; active but not crowded; and neighboring Monaco getting ready for the race and Cannes for the film festival.
Anne’s apartment is in the perfect location - in the old part of town, with cobbled streets, outdoor restaurants everywhere, and a pastry shop right outside the door for fresh daily baguettes and croissants. It is a 3 minute walk to the beach and promenade - the focus of all activity. Tourists and locals alike enjoy the promenade (which runs along the beach) for walking, biking, exercising, dog walking, etc. every morning we would walk to the beach (stone beach, not sand) and enjoy a swim. The water is gorgeous.
At first, Anne’s apartment seems small - and it is - but she’s set it up very efficiently and comfortably. You quickly realize you have everything you need and we slept wonderfully. The apartment is in a 300 year old, converted monastery so it has personality! And if you rent a car (which we did do we could do day trips), there’s a parking garage right across the street.
We really enjoyed our visit, Anne was a great communicator, and available for any questions. We’d love to go back someday!
We spent a wonderful week in Anne's appartment. It's super central - a couple of minutes walk to the coastal esplanade, right in the centre of the old city, and very close to tramway and bus stops. Amazingly, the place is still very quiet, as the appartment faces the rear of the building- we slept with the window open.
The appartment is very small, but had everything we needed. It was great to have such a central base from where to explore Nice and other parts of the Côte d'Azur.
Anne was very helpful, leaving clear instructions and many useful tips on things to do nearby. Thanks a lot for hosting us!
Anne is such a wonderful host. We stayed with her many times in different cities, and she with us in our home in the Caribbean.
With that said, her place in Nice is perfect. Excellently located, wonderfully equipped and incredibly comfortable. In the center of old town Nice, the apartment is close to everything.
The best stay ever!!!
I had a wonderful stay at this charming home in Nice! The location is simply unbeatable, just steps away from Promenade des Anglais and the sea. It made it so easy to enjoy everything Nice has to offer, from the lovely restaurants to the beach.
The apartment itself is stylishly decorated in a cute, blue theme that kind of makes you feel like you're living on a boat. The South of France vibe is evident in every detail.
I also want to highlight the great communication with Anne. She was always available and incredibly helpful, making my experience even better. Anne ensured that everything went smoothly, and I truly appreciated that.
I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to experience Nice at its best and can’t wait to go back for a future exchange with Anne.
Anne is an amazing exchange partner! We were so very lucky to stay in her studio apartment in Paris in April for 2 nights and then 6 nights in her Nice apartment. Location, location, location!
Nice was perfect 2 guests, out exploring all day and a nice sanctuary to sleep and shower. We didn’t cook, but the kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. It was a perfect stay!
I couldn't think of a better place to visit Nice as a solo traveller (or as a couple) than Anne's studio! Her studio is small, but comfortable, well organized, warm and above all so well located in Vieux Nice, just a few steps from the Promenade des Anglais and the Cours Saleya.
The studio was very clean when I arrived. Anne's instructions for arrival and departure were precise. Anne did everything to ensure that I had everything I needed and that my stay at her place was a success. Communication with her was friendly and easy. I can't wait to welcome her back into my home in Montréal!
I loved every minute I spent discovering Nice: a colourful and vibrant city!
If you have the chance to stay with Anne, don't miss out!
Anne was a true delight….our 1st experiences with PLU ….as a host and guest she was truly generous with her time and spirit. I was grateful to be at our home when she and Blueberry began her stay at our cottage …she took great care of our spot during her stay and was able to even have her parents come and stay. I was able to spend some time with her and Blueberry and show them around …we were able to even get a PLU meetup in….I would highly recommend her as a guest and for a stay at her spot.
If PLU is looking for an ambassador, I nominate Anne. She is a wealth of experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm for the community. I was lucky to host Anne and her sweet pup Blueberry. Not only were they respectful, pleasant guests, they were a lot of fun. It is my pleasure to recommend them and I hope to host them again soon.
Anne was a lovely, friendly guest and our Teddy loved having Blueberry Maine as a playmate during her stay! He still looks out the window for her each morning 🥲
Anne has a wealth of knowledge on the East Coast so we had some fun talking about our next big family trip, exploring Maine and its cute towns!
We are so grateful for the exchange - our time in her Nice apartment was dreamy and it was so nice to meet her & Blueberry 🫐 after all of our communication!
We did a 2nd exchange with Anne (actually more like an extension to the first) and she offered us a Pluto, although we did not require that it was very much appreciated. Please refer to my recommendation and review on the first exchange, but I will repeat here that Anne and Blueberry were perfect guests and we hope they return. So do my dogs! They played with Blue and had a lot of fun in our yard. I highly recommend any type of exchange with them. She is welcome back with Blue, or husband or her dad, anytime. Soon we will be visiting her home in Nice , France.
Anne and her sweet Corgi, Blueberry, stayed with us in our guest room for 2 weeks. Originally we planned 1 week but later we all agreed to extend their visit.
I am confident that any exchange you consider with Anne , you will be a great experience! They were perfect guests in our home and I hope to host them again or have our paths cross in the future. We are really looking forward to visiting their home soon, in Nice. France. She offered us so much information and advice about visiting. Anne was engaging and interesting when we had opportunities to visit. We invited her to join us for dinner every night because we enjoyed her company. She worked a lot while she was her and gave us our own privacy. She cleaned up after her dog regularly and helped us with our dogs. Our dogs loved Blueberry and I’m sure they will miss her playful ways ! They were so cute together!
Anne was always respectful, helpful and a quiet guest and definitely highly recommend having them as a guest.
We loved having our friends Anne and Blueberry Maine back for a visit. We hope they make it an annual tradition!!
It was a total pleasure to be able to have Anne stay in our St. Augustine home! While we were not able to meet up in person, I feel like I got to know her and her pup Blueberry Maine from our communications. Anne was always a great communicator and I couldn't have asked for a better guest. Our home was very well taken care off while in Anne's care. If you ever get a chance to do an exchange with Anne you will not regret it! Thanks again!
Blueberry Maine and his human, Anne, were fabulous guests! They settled in nicely, enjoyed the area, and the left the house in great shape. Anne was easy to communicate with prior to the visit and fun to talk with during the visit. Blueberry Maine and his brother, Jackson, are the cutest pups and very friendly. Anne takes good care to ensure no doggie mishaps, even covering all the furniture. We welcome them anytime!
Anne, Mateo and Guy, Anne’s his father were a delight to have at the house! They are excellent guests, very easy-going and very organized! While we of course, love meeting people I think the highlight for our family was blueberry Maine, their adorable dog! I think our dog Charlie fell in love and he still misses her to this day! We hope all of our paths cross again soon someday!
Anne was such a great guest. She is friendly, respectful and grateful. Even though she was travelling with her dog (Blueberry is the cutest lovely pup) my apartment was spick and span when she left. I would be happy to host her again and I highly recommend her.
Anne was a really wonderful guest.
I had great communication with her and it was lovely having someone stay at my home that I felt so comfortable with.
I knew she would take great care of my home and my plants, as she did. I can highly recommend Anne as a guest.
Wonderful guest. Respectful and communicative. Can’t wait to have her back again. The BEST!!
Anne is the perfect house guest. Thoughtful, respectful, warm and engaging.
Her beautiful dog, Blueberry Maine, was a joy, as well.
We hope she continues on her wonderful PLU tour in the US.
Anne was a great guest and we would love to host her again. She was always very clear, kind, and responsive in her communication. She left the place in great shape and let us know if there were any issues. Safe travels and thank you Anne!
I was unable to meet Anne and her father in my Napa house for their exchange with me but the housekeeper said the house looked perfect! Communication was great and we’re very excited to exchange for her home in Nice in 2 weeks.
Anne, her father Guy and her lovely dog Blueberry stayed in my condo for a week as the second part of our non-sim exchange as I stayed in her Paris studio in February. Our communication was good and easy. As Anne has visited San Francisco she had some idea of what to expect. I enjoyed meeting she, Guy and Blueberry. Anne left my place spotless. She brought in some packages for me, and graciously adjusted her departure around our annual Bay to Breakers race, which blocked my street off for the morning. Blueberry was lovely and as a dog guest I can highly recommend her too! I am hoping that at some point in the future we can organize another exchange as I'm hoping to visit her studio in Nice.
Anne and her mother Jacque stayed in our Taos guesthouse for a week in early May We enjoyed meeting them and appreciate their nice feedback about our place and leaving the guesthouse clean and tidy
Anne and her dad and niece were wonderful guests who communicated beautifully and left the home in perfect shape ! They would be welcome anytime! Thank you !
Thank you Inna for offering a hospitality exchange so we could extend our trip by one day! Happy exchanging!
Inna’s home is very comfortable and has everything you need for a lovely stay. I especially loved the cheerful pop of yellow in the décor. The home in East Boston is conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from the T, which takes you straight into the center of Boston — the best way to avoid traffic. It’s also close to the airport, making it perfect for both arrivals and departures. My pup and I enjoyed exploring nearby New Hampshire during peak fall foliage season — such a treat! Inna was a pleasure to communicate with, always quick to respond and very accommodating. Thank you, Inna!
I arrived with great anticipation — and Michelle’s home did not disappoint! Her charming coastal house in a quiet area of Plymouth was the perfect getaway spot, just a 10-minute walk to gorgeous White Horse Beach. We loved our daily strolls along the sand and taking in the breathtaking sunsets.
Michelle was such a joy to meet in person — warm, welcoming, and full of great local recommendations. She even left us a very thoughtful welcome basket, which made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
My mom and dad had an amazing time relaxing in her cozy, comfortable home, and my dog was absolutely in heaven! The neighbors were all so friendly and often stopped by to chat with us and greet my dog as we sat in the front yard hours at a time, and the peaceful surroundings made it easy to unwind.
Downtown Plymouth, just a 15-minute drive away, was full of fantastic restaurants and charming shops — we ate some incredible food thanks to Michelle’s suggestions. We also took a day trip into Cape Cod and explored nearby towns like Marblehead, which were all beautiful and full of character.
We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thank you, Michelle, for sharing your wonderful home with us — we’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect coastal escape! 🌅🐾💛
Helen and Matt were wonderful guests—so pleasant and easy to communicate with. They left my home in excellent condition, and I truly wish they could have stayed longer. I highly recommend them to any host, and if my husband and I ever make it to Australia, we’d love the chance to meet and perhaps even stay in their home.
We hope to see you in Sydney and look after you as well. Thanks Anne and Mateus 😊
Tyra was such a lovely host, and I really enjoyed that this was a hospitality exchange with her being home. It’s always special to spend time with a local rather than just doing a quick exchange, and Tyra truly made the experience memorable. She prepared wonderful dinners each evening, often using fresh ingredients straight from her garden.
One of the highlights was our strolls along the river into the charming town of Bath, where we enjoyed coffee, did a little shopping, and took in the coastal atmosphere. I also loved the daily walks with my pup, Blueberry—she made herself right at home and absolutely adored Tyra. The two became fast friends!
I would gladly return in the future. Tyra’s location is perfect for a coastal Maine getaway, her home has such great energy, and the bed was the most comfortable I’ve slept in for quite some time. Highly recommended!
Jim and Elizabeth were absolutely excellent guests. From the start, communication was easy and pleasant, and they were a joy to host. They are adventurous travelers who made the most of their time while still being very respectful of my home. Everything was left in perfect condition, and it was clear they treated the space with great care. Beyond being thoughtful and responsible, they are genuinely kind people, and I truly enjoyed hosting them. I would be more than happy to welcome them back anytime and highly recommend them to other hosts.
Thank you
Nice and your apartment would be a place we would love to return one day. .
Time , slow down.
Elizabeth and Jim
Michelle’s son, Miles, stayed in my home, and I’m so glad his visit coincided with the Nice Jazz Festival and a concert by one of his favorite musicians in a neighboring town—perfect timing for him as a musician. He was an absolute delight to host: easy to communicate with, respectful of my home, and overall a wonderful guest. I’d be happy to host him anytime and am already looking forward to welcoming his parents next year. Beautiful exchanges with truly beautiful people.
Staying in Tamsen’s independent apartment above their home was an absolute treat. The space is beautifully decorated, spacious, and thoughtfully designed—perfect for relaxing and spreading out. One of the real highlights was their private pool, which was especially refreshing during the warm summer days.
The location in Vineland, Lincoln, Ontario, is ideal for exploring the surrounding Niagara wine region. The nearby towns, like charming Jordan, are full of character and worth a visit. Our favorite outing was to Lakeside Park Beach in Port Dalhousie, just a short drive away. It offers clear water, a sandy beach, plenty of picnic tables, showers, restrooms, a snack bar, lighthouses, boardwalks, and a lovely town to stroll around.
But honestly, you don’t even need to leave the area to have a great time. With vineyards right next to the house, you can walk to nearby wine tastings, which made for some perfect afternoons.
And most of all, if you have the chance to meet Tamsen and her family, you’ll truly feel their warmth and generosity. This was one of my most memorable exchanges—I'd happily return again with my pup, who they treated so well!
This is so lovely to read Anne. We love our home and area and are so glad you enjoyed some of our local treasures as well!
I extended my wonderful stay with Jim and Elizabeth and offered a Pluto in return—though, true to their generous nature, they would have happily hosted me as a hospitality stay. But I insisted! A quick glance at my previous review makes it clear why I wasn’t in any hurry to leave. Thank you again, Jim and Elizabeth, for your warmth, kindness, and unforgettable hospitality.
I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Jim and Elizabeth’s beautiful home in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and I can genuinely say the experience exceeded every expectation. After months of mostly solo travel, it was a real joy to share time and space with such kind, generous people — and my little corgi, Blueberry Maine, felt the same! She made instant friends with their sweet pups, and it warmed my heart to see her so happy and at ease.
From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for. We spent countless peaceful hours together on their screened-in back porch, surrounded by trees, birdsong, and mountain air. Those conversations and shared moments made it feel less like a home exchange and more like visiting family.
Elizabeth is an incredibly talented cook — her meals were thoughtful, delicious, and deeply comforting. One evening, they took me into Asheville for a lovely dinner, and on another day, they generously drove me to the iconic Biltmore Estate, the largest privately owned home in the United States. Spanning 8,000 acres, the estate was built by George Vanderbilt during the Gilded Age and is as impressive as it is rich in history. It is a highlight for any visitor.
Beyond the beauty of their home and the region, what stood out most was their warmth, hospitality, and genuine interest in connection. I left feeling deeply grateful — not only for the place to stay but for the friendship we built along the way.
I am hosting them tomorrow, and I am looking forward to it!
Oh Anne, your feedback truly touched my heart ! I still hold warm memories and miss you and Bluberry . Looking forward to visiting your home in Nice tomorrow! Until we meet again, 🏠🇫🇷❤️🇺🇸🏠
Sally and Pete previously stayed with me at my former apartment in Paris, and they were such wonderful guests that I was happy to welcome them again—this time in Nice for a hospitality stay. Just like before, they were excellent guests: thoughtful, respectful, and a true pleasure to host.
Thanks for the nice review Anne!
And for the great stay
Home exchanging with Tamara and Bill in St. Simons Island was an unforgettable experience—easily one of the best exchanges I’ve ever had. From the moment my dog, Blueberry Maine, and I arrived, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. They had thoughtfully prepared a generous welcome basket with treats and goodies for both of us—a perfect start to our stay.
Their home is a true coastal retreat. Every detail in the decor has been carefully considered, from the serene paint colors to the beautiful furnishings, all creating a sense of relaxation and charm that makes it genuinely hard to ever want to leave. It felt like stepping into a dream beach cottage.
One of the many highlights was being invited to use their pool next door. Blueberry and I made the most of it every day—cooling off, splashing around, and simply enjoying the luxury of having such easy access to it. Morning walks along the wide, open beach became part of our routine, often followed by a visit to a local café. The neighborhood itself is peaceful and lovely for strolls, and the island’s food scene is surprisingly affordable for such a special destination.
On our last evening, Bill went above and beyond helping me out with my VW van, and then—icing on the cake—they took us out on a boat ride, which turned out to be the absolute highlight of the trip. It was such a generous and memorable gesture.
There’s truly so much to see and do on and around St. Simons Island, and staying in Tamara and Bill’s home made it all the more magical. I couldn’t recommend an exchange with them highly enough!
We loved having you and Blueberry Maine. Felt like old friends were visiting … and I hope that’s what we’ll become!! Enjoy your adventures and know we’ve always got room for you!
Tamsen and her husband were genuinely excited about their visit to Nice and the surrounding areas, and I’m so happy my home could be part of their memorable experience. From what I saw in their Facebook posts, they made the most of every moment and truly embraced the adventure. I’m very glad Tamsen proposed the exchange—she’s an excellent communicator, enthusiastic about new experiences, and was an absolute pleasure to host. I am looking forward to visiting their home in the very near future.
Pete and Jasmine were only in Nice for a short stay, but they truly made the most of their time here. They were excellent guests—communicative, respectful, and thoughtful in how they treated my home. I’m hoping to meet up with them during my visit to NYC this fall, and I’d be happy to host them again anytime if they return to Nice. Highly recommended!
I’m so grateful that Pat opened their home to me, my parents, and our two pups—we had a wonderful time in St. Augustine! My family, including my dad’s dog, joined me for a week during my three-week stay, and we enjoyed incredible meals in one of the coolest little towns in the U.S. The area is very dog-friendly, which was one of the main reasons I chose this destination.
Pat’s home was perfectly located—just 10–20 minutes from all the main sights—and featured a spacious, open kitchen, dining, and living area where we could all relax and spend quality time together. The large fenced backyard was a huge bonus for the dogs, who loved having room to run and play. Pat was easy to communicate with throughout the entire exchange, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to spend time in such a special place. Highly recommended!
Bill and Tamara were absolutely top-notch guests. Fellow PLU members who had hosted them before assured me I would love having them—and they couldn't have been more right. From start to finish, they were a joy to communicate with: responsive, respectful, and always considerate.
They approached the exchange with a spirit of adventure and appreciation, clearly taking great care with our home. Everything was left spotless, and they went above and beyond to ensure the exchange was smooth and thoughtful on both sides.
This was a simultaneous exchange, and it couldn’t have gone more seamlessly. It’s always wonderful to connect with fellow travelers who treat your home with the same care they would their own. I would jump at the chance to host Bill and Tamara again—they are the kind of guests every home exchanger hopes for: kind, responsible, and a true pleasure to collaborate with.
Highly recommended in every way!
Staying at Bill and Tamara’s home was an absolute delight. While St. Simons Island and the surrounding area offer so much to see and do, I often found it hard to pull myself away from the comfort and charm of their home.
Their backyard quickly became one of my favorite spots—we dined outside at least once a day, and I spent many relaxing afternoons enjoying iced tea on the cozy patio furniture. The covered front porch, with its powerful ceiling fans, kept us cool and mosquito-free, even on warmer days.
Inside and out, every detail of the home is thoughtfully considered. The coastal décor instantly put me in a beach state of mind, and the high-quality bedding made every night’s sleep incredibly restful.
What truly made our stay special were the thoughtful touches left for us—and our dogs. From personalized bandanas and top-notch toys to oversized water bowls (which were a big hit!), our furry companions felt just as welcomed as we did. We especially appreciated the generous gifts—wine, cake, and other treats—which made our arrival feel like a celebration.
We had such a wonderful experience and are already counting down the days until we return in just a few weeks!
We are counting days too! Oscar and Olive are excited to meet Blueberry Maine finally!
Hosting Barbara and Tony was a wonderful experience. They were excellent guests—friendly, great communicators, and treated my home with care and respect. I’m happy they enjoyed their time in Nice and would highly recommend hosting them if you have the opportunity!
It was a pleasure hosting Joanna and Patrick in Paris once again. Just like before, they were wonderful guests and a joy to communicate with. Thank you, as always, for taking such great care of my home and for sharing your Paris adventures with me. You’re welcome back anytime—though next time it will be in Nice, as I’m bidding farewell to my Paris studio!
It was an absolute pleasure to host Erin, Peter, and their son during their stay in Paris, especially as one of my final guests in this apartment. Erin was communicative, respectful, and they all took wonderful care of my home. I’d gladly host them again in the future if I have a space large enough for three! Erin went above and beyond by bringing me some items I ordered from the US, and I cannot express how grateful I am for such a generous gesture. Sincerely, thank you.
You’re so very welcome. Maybe one day 2 of us can visit Nice 😊
It was a pleasure to host Scott and Christy again, this time in Nice. Just like before, they were amazing guests and a joy to communicate with. I even had the chance to meet them in person in Milan the day before they arrived, which was such a treat! Thank you, as always, for taking such great care of my home and sharing your adventures in and around Nice. You’re welcome back anytime!
It was a pleasure hosting Sarah and her daughter for their short stay in my Montmartre studio. Sarah was communicative, respectful, and they took great care of my home. I would gladly welcome them again in the future!
Rosa may be new to the PLU community, but she already feels like a perfect fit. Communicating with her was a breeze—she's prompt, friendly, and thoughtful. She took excellent care of my home in Nice, and I would be delighted to host her again in the future. I believe we've formed a friendship through this exchange.
Staying at Lisa and Kevin's home was a true delight. Their hospitality was unmatched, and it was such a pleasure to spend time with them in their incredibly spacious and beautiful backyard while our dogs happily played together. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals, which we enjoyed on the lovely back patio. The house itself was spacious and provided a comfortable night's sleep. During our week in Cape Cod, we explored extensively, and their home's great location made all our day trips possible. It was my first time visiting the Cape, and I fell in love with the stunning views, friendly locals, and amazing food. Lisa and Kevin's generosity, especially in helping us on our departure day, truly highlights the special nature of the PLU community. I hope to return the favor by hosting them in Nice someday, especially if it means I get to pet-sit Charlie Brown in the future!
Karine made us feel completely at home during our stay. Our little corgi, Blueberry, was thrilled with the thoughtful treats Karine provided, while we thoroughly enjoyed the wine, fresh bread, cheeses, fruits, and vegetables she gifted us. We spent a lot of time in Karine's home, especially watching the Olympics, and it was such a unique experience staying in a historic building. The large windows were beautiful, and the electric blinds were perfect for when we wanted to darken the space.
The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking our meals, and the rooftop offered a fantastic view of the skyline. My husband made great use of the gym access every day, which was a wonderful bonus! After a day of exploring, we were always happy to return to a super comfortable bed. Thank you, Karine, for being an ideal host and for your kindness, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
I've stayed in Rosa's home twice now, and just as I wrote last time (very descriptive review, please see), it has been absolutely wonderful staying in her home.
It was a delight to meet Rosa and stay in her home. Located in my favorite part of Paris—Montmartre—the area is rich in culture, history, and charm. Arranging the exchange and the check-in process were both seamless. The apartment stayed pleasantly cool with a fan during the summer, and it never got too warm inside. The building even has an elevator, which is a rare find in Paris. The apartment is thoughtfully decorated, with great attention to detail, and the natural light streaming in from the balcony window adds to its charm. I highly recommend dining at Le Moulin de la Galette, a historic restaurant and one of the last two remaining windmills in Montmartre, and catching a show at Cabaret Au Lapin Agile, the oldest cabaret in Paris—both are just steps away.
My dad, pup, and I stayed for a week at Carolina's home in Portland. I offered a globe for this stay, and I'm glad I did. Carolina's home is the perfect spot to enjoy some of the best attractions Portland and the surrounding area have to offer. Her swift communication ensured that everything went smoothly upon check-in and departure. I really enjoyed the covered back patio while drinking my coffee and planning my day's adventures. The apartment is well-designed, with everything you could need, plus a very comfortable bed, sofa bed, and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped as well.
Portland is fantastic, with so many places to visit within the city. Thanks to Carolina's helpful suggestions, we always had great meals and enjoyed cool restaurants and bars. Her excursion recommendations were also most welcome.
I highly recommend her apartment and location. Carolina embodies what it means to be a great PLU home exchanger.
Scott and Christy's home is the perfect spot to enjoy some of the best beaches Sint Maarten / Saint Martin has to offer. Their swift communication ensured that everything went smoothly. I spent countless hours on their huge balcony, taking in the sweeping landscape of both the French and Dutch sides of the island, overlooking the lagoons and sea. The apartment is well-designed, with everything you could need, plus a very comfortable bed and shower.
I spent five weeks on the island, with 3.5 of these weeks at their home, and I really hated to leave. The beaches were fantastic, with early mornings at Mullet Bay where my pup and I often had it completely to ourselves, and often going to Simpson Bay later in the day to enjoy the excellent service at Mary Boon's restaurant and beach bed services. Having access to the apartment complex's pool was really great too, and I often enjoyed the pool in the evening. There are also lots of restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance.
I highly recommend their apartment and location. Scott and Christy embody what it means to be great PLU home exchangers. I enjoyed interacting with them, exploring based on their recommendations, and eating at their favorite eateries, ensuring I experienced some of the best cuisine the island has to offer. I consider them dear friends now, and welcome an exchange from them anytime.
I felt completely rejuvenated after staying at Dawn and Dave's apartment. Each morning, I started my day with coffee on their lovely deck, watching deer wander through the yard. I enjoyed walking around their neighborhood with my little dog; there were so many great places to explore nearby. After a full day of hiking and exploring, relaxing in their huge jacuzzi tub was perfect. The kitchen was fully equipped, making it easy to cook whatever I pleased. The comfortable beds and variety of pillows ensured I had a restful night's sleep. Everything in their home was so well thought out, I left wanting nothing. It was also a pleasure to meet Dawn and Dave in person—they are truly lovely. I can't wait to host them in the near future and return their generosity.
Anne and her wonderful and well-behaved travel companion, Blueberry, Maine, we an absolute delight to host at our loft in Port Angeles, WA.
Friendly, thoughtful, communicative and timely. She is a perfect representation of the ideal PLU guest and new friend.
When her travel plans changed due circumstances beyond her control, she let us know right away and dealt with the interruption with grace and good nature.
She cared for our space better than most friends or family, even making friends with our cleaning partner. Without whom, we couldn't open our home to others.
She even left us thoughtful gifts behind.
We are grateful that our schedules allowed us to meet in person and look forward to staying in her home in the future.
Another amazing PLU story for the books. Just the greatest group of new friends and wonderful humans on the planet!
Just like during their stay at my Paris apartment, Joanna and Patrick were perfect guests. I would host them anytime. They are very respectful, easy to communicate with, and exemplify why the PLU community is so wonderful. Please feel free to return anytime!
I finally made it to Oregon, and I’m glad that my dad and I spent a week in Portland, a city that is very friendly and has so much to offer. There are endless things to do in the city, but also many sites to explore within 30 minutes to 2 hours away. It was so nice to come back to Cassie's home after a long day out and enjoy sitting on the covered back patio, ideal in a city that rains/sprinkles a lot. The bed couldn't be more comfortable, and I really appreciated that Cassie invested in high-quality pillows. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. This was a globe well spent. Thank you, Cassie!
Joanna's home in Napa is absolutely charming, with its pretty yellow color and lush plants all over the front and back yards. Located in a delightful neighborhood, I enjoyed walking into town a couple of times a day, admiring the neighboring houses and yards. The town itself is wonderful and offers a lot. Joanna's home is decorated with great attention to detail. I especially loved drinking my morning coffee and sipping wine in the evenings on her stunning back patio. When it was sunny, I enjoyed the covered front porch, sitting in her comfortable porch chairs. This home and location deserve a much longer stay than I was able to give it. After exploring during the day, it was wonderful to return to such a comfortable home and cozy bed. Communicating with Joanna was very easy. Everything about this stay was perfect, largely thanks to my host, Joanna.
I had the perfect stay at Liz's lovely home. My dad and I enjoyed sipping the local Napa wine she gave us on her sunny balcony, which overlooks the neighboring houses on different levels, typical of San Francisco's hilly terrain. Her home is right next to Alamo Square, and I visited the park several times a day to take in the sweeping cityscape views and chat with locals. Every night, I got excellent sleep on her very comfortable bed and reenergized in a beautifully decorated home with an incredible bathroom. Getting around the city was easy, thanks to the apartment's central location. Staying here was such a joy, and I hope we exchange homes again in the future. San Francisco has so much to offer, and I've never been more comfortable on my many trips here than I was in Liz's home.
New Mexico is incredibly special and has always been one of my favorite states. Sally and Pete's home in Taos offers stunning views of the landscape that will make you want to return year after year. Located in an isolated area, I saw wildlife every day and enjoyed unobstructed views of nature. Despite its seclusion, the home is close enough to town for all the conveniences you need. Day trips to nearby towns are easy, and Santa Fe is a must-visit. The balcony is the perfect place to enjoy meals with sweeping views, and the bed is spacious and very comfortable. Everything about this stay was wonderful, and Sally and Pete are exceptional hosts.
Karine was an ideal guest. Her communication skills are excellent, and she left my home spotless. I've enjoyed our interactions immensely and appreciate her respect for my space. I can't wait to stay in her home in Montréal next month. I'm looking forward to experiencing the same level of care and hospitality she showed during her stay. Highly recommended!
I was delighted to welcome Sally and Pete to our Paris home for a week in April 2024. Communication before their arrival was excellent. They proved to be ideal guests, treating our home with care and respect. They cleaned the apartment very well and went above and beyond in helping prepare our home for the next set of guests arriving after their departure, which was greatly appreciated. I would not hesitate to host Sally and Pete again, but hopefully at my home in Nice. My mom and I are looking forward to visiting their home in Taos in a couple of weeks!
I was delighted to welcome Joanna and Patrick to our Paris home for a weekend in April 2024. Communication before their arrival was excellent. They proved to be ideal guests, treating our home with care and respect. Joanna even went above and beyond in helping prepare our home for the next set of guests arriving after their departure, which was greatly appreciated. I would not hesitate to host Joanna and Patrick again, which may very well happen when they visit our home in Nice. My dad and I are looking forward to visiting their Napa Valley home in a few weeks!
Hosting Liz is a real pleasure. She is easy to communicate with and very thoughtful in everything she does. She treated my home with great care and I am glad I had the opportunity to host her and her friend. The presents they left me were very nice touch. I am looking forward to staying at her home in San Francisco with my father in a couple of months.
Hosting Xenia and her family has been a pleasure. They treated my home with a great deal of care and it was really clean upon my return. Communicating with her was easy and I am happy to know that my home played some role in her family's Paris adventure. I recommend hosting Xenia if given the opportunity.
My family and I loved being hosted by Michelle and her husband Marc. They went out of their way to ensure we had a trip of a lifetime. Eating dinner with them one night in their lovely home really topped off the visit. My niece and I had a great time visiting the local beaches, especially Nahant Short Beach, and surrounding towns. I highly recommended staying at their home and hosting them in yours!
Michelle and her daughter treated my home with care and left it in excellent condition. Communication went smoothly. I highly recommend them as guests in the future. I’m looking forward to my visit to Swampscott and meeting in person. Thank you Michelle and Stephanie!

I am originally from the US and earned my Ph.D. from SMU in Dallas. I moved to Italy ten years ago, where I eventually ended up meeting and marrying Matteo. He often travels with me, but sometimes I travel with my dad and/or one of my nieces and nephews. I teach history and US and global politics. Right now I work remotely, so I am able to travel much more than my husband. We recently adopted a corgi dog named Blueberry Maine because we love Maine and blueberries so much. While we are residents in Lodi, Italy, we have studios in Nice and Paris, France, making it pretty easy to swap.

This is Place Massena, which happens to be the city’s largest square. This place is a center of the main gatherings and events for the community living here. It's a 3 min walk from our studio. Our street is the one between the two buildings.
A view of the port from a lovely hike you can take up the castle and park overlooking Nice. Or you can stroll from the apartment to the port along the sea and be there in 15 mins.
In the evenings Cours Saleya market in Old Town Nice transforms its space for restaurants that line the street. It is on the very next street from the apartment.
This is Fontaine Miroir d’Eau at the Promenade du Paillon and you can stroll along or pause on on of the many benches or sit in the grass. It is a treasure and only a 3 min walk from the apartment. You can see the tower to the left, the tower from my window and just two streets over from this park.
Cours Saleya market in Nice is at the heart of the Old Town and it’s always pulsating with life. Striped awnings cover its centre and shelter the products on offer in the daily market of flowers and veggies/fruits and some other treats. It is on the very next street from the studio.
Less than a 5 min walk from our studio is this lovely street in Old Town.
View from our window.
This is the front of our building.
Our little Blueberry Maine enjoying the sunset in Nice.
One of our favorite restaurants in Old Town, a 4 min walk away.
If you’re traveling with large luggage, please note that space is somewhat limited. There is a small closet available for your use, and you can also store luggage under the bed—provided it’s no larger than 23 cm x 113 cm (9 in x 44.5 in).
