General Overview

Located in the beautiful seaside town of Mount Maunganui on New Zealand’s beautiful North Island, Fairway Lodge is next to a golf course and very close to the ocean beach.

The resort is a comfortable oasis where you can relax by the pool with your favourite book one minute and the next head off to Ocean Beach and feel the sand between your toes. The swimming, surfing, and diving are excellent, while the fishing is exceptional. Tauranga is just a short drive away and there you can experience the rapidly growing café scene, delicious dishes and vibrant open air dining as well as shops, wineries and so much more.

The Space

Fairway Resort offers 16 spacious and comfortable apartments with a maximum occupancy of 6 per apartment. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, the main bedroom has a queen-size bed and ensuite, the single bedroom has twin beds and the sofa downstairs folds out to accommodate two people.

Each apartment has a full kitchen, including microwave, full oven and dishwasher. Apartments also provide guests with 2 television sets, one video/DVD player, a full laundry and 2 bathrooms. All linen is also provided. The generously sized apartments are perfectly suited for family holidays or two couples holidaying together. Fairway lodge provides guests with plenty of space to relax and recharge.

It was great to stay in Mount Maunganui near the end of our lengthy trip to New Zealand. It's a pleasant beach/resort community with good opportunities for swimming and long walks on Omanu beach (only five minutes walk from the resort). One day, I even walked an hour on the beach into town. You can take day trips in multiple directions, but if the weather is good, you can enjoy hanging out locally. Welcome features not highlighted in the listing include two entry doors: one directly from the easy assigned parking, and the other to an entirely private hot tub opening to an outdoor sitting area and the pool area. This allows a good cross-draft. Convenient kitchen and laundry. Great for families. All communication with Berwyn was direct and easy and we look forward to hosting them in future.

Robin and Ian stayed at our timeshare in Mount Maunganui for a week near the very end of their extended NZ holiday. We didnt get to meet them both as planned unfortunately due to a change in schedule but right from the start Robin has been a pleasure to deal with, easy to correspond with and we would have loved to have spent some time with them. We are really looking forward to staying at their lovely place in Victoria when we head to Canada and hopefully we will be able to meet then.

We have just completed an amazing exchange here at the beautiful home of Kim and Vicki. Their home is impeccably presented with top notch amenities to match. The one level home is open plan with the most amazing outdoor kitchen and covered living area where we spent most of our time enjoying the fabulous Queensland weather, swimming in the pool or enjoying the fabulous view of the canals. It is such a welcoming environment with thoughtful personal touches and has a true retreat feel. The kitchen is equipped with everything or anything you could desire to cook with and the library is a delight to spend time in perusing their books. We had the pleasure of meeting up with Kim and Vicki who are just lovely and were really inspirational to listen to talking about their many travels. They are experienced home exchanges and this shows in their wonderful communication and comprehensive house manual which clearly explains everything and is full of great local recommendations. We were welcomed with a most generous gift and even the outdoor table set for Christmas which was very unexpected. Pelican Waters and Caloundra is a really lovely spot on the Sunshine Coast and we would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone who is looking in this vicinity. We feel very grateful for the opportunity to have stayed in what felt like a slice of paradise and to also have the pleasure of meeting Kim and Vicki who we hope to stay in touch with.

We had the pleasure of hosting Gabby and her family at one of our timeshares in Queenstown. Gabby was great with communication and we trust they enjoyed their skiing holiday in a beautiful part of NZ> It was a shame we couldnt meet up while they were briefly in Auckland but we maybe will meet sometime in the future if we head to their beautiful place in Bali.

We had a wonderful time in Justine and Charles beautiful apartment at Kangaroo Point. The apartment is just lovely with an outstanding view particularly at night with all the twinkling lights. The apartment is set up really well and very tastefully furnished. The building itself also has an indoor swimming pool and gym as well as direct access onto the river path. Brisbane is a great city with so much to see and do and Kangaroo Point is in such a wonderful position close to everything with the CBD and Botanic gardens just over the footbridge. There are lovely cafes and restaurants within walking distance and so easy to uber anywhere. There was a beautiful goodie box to welcome us and Justine and Charles were just so helpful and accommodating with any questions we had. We met them briefly and hope to meet up again when they come across to NZ. Highly recommend a trip to Brisbane and this lovely apartment!
