General overview

Actively trying to earn globes! $220 fee to cleaner for all swaps, the house is so big it is expensive to clean. 

Beautifully designed, charming 6 bedroom cabin that mixes luxe magic (gold accents, leather, velvet, massage chairs, cozy blankets, bold colors) and  homey comfort (cotton bedding, inherited furniture pieces, painted paneling, mismatched dishware, older home updated with heart). Lots of extra amenities including hot tub, fire pit, fireplace, hammocks, massage chairs, BBQ, foosball table, wii, board games, directTV, coffee/ hot chocolate/tea, bar with espresso and ice maker, and special toys just for dogs and/or kids. 

Like it's literary namesake, the Burrow is on several levels and has a unique layout. The parking is a steep looped drive that comes down from the street in one direction (4wd recommended in the winter). About  20 feet over,  the top level of the house is down a short flight of stairs from the street. The upstairs has the kitchen and dining table with seating for 10+, a living room with fireplace/cozy seating/desk area, and three bedrooms.  Down the stairs you will find a game room with foosball table, comfy couch,  two massage chairs, and wet bar area with espresso maker.  The game room leads into the den with large convertible sectional, plenty of cozy throw pillows and blankets, directTV, and wii with games.   Down the hall are a hall bathroom, and 3 more bedrooms. Outside the den through the sliding door is the patio with our 7 person hot tub with privacy screen, and the fire pit is on a round concrete slab in the center of the yard.  

We have beds for 12, but will sleep up to 16 (two couches plus one giant sectional in the den that can sleep 2-4, or like 8 kids) . All Bedrooms all have 100% cotton bedding, a mix of down alternative and feather down pillows, closet space, and room darkening or blackout curtains.

Downstairs sectional- the ottomans fit into the sofa to create a big flat "bed" area roughly the size of two queen beds pushed together. (When we use the cabin and have a big group we throw 5-10 kids on there and put on a movie til they all pass out, and the adults relax in the upstairs living room.)

Pack n Play

We provide extra pillows and cozy blankets for snuggling, fresh clean towels,  shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Waterproof vinyl plank flooring throughout the home, custom lighting, and a mix of new and vintage furnishings. 

Wraparound deck. Propane BBQ and electric grill for guest use. Downstairs there is a covered patio  with faux living wall privacy screen and our brand new Hot Tub (very excited!), patio seating, a few hammocks,  propane fire pit with Adirondack chairs, and a tie-out run for dogs is out back.  Double lot (parking loop takes up most of the second one). You can see your neighbors but home feels very private due to being set down below the street. Convenient location  close to town. Very Steep driveway with parking for 2 vehicles, the rest can park on street . 4WD or chains recommended, or ask us where to park if you are worried about your car's abilities!

We ARE strict about no parties- even though I know it's a sweet set up, it's also a residential area so>>> no loud music, especially at night, especially outside as we have had complaints/police calls from the neighbors! We have noise monitors in each living room. These DO NOT record- they just send an alert if there is sustained loud noise like a party- normal kids yelling won't set it off (trust me my kids are loud too!). If it goes off I usually send a text asking you to keep it down. If it keeps happening, especially after 10 pm we will escalate. We also have one exterior noise- activated camera facing the front stairs to monitor arrivals/keep tabs on the house. 

NOTE: The cleaning fee is a contract rate that goes entirely to the professional cleaning team hired to clean the home between each group. I can't always change how Airbnb displays our price, but it always includes that cleaning fee and we try to be upfront about that, but cannot waive their fees without sacrificing the quality of our listing. They provide a valuable service and we deeply appreciate them!

Neighbourhood

Ruidoso is popular for skiing and snow play areas in the winter. In the summer, people like to escape the heat in the mountains, plus there is the casino, horse races, hiking, fishing, hunting etc. Great place for a family reunion! 

We usually try to have swaps during the week, as it is usually rented on the weekend on Airbnb.
