Hospitality Description: This is no longer my primary residence- it's not a "mainstream" kind of a dwelling... though people like us may have an appreciation for its uniqueness. I'm open to long/short term stays and possibly exchange though I'm pretty busy running courses here in Bali, also Kenya and Costa Rica. Open to work exchanges also as bamboo needs ongoing maintenance.

General Overview
This Urban Jungle Bamboo House welcomes you to find home for a while in surprisingly quiet surrounds. Experience Local life nestled amongst the cityscape adjoining the Seminyak Green Belt, behind Legian and Double Six Beach. Explore your creative side in our craft workshops and see what it's like living in a house made all out of Bamboo!
If you want to experience the less touristy side of Bali, but still be close to the beach, nightlife and fantastic food, then look no further... Our Jungle House is right in the heart of Padangsambian (which you've probbly never heard of if you're not local) in close proximity to beach, local market, western supermarket, Australian School, nearby walking track along the river and next door with our friends at Bali Street kids project.
The Space
Feel the tropical breazes from the balcony on the third floor of a unique bamboo design home... Simple affordable bamboo design and .eco-conscious living with upcycled materials and ecobrick policy for plastic waste with a naturally cool grass roof.
On the third floor we have a dorm-type main bedroom with 4 single bunks and 1 double bed - all with mosquito nets.. There is a day bed/guest bed downstairs in the lounge/dining/kitchen. The kitchen is simple with a gas cooktop, and most things you would need to prepare a meal, fridge and water dispenser (we don't drink tap water) - although local food is so good that ordering-in food is a tempting go-to. Bathroom is downstairs in the lower level as there's no insulation in a bamboo house...
Guest Access
Whether you're a family travelling with kids, a group of friends or a solo-traveller, you can find your bamboo Zen here. The house is 3 level with 5 person dorm in the 3rd floor and balcony; A double day bed + bunk and living/kitchen area on the secong floor, and; Workshop, bathrooms and laundry on the first floor. Good Wifi functions throughout. Easily accessible via Gojek/Grab. 15-20 min to the beach by bike. The house is not presently wheelchair accessible.

After spending time in the Philippines with my daughter living with local families and witnessing local living conditions, observing existing bamboo-working skills, I was perplexed as to why people were reluctant to build their homes with bamboo. This experience ignited my personal drive to raise awareness and share skills about bamboo treatment methods and building, making it more affordable, accessible, and attractive. (My listing is the home i constructed for my daughter in Bali).
My experience building with bamboo and facilitating workshops is detailed at www.bamboocreative.org/bali
