General overview

Our home was designed with same features as the Temple of Frescos at the Tulum archeological site, though much larger and with standard features like 2 full bathrooms and a kitchen. It is an open floor plan, with the ability to move furniture or partially enclose spaces for more privacy. For sleeping spaces: on the first level there is a small semi enclosed room, with 2 twin beds, also another area can be semi enclosed and fits a double bed. The second level is one large room with a queen bed with plenty space to setup additional beds. The home is on 10 acres or private jungle, with only minimal construction including small guard house at the entrance, a large swimming pool, a palapa with 1 bedroom/1 bathroom, and a small road that runs through only the first half the land up to where the house is situated. Fresh water is pumped directly from underground rivers to service the house, palapa and guard house. While there is internet setup at the main house, there is no telephone service due to dense jungle. The jungle is a beautiful space, some areas with visible pathways but most is wild. It is safe and quiet, easy to explore, but necessary to use common sense. There are all sorts of animals live in the jungle and we have seen many during different seasons including monkeys, wild turkeys, silver foxes, iguanas, butterflies, and even traces of jaguars and . Besides some landscaping, the land is kept in its natural state and is a great space to reconnect with nature. There is space for bonfires at night and there is a telescope for truly excellent star gazing. The land is about 10km/6miles outside of Tulum town, along the only 'highway' (2 lane road) that goes West to the pyramids at Coba. There are 5 cenotes in between including Cenote Calavera for diving. A car is necessary for ease of travel, although biking or coordinating pick up with a local taxi driver ahead of time is possible (there is no uber or lyft in Quintana Roo). It is a short and easy drive into town for groceries, restaurantes, shops, nightlife and takes less than 20mins to get to the beach or the archeological site.
