Hospitality Description: We are looking for a holiday home swap . Initially we are hoping to swap with someone in the Squamish BC area of Canada whilst we visit family for three weeks June July 25.

Spacious accommodation with stunning countryside views of the Pennine hills. Private outdoor amenities to front and rear with BBQ terrace. Easy access to the beautiful Yorkshire countryside but still close to all amenities and travel hubs.

The Space

The property enters into a large through space consisting of fully equiped newly fitted kitchen leading to downing area which will site 6 comfortably . and then onto a living room. The room is light and spacious . There are two double bedrooms a full bathroom with shower over and a second ensuite shower room . The master bedroom leads by patio doors onto an external sun terrace , In addition we have a music room with a baby grand piano leading to a front Sun room. We have private gardens to front and rear with BBQ facility . Two electric bikes are available . we are ideally situated to visit large towns such as Manchester , York London or Edingburgh by car or train but live in some of the best cycling , hiking and walking countryside

Notes

Car advised but not essential . We have local buses 2 an hour two mins walk from the house . Main north south Highways the M1 and M6 and less than 40 mins away and the main train station at Wakefield gives two our travel to either london or Edingburgh . The famous Lake district is 1.5 hours by car Activities and places are two numerous to mention here but please enquire further

3 pubs in very close locality , village shop about 20 mins walk away in neighbouring Scholes . Bus stop adjacent to the property giving public transport links to the larger small market town of Holmfirth. Footpaths adjacent and quiet country lane walking into local beautiful penning hills. Ample safe off road parking

Train from either Manchester airport or the main London airports to Huddersfield or Wakefield then local busses Car recommended but far from essential .

Manchester 50 minutes by car , 1..5 hours by public transport

Getting Around

Local shop 15 mins walk away . or 15 mins on local bus to main shops in Holmfirth Market town ( 50 minute walk ) Electric bikes also available.

Nick and Janet Charlton , We are now retired and have been married for 50 years and live in Holmfirth West Yorkshire UK . We have three grown up sons two who live in London and one who lives with his wife and our only grand daughter In Squamish BC Canada. We ran our own business's until 2022 . Janet is a music / piano teacher and I ran with her help a Construction Project Management business providing Architectural and building regulation services .We had a 4 bedroom villa built in Portugal which we ran as a holiday let until 2019 when the birth of our Canadian grand daughter changed our direction of travel. We have built in our spare time and lived in number of houses but now live in the beautiful Pennine hills of West Yorkshire , We are keen walkers and cyclist .
