Tu & George were wonderful guests! From the start the communication was fun and easy. George immediately fell in love with my three fury boys without even knowing where we were located haha. Tu & George spoiled them so much they didn't even blink an eye when we got home. As if they barely noticed we were gone ;)
They left our house clean and tidy and they even replaced the food we left.
Hopefully we get to meet in person one day. Feels like I made a great friend!
Tu & George were exceptional guests in many ways. First & foremost, they helped with acquiring, delivery and setup of our Neocharge home wifi. Tu was an excellent communicator and kept us informed during the exchange process - when they arrived and when they left.
We were also impressed by how respectful they were of our house rules. (Japanese quietude, trash disposal guidelines etc) They were also very generous in sharing their travel tips for Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto & Hiroshima.
Thank you for being such a wonderful guests!
Tu and George were great guests, they were communicative and positive at all times. It was really good to see them enjoying my local area in Edinburgh and other areas of Scotland during their stay. They looked after my home perfectly.
We didn’t get to meet face to face, but maybe another time.
Tu & George were our first guests at PLU. You couldn't ask for a better start. They were actually our dream guests. Guests who temporarily move to Vienna, live and work in Vienna, Austria in the medium term and not just for a few days.
We could completely rely on them. Not only did they keep our apartment tidy, but they also helped keep our IT office running.
Tu keeps you updated every day - we learned quickly every day what life is like in Vienna.
It was a great security for us to know that our apartment and office were in good hands.
George and Tu stayed in my place for a little over a week in May 2023.
They were the perfect guests.
Communication was easy and pleasant and frequent.
They left my place in pristine condition; it was such a pleasure for me to walk into my own home and find it so clean and tidy.
I highly recommend swapping with or hosting George and Tu; lovely, realiable and trustworthy people.
They can definitely come back to my place.

Tu & George were excellent guests.
They took very good care of our house and left it very clean and tidy.
They are very nice and kind people and they were very interested in Barcelona and how to enjoy it, as well as enjoying typical Argentinean food 😋.
We can't wait to visit their city and enjoy their home 😁
Tu and George were an absolute pleasure to host during our first ever home exchange experience. As first-time home exchangers, we were a bit nervous about the process, but Tu and George made it such a wonderful experience.
They were extremely respectful and considerate of our home and belongings, and they left everything in perfect condition upon their departure. They were also great communicators throughout the entire process, and making sure that everything ran smoothly.
We feel incredibly lucky to have had such wonderful guests for our first home exchange and we would highly recommend them to any future hosts. We would love to host them again in the future.
We are grateful that Tu and George could stay in our home and take care of our pet and plants, while we were on a trip to Italy. We had a change to meet both before and after the swap which was wonderful.
They took excellent care of our flat and prepared it for our next guests, who reported that everything was tip top! Our communication was smooth and easy both before and during the exchange.
We will be happy to host them again any time and can highly recommend an exchange with this lovely couple.
Thank you Tu and George and maybe we’ll se you again one day in Copenhagen 😊
Iris is very nice and welcoming with a bubbly chatty personality. We had great chats in some evenings together. I love her stories and kind hearted acts. Her kitty is so cute, she loves touching and cuddling.
The location is very convenient, Albert supermarket right across the street, pharmacy and a couple of bakeries nearby, about 7min walk to the nearby bus and tram stop, and half an hour to Lelylaan train station that leads you to other Dutch towns.
Iris' home is in an old building with some charm and characteristics of its own. I had never been to such a social housing unit before. Quite an interesting experience.
I stayed only a couple of nights as Iris' single guest during my stay. She offered me her winter bedroom which provided some privacy (I expected to stay in a bunkbed with others). The room is rather crowded with an electrically adjustable single bed and an "ensuite" shower booth, but I didn't mind. As a minimalist who used to do couchsurfing during my youth and not so demanding, plus I only came back to sleep and left early in the morning, I found the accommodation quite decent. Unexpectedly tap water in the home is non-drinkable, but that's fine for me as I could fill my bottle in many fountains in the city centre where I spent most of my time during the day. The wooden stairs (2 floors) are quite steep and narrow (no lift), but fortunately I only have a small backpack and a light small suitcase.
This stay is for me an experience out of my usual comfort zone, but I know Iris has a big heart to share, and she has given her best. She opens her home and heart to welcome me. I had a chance to see for myself the seriousness of Amsterdam's housing crisis, and how many local Dutch elderly are and will be suffering. I'm certain it is the case for many Europeans too.
For anyone who demands more comfort, higher quality, tidiness and cleanliness (like my picky husband - see how spotless our home is!), this might not be the place for you. For solo backpackers who have been to remote parts of the world and can stand various inconveniences with a positive attitude, this would be an unique experience I would recommend to try.
Thank you, Iris, for your time and hospitality. We are looking forward to hosting you in our spare bedroom in Vienna soon.
Tu
All good, thank you Teresa and Masami. Looking forward to your visit in our new home in Vienna!
Lisette and Aaron, thank you a million for letting us stay at your new home in Gouda and spend a wonderful time with your 3 little angels aka monsters. We came with lots of treats and catnip, then we left with lots love and Bodhi's hair. Hahahaha. Oh we miss them very much.
Anyway, back to feedback. The home is cosy, nice and big. Very clean, of course, but only if you make sure the cats don't sneak out the balcony and bring in whatever they can grab to remain outside :D 15min to the city centre with the cool Thursday cheese market, and right next to a big green field where you can immerse in to escape from the bustling big cities.
It's such a wonderful retreat to us. Lisette is always available for any questions. We had a lot of fun talking even though we haven't met in person.
This is one of the most memorable trip we have on PLU, thank you thank you thank you!
Tu & George
We left Osaka with a heavy heart after 4 weeks staying at Teresa and Masami's home. This city (and country in general) is wonderful. We wouldn't have a chance to have such a dream-like trip if not thanks to the hospitality and kindness of these two hosts.
We came with excitement, then we left with even more excitement and a lot of memories. Maybe a few more kilograms too, because the food is so good. :)
Teresa and Masami, many many thanks! We wish you a lot of wonderful home exchange experience on PLU, and we are looking forward to hosting you at our homes!
Brian, Sara + mom are wonderful guests!
Great communication! Our exchange agreement was very quick as their travel plan matched well with our time away. It was fun to talk and laugh about a lot of things with Sara. Brian asked about different things around the flat, which showed how careful and respectful he was. We are grateful to this family, who took care of our home (and our plants) while we were a quarter of the earth away.
It was nice to see how they enjoyed Prague, it brought joy to us as hosts as well. We would definitely love to host them again should they plan to come once more.
Thank you, and we can't wait to plan our trip to Phuket in the near future.
It's our pleasure to host Brigitta and Rene as our first guests in our holiday house in Pangandaran. They are respectful and nice guests, they gave us a lot of good advice about how we can improve the attractiveness of the place, they left the house in good condition.
It is a holiday house in a newly established gated community in a destination more oriented towards local tourists, therefore there are indeed some inconvenience, such as a shortage of English speakers and less services. We appreciate their understanding and open-mindedness to dive into the unknown, think outside of the box, and explore the area on their own. That's bravery!
Peter, Izabela and their daughters stayed at our place for about 3 weeks. It is our pleasure to be their first home swapping partners. With this feedback we confirm that they are wonderful guests - highly recommended for other PLU members!
They are very respectful and kind. We had a few video calls before their arrival. Communication was regular and easy. (We had to excused ourselves for some technical issues with the kitchen LED light during their stays, which we couldn't fix in time for their arrival. But Peter was very understanding and kind, even tried to help!)
They left our place in tidy and clean condition as we wished for.
I have to mention, their daughters are TALENTED ARTISTS! The paintings are just, wow, so surreal.
We glad you had a wonderful time in Prague, wish you many nice exchanges ahead!
Tu & George
We are so grateful that Alison and Steve welcomed us for a long 3-week stay at their big house. Edinburgh feels like a second home to George and finally I have the chance to visit such a beautiful city with rich culture.
Communication between Alison and us was always smooth and easy.
We love the location of their home a lot. It's close to the park, the shore, the city, bus stops, and even a package-free shop which we visited often. The manual has all instructions we need, and their list of restaurants are full of good suggestions.
We experienced floor heating for the first time in our life here - what a difference! :)
We thank them for their hospitality, and wish them a lot of nice exchanges in the future.
Very happy to welcome Melina and Max to our home in Prague.
We would highlight our great communication with Melina during their stay. There was a small stain on our wooden kitchen counter but they informed us right away so we discussed the solution. This shows how respectful they are to any small details in our flat.
You and your family are welcome back anytime, let us know and we will be delighted to host you again!
Brigitta and Rene were our hosts for nearly 6 weeks in Vienna, and now have become our good friends. We are honoured to be their first home exchange partners, and by this feedback we can assure you that they are a true PLU member: kind, friendly, selfless, and open-minded.
Communication with Brigitta has always been easy and chill. We started chatting with her at the beginning of spring and finally exchanged in the summer. She gave us guidance on everything, answered our (many many) questions, picked us up at the metro station when we arrived, and showed us around their location. They invited us for a tasty homecooked dinner, shared with us their life stories and a lot of tips about Vienna & the surroundings. They were so kind to lend us their office too! Their homemade champagne is super tasty.
Brigitta & Rene’s home is in the best location in Vienna. It’s a few minutes’ walk to the clean & clear Danube where we swam in everyday, a few minutes to the metro, and right next to Danube park. Billa supermarket and good restaurants are right downstairs, a few steps away. Within 5-10min bike we could reach many restaurants, Danube island hosting many summer events, 2 shopping centres, BIPA pharmacy, a gas station, even a bike repair stand. We brought our bikes from Prague so in fact we only used public transport twice. 20-30min on the bike brought us everywhere: Prater amusement park - 15-min, the city centre ~25-30min.
We stayed in AP1, not where they live but it is fully furnished. We are minimalists and mostly cook basic food so it’s totally sufficient for us. Whatever we asked they lended to us: a TV, good knives, a wine opener. Even their office kitchen is well equipped.
We thank them for their kindness and hospitality during our stay in Vienna, and are looking forward to hosting them in our Indonesia house this winter!
This was the biggest surprise on PLU so far! After sending many messages in vain to try collecting Globes (as we needed to experience different locations before choosing our dream home), we received Sabrina's reply, full of enthusiasm and kind supportive words. Without knowing when they could stay at our places, without any home feedback on our profile, she gave us her trust and offered us their Globe. We are so grateful.
Finally the day came. It was our pleasure to welcome Sabrina, Margherita and Davide. What an honour to have them as our first guests ever. Very warm, kind, and easy-going. We were nervous as our flat might be small and not as convenient as many other homes we have been to, but they kept reassured us that it was all fine. They brought us tasty made-in-Padova pastry, a cute mozaic porcelain souvenir, and tea tea (so thoughtful of them because we said once that we love tea) :)
We returned to a tidy home. We didn't expect much cleaning/tidying as their flight was super early in the morning. How respectful and thoughtful they are.
No wonder why they have done 91 exchanges and counting.
Sabrina, you and your children+partner are always welcome in the future. PLU community is blessed to have you.
George and I had fun even before arriving, because his manual made us laugh one page after another. Lots of good info and tips, of course.
Million thanks to Padraig and his top notch hospitality. We were welcome with a bottle of wine, some snacks and breakfast goodies. There are lots of maps and guides on his desk, ready for us to explore.
His home is clean and convenient, with many stores, pharmacies and restaurants nearby. Our stay was comfortable and joyful. We often walked to La Defense metro station (13min from his home), which led us to all touristic landmarks in 10-20 minutes. Our offices in La Defense and Neuilly-sur-Seine area are just 10-20min's walk away from this flat. All in all this is a perfect spot for our stay.
Looking forward to hosting you, Padraig!
Melina and Maxi are really kind, we can't say thank enough. Our stay is perfect.
- Their home is nice, clean and full of sunlight in every room. They left us some space in their wardrobe, in their fridge.
- Their hospitality is top notch. We were greeted by their friend who waited for us till midnight as our flight got delayed. They sent us a brochure with excellent tips in advance (which we followed and got their by bus from the airport, the eur20 monthly ticket), also a google map link to all their fav restaurant. Communication is always smooth.
- We were welcome (surprisingly) with a bunch of goodies from both Spain and Argentina: a tasty bottle of wine, olives, Argentinian sweet alfajores and some candies. Yummy!
We can't wait to host you in our Prague home, guys.
Everyone, if you want to visit Barcelona, look no further, DROP THEM A LINE! Their bucket list is really long, chop chop, let's cross it off!
Thank you so much for your kind words 😊 We are super glad that you enjoyed Barcelona and our home!! You are amazing guests 🤗
10 out of 10 points, no, 15 out of 10!
We contacted Páll when he already offered his home to someone else, but he was so kind to arrange for us to stay at his parents' home (1st surprise), plus letting us use their car (2nd surprise). We also had a chance to visit his home during our stay. As a minimalist couple, we have to say both apartments are above our expectation and need, no doubt beautiful, neat, large and warm :) While energy prices are going through the roof everywhere in the world and everyone is trying to save on heating, their homes are blessed with geothermal heating like the rest of Iceland, so our stay is very comfortable despite the temperature reaching -20 degree C sometimes (3rd surprise).
Location wise, Hafnarfjörður is conveniently located between the international airport and downtown Reykjavik (both homes' location). The Flybus service provides transportation to and from the airport, whose station is within walking distant. While it is not very central, we love how special, quiet, cute and friendly this place is. After 2 weeks staying there, we drove back to the apartment from Reykjavik without navigation.
Communication is seamless and easy, making us feel welcome and comfortable. We also appreciate their brochure with clear instructions, a long list of recommendations about what/where to do/go/eat and how to hunt for the aurora. Páll even shared with us travel típ like using coupon app, which gave us several discounts for services during our stay (4th surprise).
We can't be grateful enough. There is no better way to travel than home exchange; and Pall's family is one of the reason why we have such a great community at PLU.
Home: 10/10 ⭐️ cosy, lovely, clean, close to the beach 🏖 not far to city centre by bike, very good bikes are available for guests’ use.
Communication: 10/10 ⭐️ experienced host, very friendly and supportive.
George and I stayed at Anja’s home for nearly 2 weeks, can’t explain how grateful we are. Her family welcomed us with local beers and snack plus a HUGEEE folder/guidebook full of guides, maps and tips. They were so thoughtful to prepare even keys and tools for the bikes 🚲 Our holiday could not be so great without her suggestions throughout our stay. There is a guinea pig and many plants to take care of but detailed instructions are in the guidebook so it was easy for us to manage 😉
Luckily after the exchange we had a chance to meet up for a cosy dinner with Anja, Torben and their son Theo, it was amazing.
We are thankful for the exchange and really recommend others who visit Copenhagen to give Anja a message - you won’t be disappointed.

WRITE US, we won't bite. GLOBES WELCOME!
We are minimalists and low-waste followers. We can't wait to welcome you to our new home in Vienna, our a seaside house (secondary) in Indonesia, and Tu's parents' eco oasis at the edge of Hanoi Vietnam. We seek joy from helping others, being productive, good food, roller-coasters, biking, diving, exchanging cultures, and absorbing knowledge.
George is a typical full-remote IT guy 💻. An introverted "country boy" from a tiny village. The first one with a degree in his family. Having lived in Prague, Edinburgh and Palma de Mallorca, he is passionate about biking and water sports. He has SCUBA dived 50+ times! George has a kind heart, his veins are full of scars from blood donations, 15+ years! Whenever there’s a problem in our building, he is always the first one jumping in to solve. He is (a bit too) proud of his 1500+ streak on Duolingo. He dreamed of relocating to a bike-friendly coastal city in Europe, and together with me we ended up choosing a riverside flat in Vienna.
Tu is a real estate valuer in an international firm, also full remote. Having lived in Hanoi, Prague, Colorado, Strasbourg, she thinks global and acts local. After her quarter-life crisis in 2019, she finally found the core values that she happily lives by: Compassion❤️, Integrity ⚖️, and Making a difference🎗️. She started donating blood from the same age as George did. Since 2017, striving for an eco-friendlier world is her focus, at home, at work, and everywhere she goes.
We will treat your home like ours if not better. Looking forward to your exchange inquiry!
Sending hugs,
Tu & George
"For our parents to visit us from Vietnam after 8 years. Our dad just fought stage-3 cancer and recovered, this might be his last trip to Europe. They are kind, super organised and clean! Any time up to 90 days (Schengen visa limit)."
