We had a truly lovely stay at Tu’s place in Donaustadt, Vienna. Our experience started with a night of hospitality, followed by having the entire apartment to ourselves, which worked perfectly.
Tu and her family are quiet, respectful, and very considerate. We didn't hear their child at all at sleeping time- he’s wonderfully well-behaved at night. One of the highlights for us was a peaceful daytime stroll where Viet carried Tu’s baby, who fell asleep on his shoulder -such a calm and heart-warming moment. Tu also cooked for us, which made the stay feel especially welcoming and personal.
When we had the apartment to ourselves, everything felt comfortable and easy, whether we were relaxing at home or heading out to explore the city. We especially enjoyed the large TV and the very comfortable sofa - perfect for unwinding after a day out. My siblings enjoy sleeping there in the living room too as they can just turn off TV and fall asleep. 2 people fits the bed in the small bedroom perfectly as well.
In terms of location and transport, although we mostly used a car, the apartment is right next to a metro stop with a direct connection to the city center, so it’s clearly very convenient for public transport as well. Parking was easy too - there’s plenty of space, and using the Bmove mobile app for day parking was both cheaper and simpler than taking a physical ticket.
Before leaving, we ran the robot vacuum and mop and informed Tu, who was able to start the washing machine remotely via her mobile app - such a smooth, modern, and thoughtful setup.
Tu’s communication is absolutely superb. She truly sets a high standard for home exchange, and she inspired us with the level of care, hospitality, and organization she offers. We would love our own guests to have the same kind of experience.
We fully recommend exchanging homes with Tu, or staying at her place via non-reciprocal options like Globes or Plutos - it’s absolutely worth it, especially in such a lovely, upscale area of Vienna.
