General overview

Welcome to Prague! 👏 Our home is out of touristic hub, but near all amenities & public transport. 13’ to centre. Ergonomic workzone. Non-allergic. If you are eco-loving, health-conscious and low-waste followers, there’s no better option 🤗

The space

Our Holey Homey is a small flat with 1 bedroom 1 bathroom (bath + WC together) ACTIVITY ROOM (or dinning room with kitchen and workspace) 👩‍🍳 Kitchen: mostly Miele build-in appliances, dishwasher, combi stove with microwave oven, induction cooktop with safety lock, all utensils & tools 🍽 massive wood dinning table & 2 real leather chairs 🖥 ergonomic work station for digital nomads: electrical height-adjustable table, height-adjustable office chair with head rest, PC monitor & docking station 🎹 Piano August Forster RELAX ROOM (or bedroom) 🛌 1 multi-functional king bed 180 x 200 cm plus wardrobe and hanger (we will leave space for you) 📺 TV 42” with Chromecast for Netflix from your devices EXTRA upon request: 🛌 1-2 foldable guest beds 🛌 2 camping air-mattresses which can be zipped together We host Couchsurfers and single travelers like this. NOTES: 🛋️ We have an inflatable sofa for you (normally we don’t need it, we sit too long at work already). 🌤 there is a shared common balcony on each floor (but please 🚭) 📦🧳 STORAGE (basement): 3m2, plus a shared storage for bikes & strollers. ℹ️ It is our home - our heart - our “baby”, which we arranged completely ourselves with the help of an eco interior designer. NOT basic Airbnb or cheap IKEA Knoxhult done within 2 days ℹ️🌱As eco-lovers 🍀, we furnished our home by following the Zero Waste and Buyrarchy of Needs principles: 70% of materials and parts are sourced secondhand; new things were made of the most eco, durable, high-quality an health-safe way we can. It took us more than half a year! Instead of nasty formaldehyde smell, there is a lovely natural smell from durable repairable FSC-certified solid wood furnitures protected by EU-made linseed oil. Eco claypaint on the wall from Germany with no VOC. Secondhand built-to-last appliances by Miele. We are planning to switch to renewable electricity when the current contract expires. We have a low-waste minimalist lifestyle; plus we believe strongly in a sharing+circular economy 🙂

Notes

🚭 NON-smokers, ❌ No party (building rule) 👶👦 A couple with 1-2 kids or up to 4 adults could fit here if you don't mind sleeping on fold out guest beds. The cooktop has child lock. The windows have metal nets to prevent mosquitos, which could serve as an extra security measure preventing accidents from mischievous climbing. The most natural and eco products we can find are used. However, please be aware that there is no kid-proof things like corner pads for furniture or child lock for kitchen cabinets. ⚠️ Noise @ night: our windows & super thick walls block most noises, but beware some trains pass by at night. When the Windows are closed, it’s quiet, but in the summer if you prefer the windows open, ear plugs are recommended. 💡Light: there is no curtains as we enjoy being waken naturally by the sun. We have 2 sleeping eye masks for you if you don’t have your own. 🙏 Please keep kitchen counter and all wooden surfaces dry, especially around the sink, by wiping immediately when anything spilled. Massive wood & plywood require some care, you know. 🙏 Our plants need watering from time to time 💦

Tu & George

WRITE US, we won't bite. GLOBES WELCOME! We are minimalists and low-waste followers living in Prague, with a beach house in Indonesia. Recently persuaded my parents to offer their home near Hanoi, thus there is a 3rd listing on our profile. We seek joy from helping others, being productive, good food, roller-coasters, biking, diving, exchanging cultures, and absorbing knowledge. George is a typical full-remote IT guy 💻. An introverted "country boy" from a tiny village. The first one with a degree in his family. Having lived in Prague, Edinburgh and Palma de Mallorca, he is passionate about biking and water sports. He has SCUBA dived 50+ times! George has a kind heart, his veins are full of scars from blood donations, 13 years and counting! Whenever there’s a problem in our building, he is always the first one jumping in to solve. He is (a bit too) proud of his 1000+ streak on Duolingo. He dreams of relocating to a bike-friendly coastal city in Europe. Tu is a real estate valuer in an international firm, also full remote. Having lived in Hanoi, Prague, Colorado, Strasbourg, she thinks global and acts local. After her quarter-life crisis in 2019, she finally found the core values that she happily lives by: Compassion❤️, Integrity ⚖️, and Making a difference🎗️. She started donating blood from the same age as George did. Since 2017, striving for an eco-friendlier world is her focus, at home, at work, and everywhere she goes. We will treat your home like ours if not better. Looking forward to your exchange inquiry! Sending hugs, Tu & George
