Neighbourhood
Our neighbourhood is a quiet leafy green residential area with plenty of families about. It is quiet at night time despite being close to town. Davidsons Mains is a few minutes walk away for supplies from Tesco or a ten minute drive is Craigleith with Marks and Spencer, Sainburys, Nandos, Lidl, and a gym.
Nearest airport
Edinburgh Airport 15 minutes away. Glasgow 1 hour drive, Newcastle 2 and a half hours
Getting Around
The bus routes in and out of town all pass from around the corner from our house.
We use Uber too, especially when there is 4 of us it can be cheaper than all getting the bus.

Hello I am Alison, mum to two boys age 5 and 3. We love the outdoors, bike rides, boat trips, and great adventures. Prior to having children, myself and my husband Alex loved travelling the world which has been on hold the last few years due to Covid and back to back babies. Highlights our travels have included snow mobiling on a glacier in Iceland, standing on the Great wall of China and seeing elephants on Safari in Sri Lanka.
Joining PLU has completely changed our lives, I am so grateful to the community for the memories we have been able to make with our boys. In a year we have had 4 exchanges and so far 3 more planned for 2026. We can’t wait to see where PLU will take us next!
