Neighbourhood
We live in a quiet neighborhood 15 minutes from Brest.
It is the ideal starting point if you like nautical activities (port of Brest), beautiful beaches (20 min by car) and walks on the coast of Finistère or on the islands (Ouessant, Molène, Bréhat, Batz by example).
There are several golf courses near the house as well as equestrian centers if you like to ride horses.
There is no shortage of cultural visits in Brest and its surroundings and Brittany is rich in lovely discoveries: historic towns nearby (Quimper, Locronan, Rennes, Nantes, etc.) and a wide choice of music festivals in the summer. Océanopolis is a must see and the exhibitions of the Leclerc Cultural Fund should not be missed.
We are not very far from the ferries to go to England (Plymouth). Paris is one hour by plane or 5 hours by car or TGV. Normandy and the Landing beaches are 4 hours by car, Saint-Malo and Mont Saint Michel 3 hours by car.

If you want to cross the Channel to go to England, there are many ferries from the north coast to Plymouth or planes from Guipavas (low coast plane).
Paris is one hour with the plane and 5 hours drive with just express way or TGV (high speed train). Normandie area is just 4 hours drive from home: you can visit the D-Day beaches, the memorial of Caen, and all the American cemetery. The Mont Saint Michel and Saint-Malo city are 3 hours from home.
