People Like Us Local Guide
Happy to meet people near Seattle for a glass of wine or coffee. Our main home is in Woodinville, WA so easier to meet up in the greater Seattle area.
Cute and cozy cabin nestled into the woods. Secluded and felt like a true get-away! We appreciated all the communication with Marc and Jacky before our stay on specifics for the property. Being so close to all the popular hiking trails meant we were able to beat the crowds and enjoy some areas to ourselves! Thanks for a relaxing stay!

So happy you were able to experience and enjoy the PNW hikes during fall and the changing of colors. Looking forward to exploring your area in Fenruary!
This was my first PLU experience, and I couldn’t have asked for better hosts than Jacky and Marc! They set up a FaceTime call to make sure I had all the info and welcomed me into the PLU community with open arms. They sent check-in details and recommendations ahead of time and were super accommodating when we needed to shift the trip by a day.
I had some urgent work matters come up right before the trip and didn't make it in the end but my family had an amazing time! They loved the cabin and enjoyed many of Marc and Jacky's recommendations like Picture Lake, the Chain Links Trail to Iceberg Lake, and Nooksack Falls. Thanks for making their trip so special!
This is an ideal ski cabin or summer hiking cabin! It’s nestled into the rainforest. The hot tub is very private and if you’re not from the PNW, the forest will be a real treat! My boys found fairy doors!
It’s a 20 min drive to the ski hill which is laid back ski hill with minimal to no lines. Lots of expert terrain especially if you go slack country or back country.
We even did a day trip to Seattle from the cabin!
The cabin was super clean and comfy. Perfect for families. Highly recommended!!!
Jacky and Marc’s cabin is perfectly placed for skiing or summer activities at Mt.Baker. The cabin is beautifully furnished with tons of natural light and yet cozy and very comfortable after a day in the snow. Great amenities particularly the hot tub set up and large deck.
Wish we’d brought our dogs!
Proximity to town (Glacier) super easy to get the best coffee and breakfast at Wake’n’Bakery and the Glacier ski shop and supermarkets.
North Fork Brewery also recommended.
I am hoping to do a summertime visit and make the most of trails, hiking, tennis and pickleball!!
Jacky was a wonderful host. Her communication was great. The cabin is absolutely gorgeous! We had a lot of rain while we were there, but watching the forest, listening to the rain on the roof, and stoking the fire was a wonderful way to relax! It is definitely on our list of places to come back to next time we're in the area!
Adorable, cozy, and clean A-frame cabin located in the forests near Mt Baker, Washington. Jacky was very easy to work with and sent every detail we needed to know beforehand and was so accommodating when our travel party unexpectedly increased by 1 person and we were arriving after midnight. The area is stunning in everyway and not crowded (at least in the summertime), even on the 4th of July weekend. Summer hiking abounds, and I hear winter skiing here is top-notch. The hot tub was enjoyed by all of us since summer temperatures can still be quite chilly. 100% recommend Jacky's cabin and this "off-the-beaten path" area of the Pacific Northwest!
Jacky was so wonderful in her communications. She responded quickly to any texts or emails. They left our place sparkling clean. Very respectful and easy swap!
Jacky and Mark are super fun guests. Great communication at all times and left our beach cottage impeccable. We would love to have them back anytime.
Jacky and family were great. We got to meet them for an evening with impromptu dinner and wine. They left the "house" clean and they were happy. That's the best, right?
Jacky and her family were wonderful guests. They left the space sparkling clean and even did the laundry prior to their departure. We do look forward to visiting their home in the future!
Jessica and her family were wonderful guests. Communication from the beginning and throughout was great. When are travel plans are iinclude her part of the world we certainly will reach out.
Thank you Jessica.
Carey's condo is on the North side of the island. It was fun to explore this area as we usually stay in Kihei. A wonderful bay sits just in front with great snorkling, a variety of fish and lots of turtles.- Rent snorkle exuipment at Snorkle Bobs and you are set! The condo is comfortable and has a great view of the bay & ocean, fabulous sunsets too. Easy parking. The condo was well equiped and we appreciated the beach chairs and beach towels to use at Napili Beach nearby.
We had a facetime call with Carey which was fun to connect. Checkin/out was easy with their property management company.
We paid the $325 cleaning fee via Venmo to Carey
Highly reccommend and would love to stay here again!
Rebecca & Larry were wonderful guests. We had a video chat and a few emails before their stay to answer questions, get to know eachother and share check in and out instructions. I was super happy to hear that they enjoyed a few wonderful fall hikes in our area. We would love to have them back anytime~
Yanni and her family were wonderful guests at the Baker Place Cabin. Communication was great. We coordinated via FaceTime prior to their arrival to get to know each other and answer any questions. We look forward in staying at Yanni’s place in Vancouver BC in early January 2025.
Tanya was great at communcating. We had a video chat beforehand and txted.
It was a fun "local" drivable exchange. We each got to see a little of the area and ski a new mountain.
Home was clean, fully stocked with essential items and very comfortable.
Good directions were given. Ferry was easy to use.
Parking was a little tricky as there was a snowfall before we arrived so only 2-3 spots open and filled with snow. Luckily a tractor cleared a spot for us. A little bit of a walk with gear took several trips. I understand you can call a service which we would reccommend if you have little kids, elderly or a lot of stuff.
Area is lovely! Would be great for hiking in the summer too~
Matt was great and even txt me a few pictures of the snow at the cabin. I think they had a great time. It was a pleasure having them as our guests. I later found out that Lisa did not make the trip but am hopeful they will come back another time and Lisa can enjoy the cabin and the area.
Since we had already done our exchange and met Matt & Lisa at their home last October, I felt comfortable and that we already had a friendship so they would let me know if they needed anything when staying at our home.
Lisa & Matthew were wonderful hosts!
Great communication from the begining, wonderful greeting with hawaiian treats & beverages upon arrival. Was able to play tennis with Lisa and her friends which was a great bonus. We loved the umbrealla and beach chairs too. The nearby beaches are GORGEOUS!!
The cottage was cosy and comfortable, it had everything you need and super clean.
We look forward to hosting their family at our Mt Baker Cabin in February!
Jacky
Barbara & Jack were wonderful hosts and their guest house in west Hawaii is comfortable and well equipped. They are seasoned exchangers and have the perfect set up. We look forward to returning some day!
Bevan & his family were great guests. I appreciated the communication and prompt responses. We would be happy to host again!
Estela and her family were great.
I was able to do a call prior to her arrival, great communication throughout the planning process and stay.
Really appreciated that she shared with me how much her family enjoyed it, along with some of the things they did during their stay. We would love to have Estela and her family back to the Baker Place Cabin in Glacier, Washington any time!
We had a wonderful stay in Colorado Springs. Kayla's place was very clean and had so many wonderful "extras". She had farm fresh eggs & snacks for us that were greatly appreciated. I loved the bath and the bath bomb after I did a big hike- heaven. The bed was super comfy. It was very spacious for just the two of us. The location and parking could not have been better for all the things we did over the weekend. 5 Star rating for sure!
Looking forward to hosting Kayla & Ninya ( & family) at our place sometime in the future~

We are an active family that loves to ski/snowboard. We also like hiking, and all water sports (boating, wake surfing, surfing, swimming and just sitting on the beach). Love to experience unique local attractions (like a hidden waterfall, scenic hike or wonderful restaurant).
