Neighbourhood

There is a fantastic farmer’s market downtown every Saturday morning, which moves inside on a bi-weekly schedule during the winter months. We live minutes from multiple playgrounds, the paved river walkway knows as 'the Greenbelt,' an elementary school, tennis courts, public library, public pool and recreation center, soccer and baseball fields, the Illecillewaet river trail system and the downtown core.

Nearest airport

Kelowna is the closest airport is just over 2 hours away and has a shuttle service between Kelowna Airport and Revelstoke: https://revelstoketransfers.com/services/airport-shuttle/. Calgary is the next closest, and much larger, airport where there are also shuttle services: https://www.airportshuttleexpress.com/revelstoke/ We can also include a vehicle in our exchange and there is the possibility to leave it at an airport for pickup.

Getting Around

Most amenities are within walking distance, and there is a possibility that we may be able to leave our vehicle for you to use as well, depending on the situation. Revelstoke also has a public transit system that can get you to most places around town: https://www.bctransit.com/revelstoke/

Naomi

Hello! We're a family of four from beautiful Revelstoke, BC, surrounded by mountains, rivers, and outdoor adventures. I'm a District Vice-Principal and Learning Support Teacher, and my husband is an Educational Assistant and children’s art teacher. Our kids are 8 and 11. Our son loves skiing, biking and soccer. Our daughter adores ALL animals, especially horses, and loves dancing and singing. We also have a dog named Rudy, and two guinea pigs, Coconut and Chorizo. We love to travel and explore the world together. We've already spent time in Central America and Mexico, and we're excited to keep discovering new cultures, making connections, and meeting kindred spirits through PLU. When we're not in school, you’ll usually find us outside, skiing, snowboarding, biking, hiking, or swimming. Whether it’s local trips around BC or far-flung international destinations, we’re always up for an adventure and love living like locals wherever we go. We look forward to connecting with other families, sharing stories, swapping homes, and building friendships through travel.
