Neighbourhood
Frillesås is a charming little town with friendly folks and everything you need - but not more! It has beautiful, quaint beaches (both rocks and sand) and you'll always find the locals sunbathing or swimming when the weather turns warm. There is a grocery store and hardware store both approx. 10 minutes' walk from the house. There is also a pizza/etc. restaurant in the "center." You'll find local playgrounds for the kids and plenty of walking and biking trails to explore. A 10 minute walk away there is a public tennis court (fee to rent). There is also a gym/padel center in the neighborhood.
Ride your bikes to the next town north, Vassbäck for a larger swimming area and diving board (and a local restaurant we can recommend). A large, popular sand beach can be found in the next town south, Stråvalla. Åsa, also accessible by bike to the north, has more restaurants and a train station to get you to your next destination.
We are 35 minutes by car to Gothenburg and 3 hours by car or train to Copenhagen. The surrounding areas and Gothenburg are a great option for families or seasoned travelers alike:
Haga District – Stroll through cobblestone streets lined with cafés, vintage shops, and Swedish charm.
Liseberg Amusement Park – One of Europe's most famous theme parks, including fun for all ages.
Universeum – Interactive science center and aquarium — a hit with kids and adults alike.
World of Volvo – An interactive experience combining innovation, design, and Swedish culture.
Göteborg Botanical Garden – One of the largest botanical gardens in Europe, perfect for a peaceful day out.
Slottsskogen Park – A huge city park with playgrounds, walking trails, and a free zoo with Nordic animals.
Feskekôrka (Fish Church) – Historic indoor seafood market and a must for local flavors.
Outside of Gothenburg, be sure not to miss Hede (outlet shopping), Tjöloholms Slott (castle), or take some day trips south to Varberg or Falkenberg.
Craving Swedish candy? Head to Godishavet, about 20 minutes away for a huge selection.
