This home was built by my grandfather in the 1980's. He intended it to be a place for family and friends to gather away from city life and without a television so people could gather and connect. It is an incredibly peaceful retreat into the Catskill Mountains when I am longing for nature and adventure. It's a very special place to our family are happy to share it with others.
The space
The house has an open floor plan and loft with two separate bedrooms. The bathroom is newly renovated, and there is a large porch that nearly wraps around. There is a newly built large staircase from the deck that goes down into the yard where we have 13 acres surrounding the house. Plenty of room to walk and wander! There are lovely woods that can be fun to explore in. Up at the top of the road there is a pond that is nice to sit by or stargaze. We get a lot of stunning stars!
We have a bunch of yoga mats that can be used (we often do yoga on the deck) and many various games.
In the winter this is a fantastic ski retreat because we are only 10 minutes away from Belleayre Mountain!
If you are skiiers or snowboarders looking for a mountain getaway, this may be the perfect thing, with the perfect cozy fireplace to match.
There are many creeks, lakes, quarries, and other bodies of water nearby. There is also a small man-made beach only 15 minutes away that is fantastic for the summer. You really do have many options!
Guest access
There are two floors, a small set of stairs entering the house and a larger staircase coming down from the back deck. We have great wifi.
We leave a lockbox for you with the key, and are available to answer any questions!
Notes
My mother often imagined this place as the perfect place for an artist's retreat. Either alone if you're seeking solitude, or with a group of people cooking and creating together. There is much space to gather and also walk off on your own.

Getting to my home
There is a long rocky road leading up to the house, so it is best to have 4-wheel drive.
Getting around
It is ideal to have a car in upstate new york, but there are trains and busses that run north. My father would take the bus from Manhattan and I would take the bus from Oneonta, NY (where I went to college).
