General overview
Welcome to Amsterdam.
We would love to invite you to our home, to the city we love so much: Amsterdam. It is a new architectural building and our apartment is completely designed by ourselves.
We have a big 100m2 - 2 bedroom + 1 office apartment in the Eastern part of Amsterdam. We live on IJburg. It's an Island which has great vibes.
IJburg is a great location - next to the IJ lake and a very big city beach - with good options to be in the city centre in 20 minutes by tram. Or take the bike like all Dutchies do.
The space
It's a 100m2 apartment on the second floor (with lift), 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom with big bath and walk-in shower with infrared sauna and 1 office. So perfect for relaxing, city sightseeing or even remote work.
We have a very big balcony on one side and on the other side a nice terrace.
We have a big open kitchen with everything you might need during your stay. Like a high speed blender, oven, microwave, big fridge and freezer and a lot of Cookbooks.
In the living room you can relax on the couch, watch some TV, read a book or have a nice dinner at the big dinning table.
We have a lot of books in our house. In English, Dutch and French, so for everyone there is something to read.
We also have quit a lot of games to play.
We don't have kids but since I'm a child therapist I do have some stuff at home to play with.
There is an office that sits 2 persons with two big screens. It faces the terrace with sliding doors.
We have two double beds, so a family of 4 can stay at our place comfortably.
We could always put up a 5th bed in the office if needed.
The bathroom is very luxury with a big bathtub and walk in shower. In the shower you will find a infrared sauna.
There is a small laundry room with washing machine and dryer.
Notes
We have two cats, Lewis and Jamie.
They are super sweet and easy going.
We would like our guest to take care of them during the exchange. Some food and cuddles is enough to keep them happy.

Neighbourhood
We live in Amsterdam Oost - on the island IJburg. In the eastern part of Amsterdam.
It's a very nice neighborhood, all houses here are designed and built by the people themselves. The architecture is very interesting.
Our house is just a 10 minutes walk from the big city beach. You can swim, SUP and surf. It's amazing on the IJ lake.
IJburg is very up and coming and you have everything you need close by but you still have a very chill vibe going on.
The tram stop is walking distance and this will bring you in 20 minutes to the city centre.
Just 5/10 minutes walking or biking will bring you to grocery stores, restaurants, coffee places etc.
On the beach there is an amazing Japanese restaurant you will have to try out.
Don't forget to try a warm Stroopwafel or Poffertjes on a market!
We will give you a lot of local tips, so that you can explore the real Amsterdam.
If you happen to be vegetarian or vegan then Amsterdam is the place to be.
Off course also if you do eat meat there are many many good options.
Perfect location for a trip to Amsterdam.

Getting to my home
We have great access by plane (Amsterdam Schiphol) or train.
Our house is easy to reach by tram and bus. Uber or taxi can be used as well.
We have bikes available when you want to try the local bike experience.

5-10 minutes walk till the closest shops and restaurants.
20 minutes by tram into the middle of the city centre.

We are Julien and Jitske.
French-Dutch couple living in Amsterdam.
We have our perfect modern architectural house in Amsterdam Oost-IJburg. Here we live together with our two cats, Lewis and Jamie.
We would love to exchange houses and invite people to our home and give them a Local Experience!
Amsterdam is lovely every time of the year and has lots and lots to offer.
Julien works as a E-commerce consultant and Jitske is a special needs inclusion coordinator and child therapist.
Basically we can arrange exchanges during most school holidays and for ( long ) weekends.
We love big cities and (tropical) beaches and islands.
We both are into history and love to snorkel. We fell in love with Iceland and NYC is high on our to visit list.
We both don't drive a car so looking for places that are easy to get around walking, biking and with public transport.
