General Overview

Mangawhai Heads is a small, coastal town, less than 2 hours north of Auckland airport. We have recently moved there from the South Island, and are so far loving the beaches (a whole coast full of them), the estuary and the friendly community. You can play golf at one of 4 top NZ courses, surf or swim at one of the many beaches, spot wildlife (including a variety of birds), walk, bike or enjoy the cafes and nearby vineyards. Our house is just a few minutes walk to the estuary in a quiet part of “the Heads”.

Modern home with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, open plan living and soon a sauna!!

There are stairs from the front door or garage to the main part of the house.

The internal stairs have open railings, so it is not suitable for young children.

Neighbourhood

Mangawhai is a beach town, so most activities are outdoors: - swimming - surfing - golf - bird watching - kayaking/ paddle boarding There is also a small museum, art galleries and cafes/ restaurants.

Getting to my home

Most people fly into Auckland. From there you can rent a car to drive north (approximately 2 hours to Mangawhai).

Jacky

We (Jacky and Mike) are an active semi-retired couple who love the outdoors. Having recently moved north to Mangawhai Heads, we are enjoying the beaches, estuary, bush and birdlife. We prefer active and intrepid travel, but equally appreciate a mid-winter trip to a warmer destination (eg Australia). If we’re lucky, one of our 2 children and their partner will travel with us.
