General overview

This old house shelters us, brings us together, warms us. I love its low-ceilinged rooms, the wood fire in the living room, the different spaces so that everyone feels comfortable, and the extraordinary garden with an incredible view of the countryside and the forests. You just have to leave the house, take a few steps and you find yourself in the forest for hours of hiking through woods, fields, rivers,... the landscapes here are breathtaking! 10 minutes from La Roche-en-Ardenne where the medieval castle awaits you and many activities such as a game park, kayaking, mountain biking,... We haven't done an exchange yet, this is new for us and we are very enthusiastic about the idea of exchanging our house for a few days, but also our habits, our advice for an unforgettable stay. We will be very respectful of the cocoon that you will share. Welcome to paradise with our 2 cats Pacha and Cléo who are independent, they come and go as they please and only want to be fed.

The space

It's an old house renovated 15 years ago, which served as a gîte, and we have lived there for 3 years, my 2 sons and I. It is a house without luxury but with every comfort. Warm, practical thanks to 2 toilets, a laundry room and a garage. There are 3 bedrooms: Ch 1: a 160*200 bed, very comfortable latex mattress, high quality Bedroom 2: 1 bed 90*200 Bedroom 3: 1 bed 90*200 + 1 identical in a drawer under the bed, on casters. The cozy living room contains a wood stove with glass, There is a flat screen, Netflix, a good internet connection, outdoor and board games. The 700m2 garden with a view of the countryside is extraordinary and offers a swimming pool (3*2m) in summer, a swing and a pétanque court. Aromatic herbs just need to flavor your dishes.

Notes

Opposite is the very clean farm of the owners who are always present, discreet and friendly. Life here is sweet, punctuated by the rhythm of the farm where you can get fresh milk :)

Neighbourhood

The house is in a cul-de-sac, so there is no traffic except the farmer and walkers. The village is small, has no shops, you have to go 3 km for a bakery and 5 minutes by car for other shops (market, pharmacy, bookstore, doctors, etc.) There are many choices of restaurants in the region, for all budgets and of very good quality. I will be happy to provide you with the right addresses.

Hello! My children Jean (12) and Louis (9), and myself, Christelle (44), love discovering new countries. We particularly appreciate nature and calm but are open to any suggestion of discovery.
