General Overview

This old house welcomes us, brings us together, warms us. I love its low ceiling rooms, the wood fire in the living room, the different spaces to make everyone feel comfortable, and the extraordinary garden with an incredible view of the countryside and forests. All you have to do is leave the house, take a few steps and you find yourself in the forest for hours of hiking through woods, fields, rivers,... The scenery here is breathtaking! 10 minutes from La Roche-en-Ardenne where the medieval castle awaits you and many activities such as a game park, kayaking, mountain biking,... We have not yet made an exchange, this is new for us and we are very enthusiastic about the idea of exchanging our house for a few days, but also our habits, our advice for an unforgettable stay. We will be very respectful of the cocoon that you will be willing to share. Welcome to paradise with our 2 cats Pacha and Cleo who are autonomous, they come and go as they please and only want us to feed them.

The Space

It is an old house renovated 15 years ago, which was used as a gîte, and we have been living there for 4 years, my 2 sons and I. It is a house without luxury but with all comforts. Warm, practical thanks to the 2 toilets, a laundry room and a garage. There are 3 bedrooms: Bedroom 1: a 160*200 bed, very comfortable latex mattress, high quality Bedroom 2: 1 bed 90*200 Bedroom 3: 1 bed 140*200 The cosy living room contains a wood burning stove with glass, there is a flat screen, Netflix, a good internet connection, outdoor and board games. The 700m2 garden with views of the countryside is extraordinary and offers a swimming pool (3*2m) in summer, a swing and a petanque court. Aromatic herbs are just waiting to flavour your dishes.

Notes

Opposite is the very clean farmhouse of the owners who are always present, discreet and friendly. Life here is sweet, punctuated by the rhythm of the farm where you can get fresh milk:)

Neighbourhood

The house is in a cul-de-sac, so there is no traffic except the farmer and walkers. The village is small, has no shops, you have to go 3 km to a bakery and 5 minutes by car for the other shops (market, pharmacy, bookshop, doctors,...) There are plenty of restaurant choices in the area, to suit all budgets and of very good quality. I will be happy to inform you of the right addresses.

The house is located 1 hour or 1 hour 30 minutes from 3 airports: Charleroi and Liège: 1 hour Brussels and Luxembourg: 1 hour 30 minutes

Hello! My children Jean (14) and Louis (11), and myself, Christelle (45), like to discover new countries. We particularly appreciate nature and calm but are open to any proposal of discovery.
