General overview
Experience Canada's National Capital from the tranquility of a quiet neighborhood. Aylmer has a charming historic main street with many restaurants, cafés, and shops. Fall in love with Canada's natural beauty with Gatineau Park and the Outaouais River close by.
Single family home in a quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to all amenities and many activities. Cycling, hiking, beach, parks, tennis courts, shops, restaurants, bowling, skatepark, billiards, dog park nearby.
3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, fenced backyard. Currently 1 full-size bed in the primary bedroom. 2 full-size pull-out couches and an air mattress - great for kids or teens. We are setting up an additional King sized bed, so please advise if that would make or break an exchange.

🐾 Our pet-sitting offer: we would love to look after your pets! Our home is always open for sim exchanges, but if you're not interested in our area we could pet sit for you in a non-reciprocal exchange. We are experienced with pets - we've done lots of pet-sitting this past year on Rover (13 five star reviews - https://r.rover.com/gajM9J) and have fostered 11 stray or neglected dogs through to adoption.

The space
- Large open concept kitchen and dining area (dishwasher, Kitchenaid stand mixer, Nespresso, Chemex coffee, coffee grinder, milk steamer, waffle maker, panini press, soda stream, rice cooker, slow cooker)
- Bright living room with large pull-out couch and widescreen smart TV (Netflix, Disney, Prime video, YouTube, TSN)
- 1 primary bedroom with a double (full) bed
- 2 bedrooms are being used as a home offices. We can set up a full air mattress if children would like their own room.
- Fully fenced backyard with barbecue and outdoor dining set (and a pretty great garden - help yourself to fresh veggies)
- Basement living room with pull-out couch, home gym (walking pad, stationary bike, yoga mats, dumbbells, exercise ball, etc), and bathroom with shower
Accessibility:
The ground floor entrance is functionally the basement - it has a living space, bathroom and shower, and spare room (currently being used as a gym). This area doesn't have any steps to enter, but the doorway into the spare room and bathroom is too narrow for a wheelchair. The main floor is up a flight of stairs.
Notes
Ottawa and the surrounding area are super calm and safe. Relax! No need to worry about any of the crowds or dangers of travelling to touristy cities.
Ian and I have lived in Ottawa most of our lives, and absolutely love it. We can help plan your trip and notify you of any events of interest during your stay.

🌷 Bike days: many parkways are closed to cars in Ottawa/Gatineau for active transportation in the spring/summer/fall (bike, walk, jog, skip, etc)
🌷 Cabane à sucre/Sugar shack: the taste of fresh maple syrup on your breakfast is the best way to celebrate the coming of spring
☀️ Bluesfest: Ottawa's largest music festival (July)
☀️ Relax, swim, paddle, or volleyball at many Ottawa/Gatineau beaches (yes, it gets very hot in Canada 🥵)
☀️ Canada day! Ottawa throws excellent events including concerts and fireworks (July 1st)
