Visão Geral

Everyone who has stayed here has LOVED it. Stunning scenery, history (Norman Castle), independent shops (butchers, fishmongers, produce) and multiple cafes and restaurants, friendly locals. Mumbles has a real buzz about it. Langland and the beach huts are iconic in South Wales beach terms. Within 30 mins more stunning beaches and within an hours drive huge access to mountains, Triassic coast, Welsh valleys, Brecon Beacons and the capital of our great country, Cardiff. We have had guests from all over the world. Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Europe, Israel and America. They have all had a wonderful time!

O espaço

Kitchen/DIner: Large, open plan, family living space. Range cooker, stainless steel surfaces, modern appliances and a large family kitchen table. Patio doors on to paved area with seating and the garden. Playroom: coming off the dining area so you can keep an eye on the little ones as you cook. Flat screen TV, sofa, games, large desk and a wood burner Front room: A calm, grown up room with stylish interiors, a wood burner and a flat screen TV. Books, large sofa (becomes sofa bed) Hall: Light and airy hall with piano and comfy chair with Stanley Chow prints that are always a talking point Bedroom 1: Double with ensuite and views of the garden and the sea. Built in wardrobes. Bedroom 2: Lovely Surf styled single bedroom with desk and hanging/modular storage. Bedroom 3: The perfect kids room with bunks (the bottom bunk is only suitable for a child) and plenty of room to play. Light and airy with views of the tree tops and morning sun. Surf/Star Wars and football themed! Bedroom 4: The hideaway in the attic. This double room in the eaves is cosy but perfectly formed with an ensuite and shower. The kitchen faces onto the Garden so you can watch the kids enjoying the garden. There is a patio with sitting area and a table for alfresco dining. There is a trampoline and a Wendy house to keep the little ones happy and a climbing wall and Basketball hoop for the bigger ones. The front of the house faces onto Langland Bay Road which is a main road and can be busy in the summer but the elevation of the house and the aspect means it feels protected from the road. The pavement is wide and the 5 min walk to the beach is an easy one down a lane and steps. The back of the house is on a quite private lane and you can access the 2 parking spaces from the lane. The garage is NOT offered for use as it is used for our storage.

Vizinhança

MUMBLES Mumbles is a small, vibrant village described as the gateway to the Gower Peninsular. It is 15 mins West of Swansea City centre and its shops and amenities. Mumbles has lots of lovely cafes, restaurants, a mix of chain and independent retailers with long established, well supported local businesses such as Olives and Oils Deli, Cheers Wine Merchants and Joshuas Barbers. Oystermouth Castle offers an impressive backdrop to the village and is often to visit or you can picnic in the grounds for free with views over the sea. The sea front offers a perfect biking, scooting and skateboarding surface for families, interspersed with regular places to stop for ice cream and coffee which stretches from the Mumbles lighthouse, pier and RNLI Lifeboat, which is free to visit, right around into Swansea Marina,. LANGLAND Langland is our local beach and an easy 5 min walk down the lane and some steps (uphill on the way home obviously!) Langland is loved by locals all year round but can get busy in the summer months. You can have dogs on the beach from May - Sept. The Surfside Cafe is popular for coffee and lunch and is owned by our neighbours. Langlands Brasserie at the far end offers an extensive al a carte menu as well as having a bar and an Italian Patisserie section. Activities are tide dependent but at low tide you can explore the rock pools and the wonderful rock formations particularly those to the East of the beach towards Rotherslade. We leave lots of maps and info at the house. GOWER The Gower Peninsula was the first named Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK in 1956. It remains both outstanding and beautiful. There is a beach for all occasions depending on how you feel. There are the ice cream, cafe, amenities beaches of Langland, Caswell and Oxwich. The secret low tide jewels like Mewslade. Three Cliffs and its sand dunes and limestone cliffs is a favourite for a day out and the sweeping Rhosilli Bay is hard to beat on the world stage. These two beaches in particular have won lots of awards over the years. The Wales Coast Path stretches around the coast of Wales (as the name suggests...) You can walk the 22 miles from Rhosilli back to Mumbles or the other way and use taxis or buses to get you back to your car. We will leave plenty of detailed information. Visit Swansea Bay is a useful resource.

Locomoção

Walking distance with hills from amenities. Drive from elsewhere. Bus service is ok but not always reliable.
