General overview
Our studio overlooks a creek frequented by blue herons, and resident ducks who can sometimes be coaxed to eat from your hand. Private park-like backyard with a picnic table and hammock swing available for guests’ use. A small table near the windows of the studio acts as a desk and overlooks the yard. Perfect for artists, writers, plein air painters, or anyone who enjoys relaxing in a peaceful natural setting. A short walk to the harbor with access to Lake Ontario. Just down the street is a picturesque land preserve with hiking along the lake, fruit orchards, and forest. Two other parks are also within walking distance, one lakefront, one wooded.
The space
700 sq ft studio with an open floor plan.
The space is bright and airy with natural light from two overhead skylights.
Coastal vibe with decor reminiscent of our many trips to the state of Maine.
Flexible sleeping arrangements with a king or two twins.
A raised queen airbed and/or twin airbed are also available.
Kitchenette with microwave, Keurig and regular drip coffee maker, toaster, mini fridge. No stove.
Full bathroom with walk-in shower.
Self-controlled air conditioning and heat.
Yoga mats and ample floor space available.
Our main house is on the same property, so in a non-sim exchange we will be neighbors.
Notes
Please ask if there are any special accommodations you need. If we are able, we are more than happy to do what we can to make your stay the most comfortable it can be.
We have a well behaved, non-shedding, mini bernedoodle as part of our family. She has spent time in the studio, though not on the furniture. She might be present in the yard, leashed, in a hosting situation. We will never expect pet sitting as part of an exchange, but would appreciate it if offered. We are open to pet sitting for others. Will consider (on an individual basis) one well-behaved dog as a guest.
We are sensitive to smoke and therefore cannot have vaping nor smoking of any kind on our property. Thank you for understanding.

Neighbourhood
Our little historic hamlet is quiet and very safe. We have a small local history museum, and Gates Hall, the oldest continually running small theater in America. This is the heart of apple country. Miles of beautiful blossoms in spring, and you-pick fruit farms in summer and fall.
When the salmon run in the fall, fishermen say we have the “sweet spot” of the creek in our backyard. It is a short walk to the harbor on the shore of Lake Ontario, where you can also take a fishing charter.
There is a waterfront restaurant, pizza shop, and pub all within walking distance. Nearby you will find farm markets, breweries and cideries.
Easy day trips to Niagara Falls or Finger Lakes Wine Country.
A public sandy beach is a short drive away in Sodus Point, NY. Driving or biking along this route gives stunning views of the lake and orchards.
Drive to nearby Rochester, NY for museums, zoo, amusement park, art galleries, and baseball games. Visit the heart of NY - the Finger Lakes. Here you will find award winning wineries, beautiful landscapes and stunning vistas. Outdoor enthusiasts will want to visit Chimney Bluffs State Park, Watkins Glen State Park, Stony Brook State Park, and Letchworth State Park (The Grand Canyon of the East.)
