General Overview
Two bedroom, two bathroom stay provides comfort and basic amenities for an easy stay. I love the area for the opportunity for everyday adventures, hiking, biking and kayaking.
The condo is walking distance to Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The Cuyahoga River is steps from the front-door, with the ability to kayak.
The Towpath Trail, a crushed-limestone path is 1/4 mile of sidewalks away. This trail allows one to bike to Cleveland (30 miles) or Akron (5 miles). Stay includes bicycle use.
Walk to restaurants and ice cream and groceries and spa.
The Space
There are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
The front bedroom has blackout curtails and a queen size bed. The adjacent bathroom has an oversized soaking tub and shower.
The back bedroom also has a queen bed with blackout curtains and a connected bathroom with a shower. The bedroom also contains a desk and bookshelves. It is currently used as an office. If the stay is non-simultaneous and you only need one bedroom, this room may be closed for guests.
There is a large family room/ dining room area with a fireplace, desk and table. The kitchen has all the amenities to cook, including air fryer and nonstick pans.
Washer and dryer are available for your use.
The eat-in kitchen walks out to a shared condo backyard. The long view displays the Valley hills. Great Blue Herons and migrating birds are common sights from the back-porch. Cuyahoga Valley is one of the most bio-diverse locations in the world.

Neighbourhood
The location is within a condo association. There is not a gate, the neighborhood is safe. Walking distance to groceries, restaurants, coffee, ice cream and more.
The officially entrance to Cuyahoga Valley National Park is 2 miles away along a walking/ biking path or 5- minute drive. There are adjacent parks that have similar hiking and biking 1/4 of a mile away.
Mountain biking at Hampton Hills is 1 mile away.
Cuyahoga River is 300 feet away and can be accessed to put-in a kayak.
Downtown Akron can be reached via bike along a crushed limestone/ paved path, the Towpath Trail. 4-5 miles away.
Downtown Cleveland can be reached by driving through the National Park, 40 minutes. Or via bicycle for 30 miles along the Towpath Trail, crushed limestone.
In the winter, there are a couple of ski resorts within the National Park. They are great for beginners and are common for racing. Prices are lower than other resorts.
Northeast Ohio is home to many fresh-water lakes, including Lake Erie. Several can be reach within a 30 minute drive.
Getting to my home
Best to get to Akron via air or driving.
Merriman Valley, my neighborhood is situated within the Cuyahoga Valley. Driving or biking outside of the Valley will require going up a hill.
If a stay is not-simultaneous, I can coordinate a pick-up/ drop-off at airport.
Nearest airport
Akron Canton Airport is 35 minutes away.
Cleveland International is 45 minutes away.
Both locations can be accessible via Uber/ Lyft or with a car rental.

Theresa and her son came to my house for a week to enjoy the beach, bike trails, and all that our area has to offer. They were also kind enough to take care of our cat. I can’t say enough about how clean she left my home, how communicated she was, and how easy to swap was. I had to have surgery a few months earlier and she checked in on me. . I feel like I’ve met a new friend in Theresa and would love for her to visit again some day!
It was a pleasure to host Theresa and her friend Amy. Theresa communicated well and everything went smoothly with arrival and stay. They left the apartment spotless and I would happily highly recommend to other PLU-ers considering hosting Theresa.
Feedback for Susan·Non-Reciprocal exchange·6 nights
Susan's beach home was wonderful and comfortable. She is very close to several restaurants on the water, including one that has a fresh fish market. (delicious crab cakes). A trail behind the house provided easy access to the beach (~2 blocks away), ice cream, and the boardwalk at Virginia Beach (8+ miles). This trail runs through the state park, is shaded and breezy. We are training for a half marathon and the trail was utilized multiple times/day.
Susan left a list of happy hours and highlights in the neighborhood (including the place to buy discount wine). With her directions, we were easily able to plan and navigate adventures. We had access to her bicycles, laundry and kayaks. We love to cook and appreciated access to the fresh herbs most.
I enjoyed staying in contact with Susan, preparing and enjoying our separate trips. She is a lovely host. Cheers to you Susan on your retirement!
Thank you so much, Theresa! It was wonderful “getting to know you” and even sending pictures to eachother of our trips. Ghee says he misses you and thank you for feeding him! Good luck with the training and again, I’m so glad we made this connection. Makes me very excited to use this platform more in the future for my retirement trips!
Feedback for Felicity·Hospitality exchange·4 nights
Felicity's home was fun, conveniently located, and comfortable. The space had high ceilings, glamorous light fixtures and was very clean. We were provided all amenities. The neighborhood was walking distance to the lake, ice cream, and several restaurants. Minneapolis was a dream come true with fantastic bike trails, collaborative communities, and beautiful autumn colors.
Thank you Felicity.
