Neighbourhood

Playacar is Playa del Carmen’s best neighbourhood to explore from. Great walking area and security. We are the closest villas to 5th ave and the beach in Playacar. We have lots of lovely restaurants close by and did I mention the beach? There is plenty to explore in the area, one of the unique features of the area are the cenotes. There are many and range from small, more local to larger more touristy. Taxis or tours are easy to arrange and if you are comfortable with local transportation it's a nice option and cheap. Tulum is close by, and Xcaret, Xel-Ha offer some wonderful adventures. The evening show in Xcaret features 300 dancers and musicians enacting Mexico’s story from pre-Hispanic days to the present, a truly great production.

Nearest airport

Cancun Airport. 45 minute drive. Cozumel, ferry ride Tulum Airport, 1 hour

Getting Around

5 minute walk to beach, 5th ave and restaurants. No need for car, we don't have one. If you do rent a car we have parking space for it. This is a great walking area, well except for the sidewalks in poor condition. We walk to grocery stores and small shops. Easy to order in food if desired. Transportation from Cancun airport required. Taxis or tours are easily arranged if you are going to explore the area. Taxis are everywhere, they do like to try to charge tourists premium.
