General overview
We are a Franco-American family of 5 including 3 young children. My husband Randy is originally from Seattle and I am from the south of France, we have both called Dubai our home for over 13 years now.
Randy is the cool one in the family, flying airplanes around the world and sourcing home decor and toys from various countries for our little tribe! I also work full time and run a small children organic clothing business on the side, so our (sadly limited) family time is extremely precious. We are well-travelled and love the idea of hosting people in our home to show them the UAE through our eyes and discover other places in a different way.
Our home is very cosy, the perfect nest for any family! It is spacious and spread over 3 floors, furnished with lots of children amenities and toys as well as a lovely garden shaded by plenty of trees and greeneries. We are very eco-conscious and have exclusively furnished the house with non-toxic products, I.e. Avocado and The Little Green Sheep mattresses, zero-VOC paint, air purifiers, etc… Very unique in Dubai.
The space
Our house is set up in a way that children (and adults!) can be entertained indoors and in our garden year-round when the weather gets too warm. We have books and toys for all ages, a Montessori climbing triangle, an outdoor play kitchen as well as an indoor one, a high chair, a feeding seat for infants, a Stokke stroller with a board for toddlers, an inflatable pool, an outdoor AC unit, bean bags to place outside, outdoor movie set-up, bikes for the entire family and so many other useful things for the little ones!

The villa is spread over 3 floors, the ground one where the living room/ dining room/ kitchen/ maid’s room/ storage rooms and toilet are located.
On the first floor there are 4 bedrooms, each with their own bathroom and also an independent veranda where an office/ nursing space is set-up.
The last floor has another office space that is also a Lego room for our son as well as a large terrace on the rooftop with all solar panels. That area is not furnished outside so it is mainly a viewing point more than a usable space.
Notes
We have a helper who might be here depending on the time of visit, she is very discreet and could assist if needed at times. We also have a friendly dog Chelan as well as an old cat Paloma, both very used to children and people. Our cat is away most of the time and might only visit a few times, our dog would ideally stay here if the guests are fine with it - if not we can ensure she stays at a friend’s place.

The community we live in is exceptional in every way, imagine life in a calm and serene community surrounded by eco-friendly amenities, lush green gardens and farms.
Located in Dubailand just a 15-20 min drive from Downtown, The Sustainable City is a unique project that gives us more than just a glimpse into the eco-friendly future. Here are our top 5 picks on what you can do while staying at ours!
1. Get your dose of organic products and animal visits: Our community has 11 bio-dome greenhouses that encourage urban agriculture. Residents get involved in the community farms and enjoy baskets of fresh produce year-round. We also have four-legged residents such as donkeys and other lovely creatures, I.e. Peacocks, chickens, ducks, turtles, fishes, goats, etc…
2. Checkout the Equestrian Center and the horse stables. The training facility and a dirt trail around the development will make you feel like horsing around while on vacation.
3. A lot of retail options at The Plaza, located 50m from our house, it has become the hub of the entire community with a wide range of shops and restaurants for you to indulge. You will also find a gym, a spa (providing incredible massages by Balinese ladies!), a pharmacy, a clinic, a barber shop, a hair saloon, children play centers as well as a supermarket.
4. Enjoy the awesome outdoors! The community is built around a lot of greenery, trees and even a lake with resident ducks. Go jogging on a 6 km running track, go on cycle ride along the track, checkout the amazing outdoor gym stations, tennis courts and even a 5 a-side football pitch.
5. Discover fun filled community vibes: Since spending the day at the mall has become too cliché, explore the various community activities from movie screenings, carnivals for the little ones, art displays and much more all within this beautiful community. We are sure that you will absolutely love exploring all these fun things to do during your stay.
