There are always animals (cows, chooks, dogs, cats) about but no responsibility for them. Are you curious about farm life? We can show you ! There are calves to feed in winter, milking all year round, and eggs to collect each morning.
There are also tractors, diggers and quad bikes to have a go at if you fancy.
Spend time relaxing at the pool, or soak in the spa, watch the beautiful night sky and have a bbq or outdoor fire.
And the beachouse is heaven on earth setting, very simple and quirky but everything you need.

Neighbourhood
Rural, shopping town 15mins away. Great mountain walks only 15mins away.
Te Aroha town (15minutes) is a quirky art town nestled under ‘The Mountain of Love’ with great walks, natural hot springs and good bike trails. We can also recommend some great eateries.
Morrinsville (Also 15minutes) is slightly bigger and is well known for its life sized arty cows dotted amongst the town. It’s a great place to walk around spotting them.

People Like Us Local Guide
We welcome people to catch up with us, maybe see our farms if interested. We can also point out cool things to do in the area
Sue and Craig are welcoming and generous hosts, and great company. Michael and I stayed at both their homes and enjoyed spending time in parts of New Zealand we may otherwise not get to. Sue showed me around the area and their farm while we were staying with Sue and Craig in Waitoa. We then spent 3 nights at Sue and Craig's beach house in Port Charles, on Coromandel Peninsula. This area is beautiful. I would recommend a stay at either of Sue and Craig's homes if you like to go somewhere off the beaten track.
It was a pleasure to host Sue, Cindy and Anna for a hospitality stay for a few days at our house in Katoomba. We enjoyed their company, and sharing drinks and stories with them. They were ideal guests!
So lovely to have Sue stay at our place. Came back to a very happy cat and everything was spotless. We can’t wait to get over to New Zealand for a visit, hopefully in 2026. Sue is welcome back anytime!
This exchange went well. Sue was a very discreet host. We had the pleasure of welcoming these travelers from far away... we wish them great discoveries in Europe.
Sue and her friends were the perfect houseguests. Communication was excellent and it was a really easy exchange to organise. The house was left spotlessly clean and the most amazing flowers were left on the bench. Thank you Sue, you are welcome back anytime!
What an awesome hospitality exchange with Faye and Michael. They were so welcoming, helping us decide which hikes to do, restaurants to go to. Best quizz night partner thanks Michael!
What a great little stay I had in Thirroul, their home is perfect and it was really kind to lend me their car while staying. I saw many birds, a few large lizards and of course Squiggy cat kept me company. Thank you Freya and family, we can’t wait to have you stay in NZ!
What a beautiful home and amazing views. It was an easy 15 minute walk to town . Thanks Kylee!
What a beautiful home, everything was perfect and we felt very welcome. The area around was interesting and we all felt grateful to have had the experience of a true french holiday, thank you Annie and Pascale
Natalie's plans changed so we didn't end up meeting them, but she kept us well informed and we really look forward to hosting them!
So lovely to meet Faye and Michael, hosted for a night at our farm before they headed off to our beach bach. Thank you for the yummy homemade marmalade, delicious! We look forward to catching up with you both in Katoomba next year.
What a fabulous short break we have just had, thank you Maggie and Aaron for your perfect home, it was warm, clean and inviting. A very good area to bike ride from too. I would definitely recommend an exchange with these lovely people!
