Neighbourhood
Punta Gorda is one of the few remaining towns on the water in Florida that still has that "small town" feel. There are loads of restaurants downtown as well as Tiki bars and restaurants on the water. Lots of water related sports in the area, boating, fishing, kayaking. The town is situated on the south side of Charlotte Harbor which is a big expanse of water. It does not have any natural beaches. The nearest beach is a 45 minute drive.

There are three regional airports nearby and international airports a little further away.
Punta Gorda (PGD) 15-20 minutes by car
Fort Myers (RSW) 45 minutes by car
Sarasota (SRQ) 1 hour by car
Tampa (TPA) 1.5 hours by car
Orlando (MCO) 3 hours by car
Fort Lauerdale (FLL) 3.25 hours by car
Miami (MIA) 3.5 hours by car
Getting Around
You will need a car to get around. The nearest shopping plaza is 10 minutes by car. There is an excellent grocery store called Publix. We have bicycles that you can use but we only recommend riding them in the neighborhood for safety. There are no designated cycle lanes so you have to "share the road"
