Our updated, eco-conscious split-level house sits in a family-friendly, eclectic neighborhood. We are centrally located just beyond downtown on the Bench, an area nestled with international markets and cuisine, sprawling parks, with convenient access to the Greenbelt pedestrian/bike path as well as the freeway. We are 10 minutes from the the airport, downtown, museums, and major shopping centers. Just across the street is a small playground and basketball court, the nearest park is an easy ¼ mile walk.
Swaps would also include caring for our indoor-outdoor shorthair cat, Zelda.
The space
Inside you will find a kitchen stocked for people who love to cook, a cozy dining nook that seats 6, or enjoy BBQing and dining on our upstairs deck.
The upstairs bathroom has a separate shower and soaker tub with a spray handle, while downstairs you can enjoy a double-headed walk-in shower.
We are art and music lovers and book nerds, so you will have access to our small library and record collection. The upstairs bedroom doubles nicely as a home-office area with a small desk or an artist's drafting table. Each bedroom has ample room to unpack your suitcase and store your things during your stay.
The downstairs master bedroom has a large closet and a dedicated work space that can be folded up when not in use. The remaining bedrooms are downstairs as well as the full-sized laundry machines. You will also find access to the backyard adjacent to the downstairs full bathroom.
You will also enjoy 4K TV in the living room, and smart TVs in two bedrooms with all the bandwidth you’ll need on our 1G speed fiberoptic internet.
Our backyard is private and fenced with a great lawn for playing or relaxing in the shade. We have a culinary herb garden for you to enjoy harvesting from for your meals during growing months. There are two driveways for off-street parking with a one-car carport and an area to lock bikes or store gear. Across the street is a playground and basketball court.
Our home is equipped with eco-friendly products chosen with Mother Earth in mind. Our housekeepers also use non-toxic, eco safe products when cleaning the home. We make it easy for guests to recycle and compost when staying at our place.
We also provide large fans to help regulate temperature between both levels of the home for additional comfort during our hotter months.
Guest access
Please note that the split-level design of the house requires two flights of stairs to access living spaces in the home. Guests who have mobility limitations or small children may want to consider if the stairs will be workable for your stay as it, unfortunately, is not the most accessible; short flights of stairs are required to enter, as well as to access both levels of the home.
Young kids and infants are welcome, but lots of stairs also require extra vigilance with crawlers and toddlers. Our stairwells don't lend themselves well for baby gates.
You will be able to access all areas of the home except for the downstairs bedroom in back and two small closets. The shed will remained locked as well.
Notes
Swaps would also include caring for our indoor-outdoor shorthair cat, Zelda. Help will be available from a neighbor for overnight or weekend excursions away from the house.

Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is full of friendly neighbors, often out walking their dog (or horse, or llama... you never know!). There are two urban farms nestled in on our block, so you may hear chickens or goats. You might also run into the resident bunnies who live in our neighborhood. We are fortunate to enjoy wildlife even in the middle of the city!
You'll want to be sure to visit the many small international markets and restaurants that celebrate the diversity of the refugees and other New Americans that call Boise home. Their food and culture have helped define the Bench and made it one of our favorite places to live.
We are walkable or a short drive to a wide range of restaurants, a Fred Meyer and Albertsons supermarket, and, seasonally, the Boise Farmers Market. Between our house and the short 5 minute drive to downtown you will find Kathryn Albertson Park full of ponds and wildlife, including turtles and deer. Ann Morrison Park, a sports park with a large playground, fountain, and also the let-out for floating the Boise River. A short cruise past Ann Morrison you can find yourself on Boise State campus and a 8 minute walk on the Greenbelt will lead you right next to our famous "Blue Turf" Sports Stadium and Extra Mile Arena.
Just beyond the parks, you'll find Rhodes Skate Park, a 1.3 acre worldclass skate park and parkour park, and Boise's Linen District full of coffee shops, boutiques, and pubs leading into the downtown area.
Getting to my home
Our home is easily accessed from the freeway I84 and is less than a 10 minute drive from Boise International Airport. Public transit is available, but not particularly convenient.
Nearest airport
Boise International Airport (BOI) is 4 miles away
Getting around
We are located in a highly walkable, easily bikeable area with access to downtown. Boise Greenbike rentals are available just down the hill on Americana Blvd. and other bike rentals are available from local businesses. There are bus stops a few blocks in either direction on Morris Hill (at Roosevelt and at Orchard). Ridesharing is readily available and an Uber or Lyft to downtown is generally $10-15.
