Spartanburg is an amazing small, but growing town in the upstate. We have an amazing downtown with many shops and restaurants, lots of walking trails, and great breweries. It is also a fantastic homebase to explore the upstate and the mountains. We are a 40 minute drive to Greenville, 45 minutes to the Blue Ridge Mountains (Saluda, Hendersonville and over an hour to Asheville.) We are 1.5 hours to Charlotte and 3 hours to Atlanta and the coast of SC. Depending on what type of vacation you are looking for, we are happy to help give ideas to make the most of your time in the area.

The space
Our home provides ample space for a family. We have a really large den that connects to the kitchen, both with doors that open to our patio that overlooks the pool. Our backyard is very secluded and private. The basement provides ample privacy for other guests, or the perfect play area for families with children. All bedrooms (the two upstairs and the master) have their own private bathrooms. We have a large front yard for kids to play in and a basketball goal for some entertainment.
Guest access
The house is three levels. You walk into the main level, which has the kitchen, den, living room, dining room, powder room and master bedroom/bathroom. There are stairs to the third floor, which has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a set of stairs in the kitchen to take you down to the basement, which has a 4th bedroom, a full bathroom, and a playroom, which has a pull out sofa bed, which could accommodate 1-2 more people.
Notes
We have three young children in school, so we do all of our traveling during holidays, primarily looking for summer holidays.

Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is beautiful and quiet, but with loads of friendly people. We love taking walks around the neighborhood! The nearest grocery store is right up the street, but you have to drive. We are within a 5-8 minute drive of downtown. We also are a 3 minute drive from the rail trail, which you can walk or bike on.
Getting to my home
The two closest airports are Greenville/Spartanburg and Charlotte Douglass International airport.
Nearest airport
We are 35 minute drive from the Greenville-Spartanburg International airport, a 1.5 hour drive to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport, and a 3 hour drive to the Atlanta airport.
Getting around
Our home is close to downtown, but you would need a car to get around. Uber is used by people, but a car would be helpful. Depending on insurance, we could discuss a car borrow.

We are a family of 5 from Spartanburg, South Carolina. We have two daughters ages 11 and 9 and a son age 6. My husband is a CPA and I am former middle school teacher, who has now turned my love of photography into a full time photography business, specializing in family and portrait photography! We lived in Ireland for two years and traveled extensively around Europe. While abroad, we had many friends who did home exchanges and realized it is a fantastic way to travel and immerse yourself in an area off the beaten path. We love to travel and are open to the possibility of any exchange primarily in Europe, as well as domestically.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
