General overview
Our home is perfect for an active family but also has the comforts when you are ready to relax. With large family spaces throughout the downstairs, including a large livingroom with a comfy couch and huge stone fireplace, kitchen with bar seating, dining room with expandable dining table, and a large office/playroom, there are plenty of ways to re-connect with each other. Upstairs we have 4 roomy bedrooms (2 king beds + 2 twin bunk beds) that can sleep up to 8 people comfortably. 2 full bathrooms are upstairs and a half bath downstairs. There's plenty of room to gather together or rest after a full day of exploration. We live in a quiet neighborhood right off the James River. Great for walking/running and biking, taking a dip in the community pool in the summer months. There is easy access to interstates, RIC airport, or the Petersburg train station for any wanderlust trips. We are 20 min south of Richmond, VA, 1.5 hours from VA Beach, 2.5 hours to Raleigh, 2 hours to Washington DC, with Philadelphia PA, NYC, and Boston further north. We have bikes/helmets of all sizes and inflatable kayaks/life vests if desired.

Lindsey
We love adventure and exploring new places. Now that my kids are older, we are looking forward to exchanging with families/folks that want to do the same, stay in a comfortable home base while exploring the communities around us 💚 We are new to exchanging but really want to up our travel game. This seems like a great way to build friendships while getting those coveted passport stamps and visiting national US treasures. We prefer sim exchanges that will last a week+ but are also open to non-sim and hospitality visits for shorter trips. Given that we are newer to swapping we look forward to getting to know our exchange partners beforehand. Lindsey and Brent both work at Virginia Commonwealth University in downtown Richmond. Lindsey is a Research Administrator for Muscular Dystrophy Research and Brent is a Technology Transfer Manager. Our kids are in schools locally and so we can be a bit limited on sim swaps during the school year, outside of major times off like spring and winter breaks + summer. But, if the right opportunity comes along, we are open to anything. We 💚 museums, cooking/food, architecture, all things cultural + books.
Our home is 20 minutes south of Richmond, VA which is rich in history as one of the major first cities before the creation of what is now the US. Richmond has a great food and art scene. Highly recommend a visit the Valentine or VMFA, too. We are 2 hours west of Virginia Beach, 1 hour west of Historic Williamsburg, VA, Busch Gardens and King's Dominion amusement parks, 1.5 hours east of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Appalachian Mountains, 2.5 hours north of Raleigh, 2 hours south of Washington DC, 5 hours south of Philadelphia, PA, 7 hours south of NYC, and 10 hours south of Boston, MA. We are ~20 minutes from the RIC airport and the Peterburg Amtrak station. We have many local, state, and national parks + Capital Bike Trail close by. The James River that connects to the Chesapeake Bay is close, if river sports are your thing.
