Neighbourhood

La Xerea is one of the six neighborhoods which make up the Ciutat Vella, or “Old Town,” of Valencia. La Xerea is central, historic, packed with ancient churches, palaces and monuments, yet somehow manages to retain the calm of a quiet residential zone. You'll be within a 20 minute walk to almost all of the major sites (the City of Arts and Sciences is a lovely walk through Turia Park about 30 minute walk or a fun bike or scooter ride).

Nearest airport

Valencia International Airport is an easy 20 minute metro or taxi ride away.

Getting Around

Taxis are readily available and you're a 4 minute walk to the metro station and a 20 minute walk to Estacio del Nord (I suggest a taxi if you're coming in to Joaquin Sorolla as it's a 35 minute walk). Many bus lines have stops in Placa de la Reina which is under a 10 minute walk or Placa Tetuan less that 5 minutes. The beach is accessible by taxi or the tram or a fun bike ride (there are many bike rental shops that rent hourly, daily or weekly; bikes can be locked and stored in the lobby).

Note: We are not accepting globes at this time. After we've used some of the ones we have we will open that back up. We are a younger retired couple with 2 adult children. We spend a lot of time traveling and have homes in the San Francisco Bay Area of California and Valencia, Spain. We enjoy cooking, music, and art. Occasionally we travel with our adult children but more often it is the 2 of us (due to their work schedules) or us plus another couple. We bought our apartment in Valencia, Spain as a vacation home and a base to explore Europe. Last minute travel tends to suit us better as we prefer being more spontaneous. We generally don't know our plans more than 6 months out.
