General overview

It's a comfortable, modern relaxing space with views of the Atlantic Ocean whose waves you may hear crashing on the nearby shore. While it's a home away from home, it is a million miles from the hustle and crush of urban living. It is located in the only northern hemisphere Gold Standard Dark Skies Reserve. It's in a village within a short walk of amenities like shop, pub with Irish traditional music, church, choice of beaches, cafe and gallery. It is surrounded by nature in its undisturbed best, with Bronze Age monuments on the surrounding slopes. Skellig Michael, UNESCO World Heritage site is just a short boat trip away.

The space

A four bedroomed house, 2 double bedrooms en-suite. 2 twin bedrooms. Full bathroom. Downstairs lounge, plus kitchen/dining room, plus utility/laundry room. Upstairs large lounge with views over the Bay. Large master bedroom en-suite upstairs.

Guest access

2 storey house with stairway to upstairs lounge and master bedroom. Access from own driveway via main entrance to hallway. Keycode access at front door. Gardens front and rear. Private parking for 4 cars.

Notes

A short stroll to the local pub where traditional music is heard. A short walk or drive to a glorious safe Blue Flag beach with a stunning vista of mountains, islands and peninsulas. This is a hillwalkers dream location with stunning vistas across peninsulas, mountain ranges and offshore islands. In season, you may watch the migrating whales passing close to shore.

Ide

We're an outgoing retired couple living in Ireland. Formerly a marketing director and a university lecturer. We have two sons married in Australia to two Aussie ladies. They each have three children; one lives in Melbourne, the other in Fremantle, W.A.. We make an extended visit at least once a year. We love to travel in Europe and the USA. We have also toured in Asia, to China, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand. We are particularly interested in exchange with members in Fremantle/Perth WA or Melbourne. We love theatre, music and wider cultural activities. I was a drama and English lecturer. My husband, Denis, has sung with a choir for the last 20 years. We love the outdoor life, swimming, hillwalking, cycling. We have exchanged homes numerous times in the past, loving the experience and meeting and befriending some really nice people.
