General overview
The house is a tranquil refuge from the heat and congestion of Merida. So after a long day of sightseeing you can enjoy the beach house! The house has 3 apartments, and the largest apartment occupies the entire second floor. The upstairs apartment, which is our home exchange place, is 3 bedroom, 2 bathrooms, fully furnished open concept with large balcony. The balcony has a great view of the ocean and palm trees, and it's a great place to relax, have a coffee or margarita, and take an afternoon siesta in a hammock.
The space
Open concept kitchen/living room. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, each bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. The master bedroom has 1 king sized beds. The two other bedrooms have 2 single beds each. The space can sleep 6 people. Wifi and plunge pool. The beach is 150m from the house, but the land in front of us is a federally protected eurozone so no buildings are allowed. That means your view is unobstructed except for palm trees!

Neighbourhood
Our house is about 2km from town, so it makes for a secluded feeling. Once you are in Trlchac there are small grocery stores, a gas station, bread places (bakeries that specialize in loaves) and restaurants specializing in Mexican style seafood. The square in the middle of town is picturesque and just north of the town square is the pier and the lighthouse and a public beach, and more restaurants!
The closest large supermarkets at in Progreso, 25 min drive west of us.
Getting around
You will need a vehicle to stay here. Although there is public transportation, it is slow and infrequent.
