Billund airport 1 hour and 15 minutes and Copenhagen airport 2 hours and 20 minutes, coming from Copenhagen you will have to drive over a told bridge to get to Fyn.
Getting Around
We are 10 minutes drive from Bogense town with all shopping amenities , restaurants and pubs.
We have buses going from close to our home, but they are not convenient and it will eat up a lot of time in traveling around.. A car is not mandatory but will make your life a lot more enjoyable here. So with all said we would suggest a car to tour around from our place.

I had the pleasure of hosting Mike and Majbritt earlier on when they lived on Vancouver Island. Since then, they moved to Denmark.
This meant that we had the opportunity to visit lovely Fyn for a weekend. We would have LOVED to tay longer, but this time around we only had a weekend.
Their home is a cosy little farmhouse style house in the country side surrounded by fields and nature. The night sky was amazing to watch and there was no light pollution, which I enjoyed when I took the dogs out for their evening walks.
The house has everything we needed for our little weekend get away, is was cosy and comfortable and enbaled us to just pull the plug and relax.
They had sent out the house manual beforehand, which was nice. As we arrived in the dark it was great to know exactly how and where to find the door keys and the light switches :-D
when we got inside, we had a lovely welcome note and lots of treats - thank you <3
We just chilled Friday evening and then Saturday we went exploring some of the nearby area. We took the dogs to for a lovely walk at Gyldensteen Nature park area. We had gorgeous Fall weather and I love the season of changing colours.
From there we went to Bogense and strolled around and found the local Manneken Pis! As we've just returned from a visit to Brussels, it was a fun surprise.
not much was open in town, but we had an ice cream at the harbour before heading home and chilling.
Sunday we went for a run, which is a great way to explore the nearby scenery as well.
Fyn is quite flat and their home is in the country side wich gave a peacecul and quiet vibe, that we enjoyed. Bogense is only 10 km away, so it is a perfect mix if you want to shop, go out to eat etc.
The weekend flew by, so we only got a taste of what's there. As it is only about 3 hours drive from my home, we are hoping to return at some point with a bit more time to explore even more.
Majbritt and Mike have a cat, that always go with them when they are away and they graciously let me bring me two easy going senior doggies, which great.
We've met out hosts on a couple of different occasions and they are such a nice and fun couple to be around and super easy to comminicate with.
Fyn may not seem like a hot spot, but I can highly recommend giving it a go and if you do, basing yourself at Majbritt and Mikes home will be a great start and they are excellent exchange partners.
Thank you Mike and Majbritt for letting us stay in your home. MM's home has many delicate collections of items and at first we were worried that our young kids might destroy something but this went fine fortunately :) To get the best experience of MMs home you will need a car as it is remotely located.
MM's home is great for exploring the island of Fyn and the lovely city of Odense (with many things to do, the HC Andersen museum was one of our favorites). The home is also close to several beaches. All in all we had a great week vacation in MM'S home. The hosts were friendly and responded to our questions quickly.
Thankful for our first exchange, this house was very special, and we appreciate their courage to host a family with young kids. We were blessed by their generous food gift and also good advice about what's happening in the area.
We were lucky enough to spend a week in Mike and Majbritt's house and were immediately charmed: their house, with a splendid thatched roof, is in the middle of the fields and on the edge of a small lake. There is even a boat available!
Their exterior is very nice, we were able to eat outside every day and there is even a covered outdoor lounge for rainy days.
We were able to do some wonderful hikes (I recommend Aebelo 2 minutes from the house) and even try sea kayaking.
A city day allowed us to visit the great Andersen Museum in Odense.
Don't hesitate to go, it was a great week!
What an awesome sim exchange with Majbritt and Mike.
We spent 9 days exploring the area that has so much to offer. Great for outdoor activities, we took lots of walks and rode our bikes along beautiful nature and coastal areas.
Explored several of the towns in the area, including Denmarks 3rd largest city, Odense, which is easily reached by car in half an hour with its nice downtown area and museums. The beautiful castle Egeskov was also a nice daytrip.
It was so nice to come back to their cozy, comfortable home at the end of the day, usually enjoying a drink on the nice covered patio, watching the cute family of sheep in the pasture next door. We had great communication with Majbritt and Mike throughout our stay.
Majbritt and Mike's house looks just like in the pictures, and everything is accurately described. The house is beautiful, full of details from all their travels, which I would love to hear more about. In front of the house, there's a view of oilseed rape fields, and behind the house is a beautiful lake. Communication with Majbritt is excellent; she left many instructions for getting around their home, as well as all the surrounding areas. The whole area is interesting and worth visiting. I definitely recommend it!
The exchange with Mike and Majbritt was our first. We are glad that we managed to arrange this wonderful place in Denmark. And our start with homeexchange was a hit and showed us that traveling with PLU is so much more pleasant than in hotels and guesthouses. The tastefully furnished house is located in a beautiful secluded spot by the lake. Living in an original house with a reed roof is a wonderful experience. Even though we traveled out of season, the spring weather was beautiful, so we were able to use the garden and terrace. We didn't miss anything in the house's facilities. Communication with Majbritt is and was very pleasant, nothing was a problem to solve. Even though the house is located in the Danish countryside, we didn't miss anything, shops, the sea and cultural experiences were within half an hour's drive. We learned that Denmark for children is not only Legoland, but also offers a large number of museums, zoos and parks. We will definitely be happy to return to this country.
Thank you Majbritt and Mike for a wonderful week in their beautiful home.
Thanks for the kind words, you guys was a pleasure to have as guests. Looking forward to exploring in and around your place 🙂
We had an amazing stay in Mike and Majbritt’s house. We are very grateful for the offer of an exchange and would highly recommend their home to everyone. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped with a pretty, private garden. They kindly let us borrow their electric bikes and amazing blow up kayaks too which we all loved.
The best bit about their home though is the location. It’s 30 minutes drive to the Nanaimo ferry. It’s an easy drive to beautiful lakes and countryside and a two hour drive to Tofino and Victoria. If you want to explore the island it’s centrally located. If you love nature you will love their house and you may even get a glimpse of a humming bird in their garden. We also saw a black bear and numerous eagles whilst staying on the island. We also had the pleasure of meeting them both. They are super lovely friendly people and very relaxed. If you exchange with their house you will not be disappointed.
Mike and Majbritts place is a great location for exploring the island and was a good base for us. Its comfortable and well equipped and we really appreciated the use of their e bikes and kayaks. We loved seeing the humming birds and enjoyed the deck and garden. The local town has useful shops and eateries and the beach has fantastic sunsets. Great communication throughout.
Vancouver Island has so many fab places to visit and explore. We recommend!
Mike and Maibritt's home is perfectly located on Vancouver Island if you want to see some of the whole island. Their home is cozy and well furnished and nothing is missing.
The property has a lovely enclosed garden with hummingbirds and birds visiting.
We immediately felt at home and enjoyed the lovely surroundings.
We can highly recommend others who want to experience Vancouver Island to get in touch.
Mike and Maibritt are lovely to talk to.
I was lucky enough to meet Majbritt and Mike in person at our house. We spent a very pleasant afternoon together on a trip to the area. They were great guests. They left us a beautifully cleaned apartment. Everything was in perfect order. Thank you for visiting and I look forward to meeting you again sometime.
We regularly communicated on what's app to tell us what we were doing but also to give us ideas or advice on things to do or see. It was very nice!
Mike and Majbritt pampered our cats and chicken, all of them are in great shape and have not suffered at all from our absence.
Their home was extremely welcoming with small intentions and we found our home in perfect condition. A real pleasure to find your house so clean and tidy.
We didn't meet directly but I feel like I know them and I can only recommend them as home exchangers:)
Thank you Mike and Majbritt:)
Majbritt and Mike were great guests, that left our home sparkling clean and my newly planted garden thriving. Can highly recommend them as guests 😊
Majbritt and Mike left the apartment in the same condition they found it, they cleaned everything, and we communicated about everything in a timely manner. Excellent guests!
Mike and Majbritt stayed at our home for 12 days july 2024. Communication with Majbritt and Mike was very easy and pleasant. They left our house in perfect condition and even washed towels and bedding and also mowed the lawn. Thank you so much. They took very great care of our home.
We send our best recommendations.
Don't hesitate to exchange with Mike and Majbritt
Mike and Majbritt were wonderful guests! They were easy going, friendly, communicated well, and gave our dogs a few walks! They left the casita clean and tidy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them!
Mike and Majbritt were amazing guests. They communicated regularly and left our house spotless. We would welcome them anytime again and highly recommend them as guests.
Mike and Majbritt treated our home perfectly. They looked after our house extremely well and when we returned the house was spotless and the grass had been cut. We also had the pleasure of meeting them. They are both super nice. They are definitely people like us. If you ever have the pleasure of exchanging with them or meeting them you won’t be disappointed.
Great communication throughout. Watered the garden during a heatwave and kept in touch. Looked after our home and were great guests. Glad they are part of our PLU community
Mike and Maibritt have been
It was great to finally be able to meet Mike and Majbritt IRL after we’ve been chatting during COVID times.
I was happy to offer them hospitality during their visit in Denmark and thrilled when it all came together.
Mike and Majbritt are as lovely in person as my impression was from our writing, very kind and easy going.
They gave my furry critters lots of TLC when they were at home and we spent some some cosy hours chatting away about all kinds of topics - super hyggeligt as we’d say in Danish ☺️
They were a pleasure to have as guests, they took great care of my home and left everything super tidy and spotless - you wouldn’t think this was their first exchange, natural exchange talents 👌🏻☺️
I can’t wait till I get the chance to go to Vancouver and meet them again, explore the island and meet Erk 🐈
Have fun, enjoy the rest of your trip in Europe, happy exchanging - and don’t forget you’re always welcome back any time!
Finally we got to host Lone and Casper, Lone was our first exchange years back.
Lone, Casper and the two dogs was perfect guests, who left our home in perfect shape, it was like coming back to a home without anyone had been here.
We was quite curious how our cat would take to dogs in his home while he was out camping with us, all he did was he had a sniff and rubbed against things to replace it with his smells, good to know.
We have kept in contact with Lone since before we exchanged, so with this we can without a doubt recommend a exchange with them and host them plus the dogs.
As I said to you, you guys are always welcome here, just say the word.
We had a fantastic time in Martina and Vojta's apartment in Chrastava. Everything we could have wanted and needed was there for us. Really enjoyed all the old wooden beams in the loft. Ours was a non sim exchange and they were available for any questions or concerns that we had. They also took us on a great adventure around their farm, really appreciated and good to meet them in person after having been in touch for a long time.
The area is ready for adventure - we really enjoyed the hiking in the unusual rock formations (like Hruba Skala Rock city and Marla Skaly mountain chain. Many hikes, bikes in both areas) and tours around the local towns. We think that biking in the area would be nice too, but got so busy with the hikes that we never unpacked our bikes. We also visited Lords rock formation, Pacinec glass garden and Novotny Glass Museum and brewery. You could have a drink and bite while watching the glass artist at work. Lastly we also did a 10 k hike up to see the Jested mountain, you could also just drive to the top or do a mountain bike ride. The views from the top are fantastic. They have ski lifts, also used for mountain biking at Jested mountain.
We can highly recommend a visit with them and to their area.
Thanks for a great time guys.
Tina and Dann was great guests, leaving our house very clean.
We had great communication throughout their stay.
Thanks for the sweet letter and gifts you left behind.
Don't hesitate inviting them to your home, you won't regret it 🙂
Lubica and Dominik were great guest who left our home clean.
We appreciated coming home to a clean home after a day of traveling.
Don't hesitate inviting them into your home.
Now we look forward to seeing some of Slovakia next year 🙂.
We had a great time in Fanny and Jerome's funky home, loved the big beams upstairs. You'll find everything you need in their home.
They had dart and a fuse ball game we tried our hand at, we sucked at it, sadly me more than my husband 😉. My husband also really enjoyed their little pool after a hot day of activities it was a nice cooldown.
Their chicken we named roast supplied us with eggs, quite the character lol. The two kitties also let us have some snuggles with them, made us miss our kitty less.
We enjoyed sitting in their garden after a long day of activities 😊.
If you like hiking and biking for all levels, this is the place to go, we did some spectacular hikes and bikes here. Lots of historic towns and villages to visit, many of the nearby villages had on different days fresh food and artisans markets we visited, this in itself we recommend. The town Crest can be walked or biked to and most definitely worth a visit.
You'll also find many rivers to cool down in on a hot summer day.
We could say so much more, but seriously go check it out yourself, you won't be disappointed.
Fanny is great to deal with, thanks for letting us stay in your home😊
We had great communication with Fanny throughout, before and during our exchange. It's wonderful how we feel we get new friends via home exchange, from the continued chats and shared laughter.
Fanny, Jerome and Eliot was great guests , they took great care of our home.
We came home very tired today after having been in traffic, so the pleasure of made up beds and a clean home is a treat.
Not only had they Left it clean but they had also made pretty paper flowers and a butterfly decor we found throughout the home with sweet little notes😍.
Don't hesitate inviting them to your home.
Thanks for taking good care of our home😊.
We had a fantastic sim exchange with Susanne and Ingo. Our daily WhatsApp talks and suggestions was quite enjoyable.
Their home was a great place to come home to after a day of exploring, it was equipped with everything you would need in a home, the bed and sofa were very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting in their pretty newly installed garden.
They have a big screen TV my husband very much enjoyed to watch formula one on.
If you like hiking and biking, their area delivers on this front. It's in waking distance or close to their home to get to the trails.
There is also many cultural and heritage sites close by to explore, Quint towns, museums and many options for shopping and restaurants.
Susanne and Ingo are great to deal with and we hope one day our paths will cross. We can highly recommend exchanging with them 🙂.
They were great guests who left our home clean and as we expected.
Appreciated coming home to a clean home after a long day of traveling.
Don't hesitate inviting them into your home, they'll take good care of it🙂.
Our home was left in excellent condition and moving back in was very easy. Communication with Milena and family was great and we can highly recommend them as guests. The hand painted easter eggs that were waiting for us are beautiful, they put a smile on our faces and are greatly appreciated.
This is a very well appointed apartment located within steps of restaurants and entertainment at the waterfront and many stores within walking distance. There are also many activities within a short drive. We spent a wonderful six nights here and there was never a dull moment. Communication with Milena was relaxed, informative and easy meaning we had a trouble free stay. Highly recommended.
Martina and family have been great guests, they left our home clean.
Throughout we had great communication before and during their exchange, and after.
Was great being their first exchange, I remember how great we felt after our first exchange.
Thanks for a great experience Martina and family and for the gift left behind.
We can recommend exchanging with them 🙂.
Looking forward to visiting you guys in September.
We had a fantastic time here, only steps from the bus taking you easily to your destination and or train station, making it easy to do a day trip to Copenhagen.. The house is very comfortable and lots of toys to entertain yourself when home. Well furnished with everything you need including a sheltered outdoor eating/sitting area that we used extensively and even had the change of visiting with my siblings here. This was not our normal holiday with tons of touring, we was kindly allowed to call Ninna and Klaus home our home while we was in-between emigration and homes. Besides being busy trying to getting our new life together here in Denmark, we really enjoyed the many walking trails around in the area and beaches. They left detailed instructions in Danish and English so we could easily operate the house and find our way in the area.
We highly recommend a stay with Ninna and Klaus, thanks for a fantastic time in your home🙂
We had a great time in Jamie and Marcos Studio, perfect size for two people.
Our host gave some good advice on things to do in the area. It's a great place to explore the north of the country. But you don't need to go far to see wildlife. A short walk from the house showed us toucans, howler monkeys and a great variety of birds. This was a globe exchange. Thanks very much to our host for everything.
Before arriving Marcella was super helpful with any questions we had, the great communication continued throughout the exchange, very much appreciated.
We truly had a great time in Marcella and Mike's beautiful home, the pool was also great. Got to storm watch as the rainstorms with thunder rolled in in the afternoon, fantastic site with the view in the background.
Great location for exploring the central valley, Poas volcano and Orotino areas. Further away is possible too, but we stayed local because we had other exchanges in the area coming up.
We've had a fantastic time here. Ended way too soon.
We highly recommended an exchange with Marcella and Mike, you won't be disappointed 🙂.
Had a great time in Vicky and John's home, cozy and nice home with everything you need. With great doors opening up to a nice and private garden.
We enjoyed many walks in the area , especially Ashton Court. Many other great areas within driving distance.
We managed to have a great visit with John, Vicky and Emily before leaving their home. Throughout and before our exchange we had great communication with them.
Can highly recommend exchanging with them.
They treated our house with respect. Throughout the whole exchange we had great communication, making it easy to deal with any minor things happening. The home was left as agreed on, we felt sorry for them having to leave our home earlier because of problems with their rental car. They are a easy going family we recommend having as guest .
Given that we are doing multiple sequential exchanges we have to rely on our exchange friends to leave our place nice, so hearing from the next exchangers they left the place beautiful is great.
They also planned with our next exchanger timing for take over, a great help they all figured it it out between themselves.
Covid delayed all our exchanges but we had 3 years of great commutation with Debbie and Mark leading up to this exchange. This continued as we exchanged as questions arose.
To sum it up it have been a pleasure to have them as guests.
We had a fantastic time at Debbie and Mark's lovely house and in the garden, perfect size and with all you need.
We also exchanged our toys in form of bikes and kayaks, making it extra special exchanging.
They are in walking distance to a beautiful beach and a short drive to New Forest, places we feel in love with.
So many great places in easy reach to explore from their place.
We are highly recommending exchanging with them.
We'll start with saying you can hear a pin drop at Kirsten and Hans summer cabin, just a magic place.
We also exchanged cars, quite fun trying out their electric car versus our gas guzzling truck.
The summer cabin was great, it was stocked with everything you need. Good beds, some way too fancy for us coffee machine ;) , fantastic ocean views, most nights with horses in the foreground with ocean and sunset backgrounds. Easy access to beach.
Walking distance to beach and historic sites, you will need a car to further explore.
We loved our time in their home and would highly recommend it.
We started talking exchange with Kirsten and Hans before Covid, as with many of us it only happened couple years later with great communicating between us.
While exchanging we kept communicating with each other, things happened to be a little confusing at times. It was all handled with humor and in a speedy manor so none of us had to be frazzled for to long. They were the perfect guest and we would highly recommend them.
Lone and the fur babies was our first home exchange ever, and a great experience it was.
It was nice meeting and getting to know Lone a little better after talking for a couple of years via FB.
Great comfortable home in a country setting. Small town with all the amenities and great transit to the rest of Sjælland.
We had a blast and would recommend staying here.
Now looking forward to host Lone in return :).
