General overview
Our home is tucked into a quiet and sweet neighborhood less than 10 minutes to downtown Nevada City and Grass Valley, and only 90 minutes to Lake Tahoe. We’re less than a half hour from the insta-famous Yuba River and have world-renowned mountain biking and hiking trails nearby. Our neighbors are delightful and the house backs up to a green space with amazing sunset views.
The space
There is a well-appointed chef’s kitchen with microwave, air fryer, toaster, toaster oven, instant pot, blender, food processor…you get it! We have everything! The dining area seats up to 12 (table has leaves) and living room is moody and beautiful. Laundry and half-bath is on the first level as well.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms. Bedroom one has a full size bed and a twin daybed (slightly narrower than a regular twin, as well as a nerf gun room/comic book library. Bedroom two has a full size bed and a sofa that converts into floor mattress. It also has an attached craft and art room. Bedroom three has a queen size bed. The primary bedroom has a king size bed and a loveseat alongside antique furniture and a beautiful wall mural.
Additionally there is a bonus room that we affectionately call “The Lobby” with a large desk and more book storage. Wi-fi is fast and there is a backup network in case of any (very rare) issues.
You’ll find our home to be very loved and cared for. Selene’s hobby is interior design so it’s an eclectic and colorful house that gets many compliments from visitors. We hope you’ll love it as much as we do!
Guest access
Our home is two stories with gently sloping (not steep) stairs (seriously everyone loves our stairs) and a solid continuous handrail.
Notes
We love Jurassic Park and it shows

Neighbourhood
Primarily a residential area but it’s on a nice loop so we get a lot of neighborhood walkers. There is a meditation retreat center up the road a bit.
Getting to my home
You’ll need a car to get here. Unfortunately rural areas don’t have great public transportation but there is a taxi service, bus service, and the occasional Uber driver.
Nearest airport
Sacramento International Airport (SMF) is an hour away.

We’re new to exchanging!! We’re an adventurous family of five (although often we are only traveling with four) who loves the cultural exchange and language immersion aspects of travel.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
