This perfect "home away from home", built in 2017, is a great vacation spot for families, located in a quaint Saanichton neighbourhood, with views of the valley and a hot tub & pool in the backyard.
Centrally located, 10 minutes from the BC Ferries, 10 minutes to world famous Butchart Gardens, 5 minutes to Elk Lake and Island View Beach and 10 minutes to downtown Victoria, this is a fantastic home base with everything you need to enjoy an amazing trip to Vancouver Island.
The space
THE HOME:
This stunning Saanichton Escape, is our family home, decorated with love. We enjoy hosting travellers from around the world, when we are on vacation ourselves!
The home can sleep up to 6 guests (1 king, 1 queen, 2 twin beds).
It is in a very central location for your adventure on the West Coast, and has the bonus of public transportation right outside the front door.
This idyllic vacation getaway invites you to relax out on your private backyard patio & hot tub, enjoying a stunning, bright, new home that is tastefully decorated, perfect for a family getaway.
The home has phenomenal cooking facilities, a gas range and is equipped with all the amenities you will need for your stay, with plenty of seating at the dining table and bar for up to 10 guests to enjoy dinner at home.
Local coffees and tea will be provided, as well as all of the basic amenities such as spices, baking supplies, condiments, and some canned foods in the pantry - so make yourself at home! Help yourself to the organic veggies & herbs in the garden, or bbq on the back patio.
Take in all the amazing sights Victoria is known for: Walk the breakwater off Dallas Rd, stroll historic Government street and the Inner Harbour, or enjoy the jaw-dropping beauty of World famous Butchart Gardens.
Curl up with your coffee and good book beside the cozy fireplace after a day of hiking at Goldstream park or zip lining at Wild Play parks (a 10 minute drive away). This city and this space is perfect for the whole family to enjoy!
THE MASTER SUITE:
Pamper yourself in the extra deep slipper soaker tub in the master suite, or hot tub in the backyard and then dive into your super cozy king bed, with the world famous, Leesa mattress and gorgeous linens, sure to satisfy after a great day of adventuring on the West Coast.
The spacious Master bedroom also has a walk in closet, en-suite, soaker tub, spacious shower with rain head, double sinks and french doors opening onto the back patio and the hot tub.

Notes
You will have access to the main home, through the front door. The lower floor entry has a large gallery in the entryway, a large bedroom with twin bed, full bathroom with shower, another bed room / rec room with TV and gaming system on the lower floor. Upstairs is the main living space with a great room (living, dining, kitchen), main bathroom, another bedroom with a twin bed, the laundry closet, Master bedroom with walk in closet and ensuite with double sinks, soaker tub and shower. The backyard is accessible from the kitchen upstairs and the master suite, and has a hot tub, pool, trampoline, outdoor living space with fire pit and BBQ.

THE LOCATION:
We are located in a neighborhood n the town of Saanichton, with Thrifty Foods grocery, Shoppers Drug Mart, Pizza, Chinese, R & R diner, Prairie Inn Pub, Banking and a number of other great shops if needed! Super convenient!
The town of Sidney is 5-10 minutes down the highway with whale watching to enjoy, our favourite Thai Sweet Chilli Wings & Drunken Noodle at Sabhai Thai, 10 acres restaurant on the water, great walking along the ocean, and of course, the famous Sidney Street market with amazing local artisans and musicians on Thursday evenings!
Island View Beach is a 5 minute drive with gorgeous views of the ocean and amazing driftwood forts for the family!
We are in a great, central location, within walking distance to Centennial Park, 5-10 minutes from Island view beach, a 5-10 minute drive from Elk Lake, 10 minutes to world famous, Butchart Gardens, 15 minutes from the ferry and a 12 minute drive to downtown Victoria.
VICTORIA:
Spend your days touring Centennial Square, Jazz Fest and the fabulous events of the summer season downtown Victoria. Take in all the street performers, talented local artists and incredible musicians on the world famous Inner Harbour and Government Street. Spend your evenings walking along the ocean at Dallas Road and stroll the breakwater to the picture perfect lighthouse, topping off the night with a beer and tappa at one of the amazing restaurants Victoria is famous for.
Saturdays, in the late afternoon and evening is a great day to plan to take in the stunning sights at the World Famous Butchart Gardens. Enjoy a dinner in the gardens and a fabulous fireworks display when the sun goes down, all summer long! Bring a blanket to lay on under the stars!
Planning a winter getaway? Victoria is known as the "Hawaii" of Canada, with mild temperatures and a very rare dusting of snow. Victoria is the adventurer's paradise with amazing hiking, scuba diving, and exploring year round, with incredible dining experiences and ocean views that will take your breath away.
Getting to my home
We recommend that you fly into YYJ - Victoria Airport.
Some may want to spend time in Vancouver, BC beforehand, so you can take the BC Ferry to the island, and take the 72 bus to the home or taxi. The BC Ferry is 12 minutes from the house.

Getting around
We are happy to discuss a car exchange as well if preferred. There is a bus stop outside of the house.

We are an outgoing family of 5, with a 16 year old son, 14 & 12 year old daughters who love living life to the full. We have a sweet pup named Ruby, that stays with friends whenever we travel.
We own multiple businesses in Victoria and love Vancouver Island (I've lived here most of my life). Wade is a plumber who has been in business for over 18 years, we have a life coaching company and we own a vacation rental property as well that is listed on VRBO and Airbnb (we could be open to exchange for this home as well if the dates aren't booked). We have also rented out our own private residence on Airbnb in the past, but thought we would try something different with home exchange, as we've heard great things about the community.
