General overview
Welcome to Porto👏 As an UNESCO World Heritage site the city is a very captivating place. With all the historic buildings, red roofs and marble sidewalks and of course the Douro River you will become enchanted. Our apartment is just outside of touristic hub (near Boa Vista) but near all cultural and tourist spots, amenities & public transportation. In a few minutes you can be at many great places in the city 🌃 Lots of shopping nearby and tons of restaurants to chose from. Come and enjoy our beautiful city!
The space
Our home is a cozy apartment 600 sq ft (56 sq m) with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom (shower + WC together)
📺 LIVING ROOM: Very comfortable 🛋️ sofa and side chair with a foot cushion. 55” TV with Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and lots of other Apps. There is also local cable TV with lots of English or Portuguese stations. For music 🎶 there is a Bose Soundbox.
👨🏼🍳 KITCHEN: Gas stove with oven, dishwasher, washing machine, dishes, eating & cooking utensils, pots & frying pans and InstaPot.
🍽️ DINING ROOM: Dining table with 4 chairs.
🛌 BEDROOM: 1 queen bed (160 x 200 cm) with mattress topper plus dresser and wardrobe (we will leave space for you).
🚽 BATHROOM/WC: Large shower with a waterfall shower head and bidet.
☀️ OUTDOOR SPACE: There is balcony off of the living room with a small dining table and 2 chairs, but please no smoking 🚭.
ℹ️ It is our home and we do not have a housekeeper so we ask that you take care of it as we have. Please ensure you leave it as you found it. We promise to do the same at your home. Obrigada!

We are located on the 11th floor of a 13 story building. The apartment is accessible by elevator. If you are driving there is an entrance to the private garage in the front of the building accessible with the fob.
Notes
👟 We do not wear shoes in our apartment because of the wood floors.
🪟The windows have no screens but bugs and flies are rarely seen if at all. There is a great breeze that blows through the apartment most days since we are high up.
⚠️ Our windows & walls block most noises, but beware that there is construction on the new Metro right now that you may hear. When the windows are closed, it’s quiet, but if you prefer the windows open, ear plugs are recommended for sleeping.
💡We have electric shutters in both the living room and bedroom. So if you like it dark to sleep 😴 it will be very dark if they are closed.

Getting around
PUBLIC TRANSPORT Super cheap and convenient with an Andante card that is valid for metro 🚇, bus 🚌 and local train 🚆. Card can be bought and refilled at any Metro station. You can also use Bolt or Uber Apps for inexpensive rides around the city.
There is a cable car 🚠 in Vila Nova de Gaia to save you the walk up the hill for sunset after tasting the delicious port wine 🍷

Lynda and Robb's house is ideal for visiting Porto, it has everything you need for an excellent stay. You can walk to the main attractions of the city or use Bolt/Uber as it is sometimes cheaper than public transport. Near the house there is a beautiful park with excellent views of the river, there are also many facilities nearby. Porto is beautiful! We looked for the keys in another place not far away, but keep in mind that if you don't want to walk with your suitcases you will need a taxi. The front door is not easy to open if you don't have the right instructions, but once you find the way it is easy. We had an excellent stay and at the request of the hosts, we have left everything ready for the next guests. Thank you very much for your hospitality! -
Thanks to Lynda and Robb, we were able to visit Porto with great ease and pleasure. They were very helpful whenever we needed it and their apartment is very clean and functional. To recommend without hesitation! A big thankyou for everything!
