General overview
A coach house at the back of our garden makes for basic but private accommodation. There is an outdoor toilet block but you would have access to the bathroom and kitchen in our house. Please note, there are steep stairs leading to the bedroom and this property is not currently suited to cold winter stays.
Located in Sheffield, a friendly up and coming city, uniquely located on the edge of the Peak District National Park. We live in the convenient area of Hillsborough, within close walking distance of shops, cafés and pubs. We are on a tram route with regular service to the city centre and train station, with good access to to countryside and other cities.
Sheffield has some 250 woods, parks and gardens, interesting industrial heritage and a culture of live music, theatre, restaurants and pubs. There are numerous local walks, Rivelin Valley is a family favourite, with a café and wooded river path to wander and spot the stone remains of 19th century water wheels.
From Sheffield there is easy access by bus or train to the Peak District National Park, one of the most beautiful areas in Britain and ideal for cycling, walking, climbing or visiting historical sites such as Peveril Castle in Castleton.

The coach house has a downstairs sitting area, with a pull out bed making a small double. Up the steep steps, there is a bedroom with a double bed. Outside there is a basic toilet block and a seating area with gazebo. It's basic but private, with its own entrance.

The coach house has a downstairs sitting area and an upstairs bedroom. There is an outdoor toilet block and outdoor sitting area with gazebo. We can accommodate non-simultaneous stays as this is an additional property in the back garden of our house.

Family of 3 in Sheffield, England, a great city on the edge of the Peak District National Park, fantastic for walking, cycling, climbing or just enjoying the beautiful English countryside. We're also on a tram route into the city centre so it's easy to explore Sheffield (a great city) or catch a train to other destinations in the UK. York is an hour on the train & London 2.5 hours.
I've travelled a lot when younger and would like to introduce my husband and daughter to destinations in Europe on weekends or in school holidays. I’m Canadian and travel to the Burlington, Ontario region several times a year, so would welcome any offers from people based there.
We have a two story coachouse in our garden. It is basic and has an outdoor toilet block but it is suitable for non-simultaneous swaps. We can give access to our house for showering and cooking. I'd like to swap our house, but family life means it's just not in a good place right now for swapping. If you don't mind basic it provides private accommodation in a great area for public transport, food, pubs and outdoor pursuits.
I can't wait to get started with swapping, so we can be in touch with other travelling oriented people and see more of the world.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
The coach house is in the back garden, providing basic but private accommodation. The white door is the entrance to the coach house.
I'm a Canadian who has lived in England for 30 years. I love all the history here and this photo was taken at Shakespeare's birthplace on our last trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon. My husband and 11 year old are camera shy.
There is a basic toilet block beside the coach house and a sitting area with gazebo.
This is the view from the outdoor sitting area, it's quite private.
There's a small sitting room downstairs. One of the sofas is a pull out bed, making a small double.
Please note the stairs are very steep, it feels a bit like climbing a ladder.
There is a double bed upstairs.
We're on the edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park with excellent hiking and cycling.
