Neighbourhood

Beaches, pick your choice! We are surrounded by water, so within a 10 minute drive you find everything from great secret fishing spots to children friendly broad sand beaches. Water quality is always good, and if it is windy on one side of the peninsula, you just choose a beach on the other side, pure luxury. Ebeltoft, a very pittoresque but vibrant city is just 15 minutes away, Aarhus 45 minutes by car. The area is spotted with local artists' shops and workshops. Fresh fish can be bought directly from the fisherman 5 minutes away, organic or locally grown fruits and vegetables are sold everywhere from roadside stands during the summer.

Getting around

Basic grocery shopping can be done in small shop 3 km away in Knebel, bigger shops are located in the towns Roende or Ebeltoft, both towns approx. 15 km away. The area is dotted with roadside stands during the summer selling everything from fresh local vegetables and fruit to arts and crafts. Ebeltoft offers very unique little independent shops selling local signature food, hand crafted pottery, locally brewed beer and hand blown glass which is a trademark of the town. Check out the internationally acclaimed glass museum in Ebeltoft. The well respected European Film College is located in Ebeltoft showing a portefolio of independent and quality movies in its cinema which is open to the public. Grobund and Friland, two internationally known communities based on sustainable principle offers courses in everything from sustainable construction to yoga and perma/organic gardening. The organic farming school is open to visitors and has a shop with a wide range of high quality, locally grown organic food and drink.

Camilla

We are a small family, Camilla (journalist working in science communication at Aarhus University, 47 years old) and Anton (10 years old), often travelling either just the two of us - or sometimes with a friend and her son. We are responsible people who will take good care of your home, and we welcome you for a scenic stay less than an hour away from Aarhus, Denmarks second-biggest town. Our home is situated in one of Denmarks National Parks, surrounded by sea, hills, and beautiful nature. We have a cat, Freja, who likes a cuddle, but is otherwise low maintenance. We are looking for both simultaneous, non-sim and non-reciprocal exchanges.
