General overview

Enjoy a lovely, historical New Orleans one bedroom home originally built in 1930. Located in a pleasant neighborhood that sits in the middle of Uptown. Close to Audubon Park, Tulane University, oak-lined streets with beautiful homes, and many cute local restaurants, bars, and shops. Hop on the street car a couple blocks away to venture to other areas of the city

The space

Historic, charming shotgun home with beautiful wooden floors, high ceilings, natural lighting, a front porch, and a backyard. It's currently set up as a one-bedroom but could be 2 bedrooms. So there is plenty of space. It has an eclectic bohemian style with vintage furniture and artwork. The address is in a great location, one block away from a local favorite snowball stand, within walking distance from Tulane University (which includes Tulane University Police, making the neighborhood very safe), and surrounded by beautiful old homes, neighborhood cemeteries, cute local bars, restaurants, and shops. Before entering this Uptown home, there is a covered front porch that you can enjoy. Once you enter, there is a cozy living room with a record player. Following a historical shotgun-style New Orleans home, there is not a hallway. Rather you walk through the next doorway into the next room and so on. The home includes 1 living room, 1 bedroom with very comfortable queen-sized bed, 1 dining room, 1 bathroom with shower and tub, 1 kitchen with all the needed appliances including a washer and dryer, 1 room set up as a working space with large desk and a second monitor, and a large backyard that is shared with the next door neighbor. The property boast two well sized bedrooms, one with a double bed and another kingsize bed, plus a stylish bathroom with suite comprising panelled bath with shower head, WC and hand washbasin. The second bedroom has a desk available for working at home use. You will feel right at home here!

Neighbourhood

The home is located in a residential neighborhood that is full of mostly historic, beautiful New Orleans homes. It is also within walking distance of delicious local restaurants, bars, shops, fitness studios, coffee shops etc. Audobon Park & Zoo is a short distance away. Maple Street and Oak Street are hot spots for local favorite spots. New Orleans as a city is well-known for its food and music scene. You can't go wrong with some good cajun food and jazz music!

Getting to my home

You can reach my home by car, where there are 1-2 parking spaces in front of the home. Or by streetcar, where you can hop on/off the street car in two locations, either on South Carrollton Avenue or Saint Charles.

Nearest airport

Louis Armstrong New Orleans Airport is about a 20-40 minute car ride from my home, depending on traffic.

Getting around

The best, easiest way to get around New Orleans is by car. If you do not have your own car, we have excellent Lyft and Uber service here. We have public streetcars that can take you to certain areas of the city. And there is also a public bus system.
