General overview
12th century house, renovated by an architect respecting regional traditions. Rustic and cozy character. The house is located 640m above sea level. It is at the bottom of a medieval village, in the heart of Provence, near the Luberon, Mont Ventoux and the Lure mountain (Lureon-Lure UNESCO biosphere reserve). Country of Jean Giono (French writer on the Provençal peasant world.) The village of Simiane la Rotonde was ranked n°20 of the TOP 20 of the most beautiful villages in the world! (Belgian daily newspaper SoSoirdu 08/13/23) https://sosoir.lesoir.be/ce-village-francais-est-considere-comme-lun-des-plus-beaus-au-monde
The space
Ground floor 60m2: Large living room with a wood fire, lounge/fireplace, kitchen, storage room.
1st floor: 2 double bedrooms available (+ 1 single bed), one of which has a terrace. A bathroom (shower), separate WC.
Outbuildings (40m2): two bedrooms, bathroom and separate WC.
Large terrace, part of which is shaded by a trellis. Small garden with trees and sheltered from view. Two outdoor tables, chairs and deckchairs available.
Sheepfold: second fridge and bicycle storage possible. Wood supply.
Parking on the village square at 50 m.
Guest access
1 floor in the main house. The outbuilding (renovated sheepfold, with two bedrooms) is on one level. Not accessible to wheelchairs due to access by an outside staircase and unsuitable sanitary facilities.
The house is served by a small village street; a car can therefore park (for a minute drop-off) in front of the house while unloading luggage and groceries.
Notes
Quiet village (not overloaded with tourists in season.)
In the house: no dishwasher, dryer, microwave (on request). No TV. Smokers outside. No air conditioning, the thick walls keep the house cool in the summer.
Sheepfold (2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom + WC) not accessible in winter).
We live in the North and a small Simianaise company takes care of the house in our absence. A contribution to the cleaning costs is requested (between 60€ and 90€ depending on the number of rooms occupied). Household linen provided and firewood in winter. We request support for electricity consumption from guests (meter reading).

Numerous Provençal villages and their market, several of which are listed (Banon, Sault, Forcalquier, Roussillon, Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Gordes, Bonnieux, Lourmarin, Lacoste, Oppède, Manosque, etc.) and closer to Oppedette (and its gorges), Viens, Gignac, etc.

Municipal swimming pools in Rustrel, St Saturnin les Apt, (23km), Sault (18 km).
The thermal baths of Montbrun les Bains, 24km away, offer a SPA area with outdoor jaccuzi and very beautiful views of Mont Ventoux (+ treatments if desired) from mid March to mid November.
You will see the lavender from mid June and July (on the heights in August). It is quite common to see foxes, deer, wild boars on the roads.
For gourmets: The famous BANON cheese (creamy goat cheese in vine leaf) and other goat and sheep cheese variations; nougats from Sault, wines from Ventoux and Luberon, etc.
Activities: Hiking, cycling, horse riding, paragliding, etc.
