General overview
We have an large house but it is also very comfortable and functional. There are many common areas (two large living/family rooms) where families can socialize or retreat and enjoy some solitude. We have over 5,000 sq feet of living space inside on three levels. But you'll spend most of your time outside (even year round) enjoying our beautiful wrap around deck, hanging in the large back yard in the full length lounge chairs, grilling on the Weber and eating meals around our 6 person patio table while enjoying breathtaking views of Denver and beyond. We call our backyard "The Serengeti" because you never know who might show up to say hello like deer, elk, mountain lions, bobcats, bears, coyotes, hawks, eagles and bunnies. But not to worry they all keep their distance and are fascinating to watch. There is a private equestrian center across from the house and you can watch the magnificent horses grazing in their pasture.
The space
We live in a private yet friendly neighborhood set back from the suburbs and city of Denver but close to the mountain resorts. It's cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter than the city and mountains. We have immediate access to any activity you can imagine that makes Colorado famous. Our Willow Springs neighborhood hiking and biking trails are private and you will have access passes.
Guest access
The main level has two living areas, large kitchen and breakfast area, dining room and access outside to the wrap around deck with views of Red Rocks amphitheater, Denver and neighborhoods on the other side of the mountain range called The Hogback. There is a guest bath on this level and an office. The top floor has a huge master bedroom (King) with an ensuite (recently renovated) a guest bedroom (Queen) and another full bathroom in the hallway. The ground level is a private, lockoff apartment with a bedroom (queen) offset bedroom (full) , full bathroom , large living area and kitchenette. This space is also available upon discussion.
Notes
Our house is in great location to discover the Denver, Boulder and surrounding areas. But for longer exchanges it is a great home base to take overnight road trips to the famous National Parks in the state and southern Colorado towns like Telluride and Crested Butte. Day trips to Breckenridge and Vail are manageable or a little farther will take you to Aspen, Glenwood Springs and Moab in Utah. In a days drive you can also reach Yellowstone, Jackson Hole and Santa Fe. We have an indoor house cat that would need some attention and care.

Susan and David
Hello, We live in a beautiful area of Colorado near the famed Red Rocks Amphitheater. Our home is close to Denver, Boulder and many major ski resorts and national parks. You can bike and hike on spectacular private trails without leaving our neighborhood. Our son is a musician living in LA in and sometimes joins us on our exchanges. We spent 6 weeks in The Costa del Sol recently on a simultaneous exchange and are planning to return to Spain and Portugal in 2024 for a longer stay. We also enjoy the beaches on the west coast of Florida like Siesta Key and Anna Maria. And we look for opportunities to visit our son in the Pasadena area.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
