General overview

Relax with the whole family at our peaceful home near Southbourne beach. We are just half a mile from the beach, and live opposite Seafield gardens with children's playground and nature park. You're welcome to use our 3 paddleboards to make the most of the beautiful nearby river and sea. One of the best bits about our beautiful home is the large garden, complete with patio, outdoor table and chairs and gorgeous pergola seating area with firepit. We also have a hot tub which is perfect for star gazing and relaxing after a busy day with a glass of wine! Our house is perfect for children and have all the sleeping/eating equipment and plenty of toys! We also have a large trampoline for entertainment.

The space

We have three bedrooms. The master with super king bed. Children's room with bunk beds and one other room with single bed. The master bedroom overlooks the park and has a TV with Netflix etc. An infant cot is also available. We do also have a 'garden lodge' room with a double sofa bed, if you were travelling in a larger group and we could prepare this for you on special request. We have a cosy living room with fireplace and love to cosy up in there in winter. I also love to cook and host, and have a well equipped kitchen/diner, with all the appliances you would need! We have a utility room, with good ability to wash and dry clothes well. Attached is new beautiful shower room. We have another bathroom upstairs with bath and shower

Neighbourhood

A relaxed beachy vibe, with plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. Independent shops also within walking distance on our lovely Southbourne highstreet. Christchurch is our closest town, a historic Market town and beautiful Priory set on a pictureque quay. Beyond this is the stunning New Forest, perfect for dog walking. Here you can find many quintessential villages and find a traditional pub for lunch. The Rising Sun at Bashley and The White Buck in Burley are our favourites. Dorset has a beautiful coast and countryside, with plenty of sights waiting to be explored. For example you may want to fossil hunt on the famous Jurassic Coast and walk part of the coastal path, including Durdle Door and seaside towns such as Lyme Regis. Historic Corfe Castle is easily explored as part of Studland, a stunning wildlife sanctuary. Or even ride the Swanage Railway steam train. You could also take the ferry from Poole Harbour to visit Brownsea Island, to see rare red squirrels. Other day trippable attractions include: - Iconic Stonehenge. - A Ferry to the Isle of Wight - Head to family attractions such as Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, Monkey World, the Tank Museum, Longleat or Paultons Park. We would love to get to know your likes and can always point you in the right direction too!

Getting to my home

Road links are easy from the A338. There's parking on our drive for two car. Christchurch railway station is a few miles away with direct and regular trains to London (2hrs) . Making day trips easy.

Nearest airport

Nearest airport is Bournemouth 5 miles away. Heathrow and the other London airports are within a couple hours.

Getting around

Walking distance to several shops. Close bus stops and train links. Bournemouth also has a bike / scooter hire system to easily get around.

Rhiannon

We are a family of four, two children aged 6 and 5, plus one furry dog member. We love to travel, experiencing nature, great food and meet great people. We have travelled all over the world as a couple and would like to do more travelling with our children. We are open to any location, but are mostly limited to British school holidays. I am a lecturer in Physiotherapy and my husband is an engineering consultant. We'd like to make the most of the academic holidays and travel with our family. We look forward to being part of this vibrant community!
