We’ve had such a wonderful stay in Aino and Jan’s beautiful home — it truly felt like an artist’s home as Aino’s exquisite sculptures are in every room and corner of the house and it was amazing as it added special touch to the home. We loved the beautiful and peaceful surroundings, the comfort of their house, and especially the chance to enjoy the sauna and brave a cold plunge in the river — such a memorable Norwegian experience for our family. There are beautiful hiking spots and marina not far from the house. We’re also so grateful for the use of their car — it made exploring Kongsberg and the nearby nature so easy and enjoyable. Every detail of Aino and Jan’s hospitality made our stay extra special. Aino left some gifts as presents for us, Aino was even arranging a pick up for us from the station (before the car exchange was agreed) and we were blown away by this as she was going the extra mile to get us to her house! Plus, she kindly accommodated us one night in advance- truly wonderful host 🤩 We are truly thankful for Aino and Jan for sharing their home, car, sauna and river and a little piece of their life with us. We’ll carry these memories — and the warmth of their generosity — with us long after this!

Aino has a beautiful house. Clean, nice environment, and she is easy to communicate with. She did everything she could to make us feel at home. Lots of toys for our 17-month-old daughter. I definitely recommend Aino!

Aino went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful stay at her home. Her daughter picked us up from the train station and even got dinner for us. She took time to show us the house and how things work, and start a fire too. Both she and Aino were readily available throughout our exchange for questions and recommendations. She brought us to her family’s sauna one day too which we loved. The home was clean and organized for us. It’s decorated with ainos beautiful artwork! It’s quite large with 5 bedrooms. This area of Norway was beautiful with fall colors. Oslo is only an hour away if you want a city. Driving here was easy and we were happy to have a car swap! There’s a lot of hikes, climbing parks and farms. We loved our stay! Highly recommend Aino and family as exchange partners.

Aino and Jan’s home is really special, it’s in a beautiful setting next to a river and so tastefully decorated with Aino’s lovely glass artwork. We loved the view from the balcony and enjoyed waking up looking out at the snowy landscape. We were warmly welcomed by Aino and Jan on our arrival. They left some local food for us to try and homemade beer, both of which were much appreciated. It was very useful to be able to use their car, and it was very reliable in the fresh snow. We really enjoyed visiting the family’s sauna and introducing our children to skiing for the first time. It was a really unique and fun exchange for us and a lovely first trip to Norway. Aino was very responsive throughout our exchange, despite having limited internet access on her trip. She was also kind enough to give us one of her glass art pieces as a gift, which we will keep with fond memories. We would highly recommend this beautiful home and family to exchange with.

Aino and Jan’s house was very beautiful and her arts work is spectacular. It felt like we were living in an art gallery. Her house overlooks a highway and beautiful river. Great view from upper main bedroom with terrace . We didn’t use the terrace much due to traffic noise . The highlight of our stay was definitely the sauna at Jan’s parents house which is around 15 mins drive. The setting of sauna by the river was magical and his parents were awesome. During our stay, Aino was very responsive to our questions and needs. Thank you Aino and Jan for wonderful stay. Look forward to seeing you in Hawaii next year.

We had a wonderful time at Aino's and Jan's house. Aino's art in the house is super inspiring and everything was so warmly prepared for us. We loved the Norwegian raspberries, the Norwegian cheese, the homemade beer and just enjoyed BBQ so much in their beautiful garden in the most beautiful sunshine. A highlight of our trip was the time we were allowed to spend in the sauna. <3 We had great communication and even when we were "stuck" with the car in Oslo, they helped us. <3

What a beautiful home and such wonderful easygoing people! I am really happy we got to meet Aino and Jan - they were extremely accommodating and helpful. They even picked us up and dropped us off at the airport as it is not super easy to get to their home from Torp airport (would have been much easier from Oslo). Their home is just too beautiful, filled with Aino's glass art, and as they told us - they did all the renovations in the house by themselves! Although it was cold outside, it was warm in the house even without tuning on the fireplace or additional radiators (which were available). I loved waking up with an open view of trees and hills The house is situated in a small place, overlooking a river and hills, but close is Konberg, a bigger town with shopping malls and the usual stuff. We exchanged cars as well so we could freely explore the surroundings. Near the house, there is a local ski slope - small, with about 5 trails, but just enough for everyone's taste, from beginner to expert level. We loved it! We could also use/book a sauna that is located 15 minutes from the house, in their parent's house yard - this was also an amazing experience, especially with dipping in the frozen river afterward. The whole stay was just perfect and we would definitely go back and would love to meet Aino and Jan again.
