Serenity and peace in the Bulgarian countryside
Vishovgrad Veliko Tarnovo Province Bulgaria

Listed August 2018
Our home is in the middle of the Bulgarian countryside, replete with flowers, trees, birds and wildlife. Very quiet and peaceful but we are only 40km from Veliko Tarnovo; the ancient capital and royal seat of Bulgaria. There is plenty of nightlife here as well as world class restaurants and plenty of shops. The house is on the outskirts of the village, at the end of a road that leads up to a hill with amazing views! During part of the year we offer health through nutrition events and therapy - you can find out more by searching Makrobia or visiting makrobia.com
The property is 3 bedroom, all ensuite with a large space for relaxing, cooking and eating. It is a barn conversion so it has pleny of character with high ceilings, stone walls and lots of old timbers. There is also a large terrace area with massive table and chairs for outside dining. Our house is also on the same plot but you are welcome to use all the facilities around both houses. This is a rural property so it is simple - no central heating, no aircon but you will probably spend most of your time outside in the glorious Bulgarian summers. The property has a single woodburner but is not really suitable for deep winter usage so it is not available between November 1st and March 1st
There are no stairs into the property except but there are steps up into the bedrooms so not ideal for wheelchair access. There is parking in the driveway for one car and plenty of space outside.
We have a BBQ, pizza oven and a number of outdoor areas for sitting, eating or relaxing including hammocks! We usually have vegetables growing in the garden which you will be welcome to use during your stay.

Vishovgrad is very quiet - just two small shops and a Post Office. Pavlikeni, 15 mins by car, has everything you may need including supermarkets, bars, restaurants, banks, shops and doctors.
You would benefit greatly by having a car. Public transport is limited. Hire cars are very cheap in Bulgaria. We have a oldish VW Passat which we may be able to arrange for you to borrow for local use.
