Hospitality Description: Our home nestles in the heart of the Hunter Valley, one of Australia's oldest wine-producing regions only 2.5 hours from Sydney. An historic town (where grand colonial buildings and open famlands sit side by side). Maitland is family friendly, has most modern conveniences and is surrounded by scenic beauty (including beaches), national parks, gournet extravagances and music and events!

Neighbourhood
What's in the neighbourhood? The area is known for its vineyards, fresh food, and warm, friendly people and glimpses of country life. Whether you’re into wine tasting, country drives, or just soaking up the sun, you’ll find life here easygoing and enjoyable.
There is easy access to the hamlets, towns and larger cities of the Hunter Valley. Sydney, the capital of NSW is about 2.5 hours away and Canberra the nation's capital is about 5 hours away by car or train.
Maitland itself, sits on the Hunter River and is steeped in history. It is not a large city--about 90,000 people live in Maitland which means that is all the services you would expect of a larger city without the hustle and bustle. It is nestled in amongst the bush under big blue skies in a part of the world where people are happy to smile and chat for a while.
Nearest airport
If you fly from anywhere in the world you may be able to fly into Newcastle Airport at Williamtown (40 minutes away by car) or Kingsford Smith Airport in Sydney (2.5 hours away by car).
Getting Around
From our home you can choose to walk to two areas of shops--one a teired shopping centre and the other a Central Business District (CBD) area at ground level. On the way you will see truly lovely relics of bygone eras as cows, sheep, horses still inhabit the flood prone areas.
