This beautiful old wooden house is located on a tiny little hill with beautiful views of the nearby mountains. It was built in the so-called Rothschild style of the area - one of the reasons why the locals call it "villa".
Surrounded by beautiful nature with many old trees and a wild garden, it is a wonderful place to relax, hike, observe nature, adventure, cook on an old wood stove and linger at and in a beautiful little mountain lake.
The house is about 2.5 km from the small village of Lunz am See and about 5 km from the lake. In the village you will find a supermarket, cafes, a nice shop with organic products, a small museum, of course restaurants, a bank, etc.
Since the main road is not far away, the house is easy to reach, but: you hear traffic noise. Depending on the conditions, more or less.
In other words, it's not as far away as you might think when you look at the pictures! This is my second home. The primary school is in Vienna and the two places are fantastic to combine. Only 150 km apart.
It is highly advisable to have a car to be flexible enough to discover the area!
The Space
On the ground floor you will find the kitchen and a small storage room, the living room, a bathroom, the toilet, the "piano room", the veranda and a beautiful bedroom. Upstairs another double bedroom and a single bedroom. Each with balcony.
As you can see in the pictures, the house is kept in a simple style. It is a beautiful old "villa" with lots of atmosphere, beauty and character. I wanted it to stay that way! For example, there is no central heating, no TV, no Wi-Fi.
AND: There are animals, of course.... Be it ants, insects, spiders and sometimes mice or small snakes. Snakes are harmless in this area of the world and it is very unlikely that you will see one, nevertheless: you should know that this is not a 'sterile' place ...
Guest Access
There are 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 single
Notes
The house cannot be used in winter. But from late spring to autumn, everything is wonderful. I appreciate people who come, who can handle such an old house, who can fire an old stove, who appreciate experiencing real darkness in times of too much light pollution, who like to look at the sky at night and who want to work in the garden and know what they are doing ;-)
Forests, lakes, mountains, alpine pastures, hiking trails, typical villages, a national park, beautiful garden, swimming, SUP, restaurants, a very nice bike path along the Ybbs, a nice little thermal spa in a nearby village with brine pool, saunas. etc. and much more
Here's the link to my primary residence, in case you want both!
