General overview

This beautiful and old wooden house is situated on a tiny little hill with great views to the nearby mountains. It has been built in the so-called Rothschild - style of the area - one of the reasons why the locals call it a "Villa". Surrounded by beautiful nature with many old trees and a wild garden, it is a wonderful place for recreation, hiking, observing nature, adventures, for cooking on an old wooden stove and for spending time on and in a natural beautiful small mountain lake. The house is about 2,5 km away from the small village Lunz am See and about 5 km away from the lake. In the village you find a supermarket, cafe(s), a pretty shop with organic products, a small museum, restaurants of course, a bank, etc. Since the main road is not far away, the house is easy to reach, but: You will hear traffic noise. More or less depending on the conditions. With other words it is not as remote as one could think when you look at the pictures! This is my secondary home. The primary is in Vienna and the two places are phantastic to combine. Only 150 km apart. It is very advisable to have a car to be flexible enough to discover the area!

The space

On the ground floor you find the kitchen and a small storage room, the living room, a bath room, the toilet, the "piano-room", the veranda and a beautiful bed room. Upstairs another double bed room and a single bed room. Each with balconies. As you can see on the pictures, the house is kept in a simple style. It is a beautiful old "villa" with a lot of atmosphere, beauty and character. I wanted to keep it that way! So there is no central heating, for example, there is no television, no WiFi. AND: There are animals of course.... Be it ants, insects, spiders and sometimes mice or small snakes. Snakes in this area of the world are of no danger and it is very unlikely that you will see one, still: You should know, that this is not a 'sterile' place...

Guest access

There are 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 single in

Notes

The house cannot be used in winter. But everything from late spring to autumn is wonderful. I appreciate people to come who can handle an old house like that, who can fire an old stove, who appreciate to experience real darkness in times of too much light pollution, who like to watch the sky at night, and who eventually want to work in the garden and know what they are doing ;-)
