An hour and fifteen drive north and east of Perth city. My home is sandwiched between the Avon Valley National Park and Julimar State Forest and close to one of the oldest inland towns in WA. We are surrounded by beautiful natural bush with a wide assortment of native trees and the chance to see much native wildlife. Roos regularly come to the area below my balcony and I have seen an emu, echidnas, goannas and there is a wealth of reptile and bird life.
The space
Big house on ten acres with fruit trees and seasonal vegetable patches. There are actually three rooms we use as bedrooms and one my son uses as a study, but there are also another 2 empty rooms, one that could be used as another lounge and one as a bedroom or study.
Guest access
Single storey home with a wrap around veranda with an add-on double storey extension housing the master bedroom with upstairs balcony.
Notes
Two cats in residence so we need cat lovers. Merlin is a one year old tom and Duchess is an eight year old queen. Merlin is a lovely character. Duchy has a beautiful nature but is a bit of a scaredy cat. Also a goldfish pond and a lily pond.

Neighbourhood
Beautiful bush. The closest small town, Toodyay, is a twenty minute drive away. The larger town, Northam, a thirty-five minute drive away. Perth city is one hour and fifteen minutes drive away.
Getting to my home
Fly into Perth, if you are hiring a car is best to pick it up there. If you are using my car then a taxi might be the best way to get to my house. There is no public transport directly accessible from the property so a car is a must.

It was such a pleasure to have Sharon and all of her family staying in our house. They are, as all australians, very friendly and easygoing. The have taken good care of our house, mowed our lawn and left the house in perfect condition. They are more than welcome to stay in our house again
Sharon lived in our house on a hospitality exchange for 9 days in June 2024. She got to reunite with her nowadays Swedish living daughter and grandchild and we got a house, cat and plant sitter while we where away in our summer house. Sharon was very respectful and caring as guest and we found everything to our satisfaction when we got home.
A very warm welcome from Mats and Anna. We were actually overwhelmed by this house, it is very beautiful, plenty of space and full of character and has a big, peaceful garden with comfy furniture where I sat out most days. The view of the sea/small marina, landscape from the house/garden is wonderful. It's a short walk through a beautiful old part of Härnosand to the centre's shops and restaurants. Rawan's Steakhouse served delicious fare. A great car museum is nearby and a lovely beach called Smitingen. I can highly recommend this home.
A nice welcome from Andreas and family. Lovely, private, comfortable and stylish home a short walk away from the train and metro stations. There was a great sushi place and burger bar very close and a couple of supermarkets. Their cat was very easy to look after and very sweet and loving. Can highly recommend this place.
