Neighbourhood
Karragarra Island is the smallest island of the South Moreton Bay Islands. This a place is for a rest and reset. Connect with nature. Discover yourself again.
There are no shops, no traffic, no noise, well besides the bush stone curlews but I'll tell you about them later.
With a population of around 250 people Karragarra aka Karra has a tight knit friendly community is reminiscent of another time.
Whether you like to be out on the bay on the water, swimming in the safe netted area or simply enjoying the solitude Karra has all that and more offer.
Karra is only 15 mins from the mainland with ferries running hourly from Redland Bay Marina. Redland Bay is just one hour from Brisbane city and the airport. Karra is part of the Southern Moreton Bay Island group with Macleay, Lamb and Russell islands. Each island has its own character and there are shops and cafes located on Macleay and Russell which is just a few minutes away by ferry. See here for more details on the islands -
